- Dodgeball vs. NASCAR
who called it bombardment? We had a rule change that all throws had to be two handed over the head until a guy got bopped wight in the face while attempting a throw. I also liked scooter dodgeball. We played while seated on these little four wheel scooters. The cool thing was to push off from the bleachers and use the momentum to add a little extra on the ball.- Charles Barkley to join MNF
I would tune in for a couple games to hear Sir Charles.- I saw the Eagles tonight
7 Bridges Road is on my All-Time, better in concert than on an album tune. Burn Down the Mission may be #1 on that list but 7 Bridges Road is also way up there. One of the biggest threats to the Eagles ever getting traction was the country vs. soft rock vs. hard-er rock sounds. The money at the recird company and early producers had them as country-lite-rock and they wanted to rock a bit more. I think that was one reason they got Joe invoved.- Angels interested in Jose Valentin?
Then use your white out and fix it blondy- Who is the greatest Closer of All time
I think Eck and Larussa basically re-invented the closer role. Closers are 1 part pitcher, 1 part luck, 1 part attitude, and 1 part black magic. ALl mist be perfectly alligned. How many times have we seen 1 or 2 season ultimate closer types and then they fade quickly to oblivion?- Angels interested in Jose Valentin?
That guy must have been cut out of the picture Please repost and we'll let you know- I saw the Eagles tonight
Yes Alpine Valley. The cops loved concerts up there. They would bust a couple hundred cars for open liquor on the way north, grab some dinner and a nap and then bust them for drunk driving on the way south. The book focused more on the early influences, the California rock scene, who they were hanging with, that sort of stuff. I am always interested in how so many acts are intertwined. IIRC, Jackson Browne and Linda Ronstadt and the Eagles all hung out together. There was also some stuff on JD Sother (damn, forget the spelling) on how he was in and out of the group. By-the-way, since there latest efforts have not sold very well, yet they have a following, are they an indie band now?- Vaseline Man
We know he didn't chaffe at the arrest The makers of Vaseline would want that product refered to as patroleum jelly. By the way, it was initially invented to be taken internally as a health aid.- i can't believe this name was not taken
Welcome aboard. And kudos for figuring out where to post first. Most first time posters just wander over to the Pale Hose forum.- Wunsch recalled, Cotts to start
Go Neal. I am certain this season will see at least one of our reasonably home grown pitchers have a great season. Here's to Neal making that prediction come true- Dodgeball vs. NASCAR
Old Playground Favorite More at the link.- I saw the Eagles tonight
When I was in High School the Eagles were a twice a year concert treat. They would always play Poplar Creek and/or South Wisconsin, I forget the venue near the old Playboy Club (Americana) and they would play an indoor show. Very cool. I read the bands autobiography, it was pretty cool.- I won't be around as much...
God Bless, my prayers are with you tonight and as you deal with all the emotions. I am certain there are many happy memories, we are lucky to have love ones to enjoy in our lives.- Gammons on Sox trade talks
Two factors in trade Traditional factor: My surplus for a need that matches your surplus for a need. We have right power, who needs righty power and has either a decent starter or lefty power to trade? New Economic factor: Who's got a contract to dump (FA type)? Dumping Kong gets a Kong. I can't believe with all out minor league arms we cannot find a reliable 5th starter. Remember we had the dream minor league system for pitching, why hasn't it paid off bigger?- Happy Birthday

- Islamic Web Site Shows Beheading Of American
When further developments came out with the prisoner abuse story, what should our media do? Not all the facts came out at once. Should they have ignored the rest of the pictures? What I am attacking is the Republican Party who wants Americans to reject any criticism of them by calling the messenger bad. I also find it ironic that, at least on my radio dial, there is 18 hours a day of Republican talk show hosts claiming the media is biased. And the GOP party faithfuls go looking for any example of the media criticizing Bush and say "ditto Rush, look at these attacks". Again, the greatest political strategy of all time is the Republicans painting the media as biased. When the GOP screws up, like the Dems and every other elected official, the Republicans claim media bias and deflect all criticism. In a sense making themselves perfect. It was probably at 1/3 the reason why I left the GOP. I'm not saying the media is not biased. Everyone, in everything we do, is biased. I just reject that there is an overwhelming leftist bias. There is a bias towards accuracy. There is a bias on what will sell newspapers and reach more eyeballs. I heard Rush the other day attacking the media for not talking about the Iraqi children who are now attending school instead of talking about prisonor abuse. Instead of spending the hour attacking the media, why not spend the hour talking about school children?- Game on ESPN tonight
