You can't keep a roster together for six years in the NFL. Most teams build in three or four. I can think they are better than their record. At all least two but more likely three wins better.

Do we have a word for something between full rebuilding and super bowl contender? This shouldn't be more than a two to maybe three year division championship caliber team.

Do we really want the Sox to sign a top tier or even a middle tier free agent? The sport needs those guys to go to the bad teams so they have a chance. It's what the player's want also. Force those cheap teams to open their checkbooks and sign some talent away from teams that are contending.

I look at the Hall of Fame as the place that baseball celebrates all that is great about the game and honors people that advanced the game forward. I don't see why they should honor anyone that shit on the game.

I was taking with one of our coaches and asked how they can spend so much time breaking down film. To understand if the Bears could put in motion the same game plan you have to analyze position by position why it worked then ask do the Bears have the personel currently on roster. It's impressive how much time football coaches spend in this sort of work.

I'm wondering what are the range of options and what I feel is fair. Leagues have forced sales of teams before. I'd start with the end of ownership. I can't imagine anything less to repair the franchise.

@MiddleCoastBias makes a great point. While I agree with @vilehoopster that it isn't any more difficult it is a different skill set. My guess is Jake was a three sport athlete at some point before building his body for baseball. I think the best news in this is he's thinking how can I help this team and putting in the work. Hopefully that attitude fills the clubhouse.

I just don't see a way that 2nd and RF aren't weak spots unless we dig a hole somewhere else. Who knows, maybe Jake can prevent the FO from doing something even dumber. Or, someone has to back up Garcia at 2nd. (sigh)
