  1. Just heard this on the score.
  2. My guess right now is that the sox are 60%-40% leaning towards re-signing him. I honestly wouldn't mind seeing him go if we can replace him with a lefty who can spray the ball to all fields and hit for a high average and at least be konerko's equal defensively.
  3. It's obvious that this team is being built around pitching and defense so I wouldn't be suprised if Kenny traded for burnett or schmidt and gave up top offensive prospects for them, maybe even both sweeney and anderson as the main parts for burnett and a quality bullpen arm.
  4. QUOTE(3E8 @ Jun 28, 2005 -> 11:56 AM) Eh I still think this is crazy talk. I meant it more in general terms than this trade specifically.
  5. QUOTE(Dam8610 @ Jun 28, 2005 -> 11:48 AM) If Burnett is truly on the market, bye-bye BMac, Marte, and whoever else within reason if it's going to bring him in for a few years. I honestly wouldn't mind, because we'd then have 5 quality starters, something few, if any, MLB teams can claim. The way cotts has come on this year the Sox may very well think marte is expendable.
  6. You should say you had sex with his wife while he was in new york. That is always good for a few laughs, unless his wife is in a coma, then you would be a pathetic loser for saying that.
  7. I am responsible for one of those tickets. (pats self on back)
  8. QUOTE(nvxplorer @ Jun 20, 2005 -> 03:57 PM) For a closer to get a win he must first blow a save. That's why it's bad for closers to get wins. This assumes he is being used exclusively in a closer's role. Yeah, cause closers are never brought into a tie game in the ninth.
  9. the fact that we play alot of close games weighs heavily in pods favor of swiping six.
  10. QUOTE(TheHammer @ Jun 17, 2005 -> 04:34 PM) Helton careerwise is better than just about every 1B in the league today. He is one of those HOF career under the radar guys. I sympathize with how upset he was about those ridiculous steroid accusations he had to go through, what a bunch of garbage. Unless he changes teams and puts up numbers like he has in Colorado, people will question his numbers playing in the thin air. It's not an entirely off base argument either as he has been good to really good on the road but his home splits are ungodly.
  11. QUOTE(robinventura23 @ Jun 17, 2005 -> 04:33 PM) We all know Mark hates the Cubs. He grew up a die hard Cardinal fan. Nobody ever said it was Maddux. Everyone is just assuming it is him. For all we know it could be Michael Wuertz. Remlinger
  12. QUOTE(knightni @ Jun 17, 2005 -> 04:28 PM) Um... You mean, Jeremy Bonderman Right? QUOTE(Iguana @ Jun 17, 2005 -> 04:30 PM) i sure hope that's what he means. LOL. if not..... Nope.
  13. QUOTE(knightni @ Jun 17, 2005 -> 04:25 PM) I dunno. Helton is damn good. Too bad he is off this year offensively. :banghead = Helton on a few of my fantasy teams Helton career wise is much better than Konerko. I put it in green because I don't think Uribe would try to get back at koney.
  14. QUOTE(LosMediasBlancas @ Jun 17, 2005 -> 04:22 PM) Mark grew up a Cardinal fan and loooooves to piss of Cub fans. He might not actually mean what he said, he just loves to stir the pot. That was what I was thinking. I think Mark likes to get people riled up.
  15. It's too bad we already played colorado or Uribe could get back at konerko by telling everyone todd helton was the best first baseman he's ever played with. That would show slownerko.
  16. QUOTE(Jabroni @ Jun 13, 2005 -> 11:28 PM) Getting owned 8-1 by Shawn f***ing Estes is a lot worse than getting owned 9-1 by D-Train. :rolly All lefties ride us hard and put us to bed wet./end hawkism

    Jaws

QUOTE(DBAH0 @ Jun 11, 2005 -> 10:24 AM) Or dirt road biking. Are you suggesting a professional athlete would lie about how he was injured? Personally I think it's a plot by Todd Helton to remain the best player on the rockies. Brad Hawpe better decline Helton's offer to go sky diving this weekend.

QUOTE(YASNY @ Jun 11, 2005 -> 07:28 AM) Rowand and AJ playing with sharks. That's JUST what we need. :headshake Is this safer or more hazardous than lugging deer meat up the stairs?

    Carnival is in town

QUOTE(LosMediasBlancas @ Jun 10, 2005 -> 10:10 AM) Not to mention, if you've ever spoken to the employees or looked closely at all the nuts and bolts holding the rides together, it's not exactly a 'tip top' operation. That's part of the thrill.

    Carnival is in town

QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Jun 10, 2005 -> 10:04 AM) The best part of a carnival is the food. I think they have deep fried candy bars now. Snickers, Milkey Way, with a dusting of powder sugar. Deadly.

QUOTE(mreye @ Jun 10, 2005 -> 10:02 AM) The Gravitron! Top Notch! I remember riding that a loooong time ago. I think it spun around really fast and then the floor lowered?
