  1. QUOTE(Steff @ Jun 2, 2005 -> 12:17 PM) Excuse you.. my post WAS on topic. Partial credit awarded for mentioning frank in your post.
  2. QUOTE(Steff @ Jun 2, 2005 -> 12:10 PM) His ovation was really loud, too.. QUOTE(EvilJester99 @ Jun 2, 2005 -> 12:11 PM) I heard Buehrle's was louder.... :banghead QUOTE(Steff @ Jun 2, 2005 -> 12:11 PM) I was this/close to posting that.. LOL. QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Jun 2, 2005 -> 12:14 PM) But Willies was loudest of all M-V-P M-V-P M-V-P Please stop hijacking the topic. :headshake Now back to giving Frank props.
  3. His at bat last nite shows the respect and fear other teams still have for Frank. No one else on this team gets pitched around like that with bases loaded and the winning run on deck. He makes the offense a lot scarier for the other team.
  4. QUOTE(Seesox @ Jun 1, 2005 -> 04:31 PM) We cant just go out and get all these people that are doin good right now like it was nothing.. be realistic what are you talking about? Who are all these people we are getting? The Cincy GM has made it known that no one on the team is untouchable. Freel was good last year too. He is a 29 year old who is playing just his second full season so there is a good chance he is not in thier future plans.
  5. Cincy will listen to trade offers on any of thier guys, how about Joe Ran............ just kidding, what about Ryan Freel. I think he's played some third base. http://sports.yahoo.com/mlbpa/players/6685
  6. The Score just reported Timo will play first base tonite, Uribe will be batting second, and Willie is batting ninth.
  7. QUOTE(Yossarian @ May 30, 2005 -> 06:31 PM) I know Iguchi didn't need to blow a DP ball and Marte didn't have to walk in another run, but is everybody happy with his handling of the pitchers? It's a tough call, as fans we don't have all the info on how players are doing on a day to day basis. I'm sure everyone was yelling for hermey to come in, I know I was, and then I read that he was feeling tight and couldn't go. So you can't blame ozzie for that. the thing i question is when the sox are down two or three runs and he goes to viz or cotts. This team obviously doesn't score alot so it's critical not to let the other team extend leads. I know you can't pitch marte and pollitte everyday so I think another solid bullpen arm is needed.
  8. a bad day today for ozzie. he has to get hermey into the game at the latest after dallas bats. if he was going to have crede bunt in the ninth then i don't see why he doesn't send ozuna in. pinch hitting everett for our best hitter iguchi. luckily we won the game today. hopefully frank isn't hurt bad. i'm just glad they won cause i would have been majorly pissed if they lost today.
  9. Sooooo, what's the word on Gload? damn, pauly.
  10. QUOTE(Chisoxrd5 @ May 26, 2005 -> 04:04 PM) Mods...can this thread be deleted? B/C this is pure garbage This thread is needed as evidence to employ the mass bannings of useless posters. I fear my time here is short.
  11. QUOTE(qwerty @ May 26, 2005 -> 03:35 PM) There are alot better pitchers over there than him. No thank you. If we can keep Timo around cause he's buddies with Uribe, than the Sox should be more than happy to bring in the good friend of our best hitter.
  12. QUOTE(Steff @ May 26, 2005 -> 03:34 PM) The Sox also don't allow minorities into the Stadium Club. It's true, I read it in the Sun Times.
  13. Is it true before they ripped out the seats to the last rows of the upper deck they wouldn't allow the elderly or pregnant woman to sit up there because the air was so thin?
  14. QUOTE(Steff @ May 26, 2005 -> 03:06 PM) Maybe we should ban the garbage as well... Only 20 posters would make this site boring to read.
  15. QUOTE(SleepyWhiteSox @ May 26, 2005 -> 02:55 PM) I like how threads like these push down the ones with substance... You forgot the green.
  16. QUOTE(jasonxctf @ May 24, 2005 -> 03:10 PM) what's going on with this guy? 2 months ago i was thinking that i'd rather have him at DH over Frank. After his .189 May batting average I can't wait for Frank or even Ross Gload to get back!!! My guess would be he is hurt. Groin, wrist, something is bothering him.
  17. QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ May 24, 2005 -> 01:43 PM) So because one guy doesn't work out, that means no one else will? Come on. No, that's not what I'm saying. What I'm saying is the percentage of minor leaguers that go on to become all-star caliber players at the major league level is miniscule. So if you have a chance to add a proven solid major leaguer, you don't not do the deal because of a minor leaguer who is a huge question mark as to what they will actually do at the major league level.
  18. QUOTE(wilmot825 @ May 24, 2005 -> 01:08 PM) Thta would be a bad deal because Josh Fields is an up and coming star. Better hitter than Crede and a an average fielder. He is the future and they dont need Polanco. Everyone said the exact same thing about Crede when he was in the minors, how'd that work out for us? Success at the major league level is a huge trump card over anything someone accomplishes in the minors.
  19. In other breaking news...... WE'VE LANDED ON THE MOON!!!!!!!! and SOMEONE SHOT PRESIDENT REAGAN!!!
  20. For all the Marlin fans, what is the deal with Lowell this year? What's his contract situation? Would the Marlins deal him and do you think he is a good buy low player? Would you like to see the sox trade for him? do you think he would turn it around here? how is he defensively.
  21. I'll give some props to the Angels, they played excellent defensively. Erstad made a couple great plays. Their defensive positioning robbed everett of two hits. We didn't make the plays on d, and I thought our overall approach at the plate was poor. I think they really let santana get into a groove by taking too many fastballs down the middle, letting him get ahead of everybody and then able to use that slider that no one could touch. That said, it is just one game and if burly gets the win today everyone will be in a sunshiney mood.
  22. I keep waiting for DJ to don a sailor hat for the pregame with hawk and dj. that would bring the hilarity.
  23. Too bad the D-Rays didn't release him before he lit us up.
  24. QUOTE(knightni @ May 17, 2005 -> 01:24 PM) Actually, when the game gets going, batting order doesn't mean much; only, "who bats in front of whom". IMO, Uribe is a better guy to hit in front of Pods than Crede. If Crede gets on, GREAT! Uribe can knock him in. then why not bat uribe leadoff oh well, just have to agree to disagree.
