  1. QUOTE (Frank_Thomas35 @ Jul 30, 2013 -> 01:34 PM) Supposedly PV is now listed as tomorrows starter? According to MLbTR and Cleveland's twitter page. The D'Backs may kick the tires again on Peavy, hears Ken Rosenthal of FOX Sports. The White Sox are now listing Peavy for tomorrow's start against the Indians, for what it's worth. MLbTR link on the page Yes, because by the time tomorrow's game starts, the deadline will be over. If Peavy is traded, they will find a new starter. If he is not, he will be starting for the White Sox because he will still be on the team.
  2. QUOTE (southside hitman @ Jul 30, 2013 -> 01:26 PM) Can't they just officially keep him in Charlotte and stash him in a Cleveland hotel room? Does it matter where the player is geographically? It's really a mute point, somebody (Peavy,Lindstrom etc) is going to go today or tomorrow but still. Rienzo can be in the dugout, but pretty sure he cannot be in uniform (because then he would technically be a uniformed player). If he wears a White Sox t-shirt or a hoodie, there's no issue.
  3. I would take Machado for Sale, now we just need Machado for sale
  4. QUOTE (Big Hurtin @ Jul 30, 2013 -> 11:47 AM) I know, the pitchers are going to need it. Ha
  5. QUOTE (Eminor3rd @ Jul 30, 2013 -> 11:34 AM) The fact that we could probably continue this for at least 4 more exchanges and no one would complain says a lot about how little information exists in this thread I figure doing what can be done to ease the tension is the best thing to do right now. We might find out in the next hour that Peavy has been traded, or we could go another 27 and a half hours and find out that he wasn't traded at all. Beating yourself up over it is just a waste of time at this point
  6. QUOTE (Baron @ Jul 30, 2013 -> 11:32 AM) (_dudeabides_) @(_teammoniker_) 1m (_name_) to start for #(_team_) in place of (_name_) vs. #(_opposingteam_). Doesn't mean (_name_) has been/will be traded. But he's been scratched
  7. QUOTE (Eminor3rd @ Jul 30, 2013 -> 11:26 AM) No way they can handle the salary. Plus, outside of XXqalctz, I'm not enamored with any of their position players. Well that's because he's overhyped by the media, don't listen to that drivel. He has Shane Spencer or Gypford Gomfrey written all over him. I am interested in Marvin though. I know the Sox don't have a huge need for pitching, but he's got a freakin laser.
  8. I think that Jake Peavy is going to be traded to the Jupiter Martians today
  9. QUOTE (Soxfest @ Jul 30, 2013 -> 11:13 AM) So much for the keep Peavy and build around him nonsense rumors. Andre Rienzo is expected to be called up to start in Peavy's place on Tuesday. Per Rotoworld Yes, because the White Sox have confirmed a trade of Jake Peavy
  10. QUOTE (elrockinMT @ Jul 30, 2013 -> 10:37 AM) I hope Peavy pitches for the Sox. We need to keep him to help stabilize the young staff f*** that, Wilbur Wood is still alive
  11. QUOTE (Harry Chappas @ Jul 30, 2013 -> 10:22 AM) Plenty of grindy speed there, it is just dumb. Pfffttt, you think De Aza is anything comparable to Pierre or Podsednik? C'mon man
  12. QUOTE (Harry Chappas @ Jul 30, 2013 -> 10:18 AM) I still do not know how this offense is so woefully bad. Lack of grindy speed at the top of the order
  13. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jul 30, 2013 -> 08:39 AM) They don't know that at all. I keep saying this. I said it in the post of mine I replied to. This is 100% normal when you're trying to develop young players. 100% normal. Struggling at the start is what you should expect. Many of history's greatest players struggle at the start. People are so desperate for young talent in this organization, they want to trade off everything for that young talent, and then the moment it gets to the big leagues, it's cast aside and declared a failure because it does what every player should be expected to do. Mike Trout hit .220/.281/.390/.672 over his first 135 PAs
  14. Haha I am going to make you bump this so many times now
  15. Yeah, if he isn't traded, he is just going to start tomorrow. No point in making him go out and try to pitch with everything he undoubtedly has on his mind right now. He'd pitch absolutely terribly, and then if a trade is consummated in the 4th inning, the Sox don't have to awkwardly pull him. Plus, I mean really, if the Sox keep him, they'll have such a good pitching staff next year, and with a pitching staff like that they can definitely compete next year
  16. I was told Gil Heredia is starting for the Sox tonight instead, confirm/deny?
  17. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Jul 29, 2013 -> 09:51 PM) @ESPNStatsInfo: Jason Giambi is the oldest player in MLB history to hit a walk-off home run. Record previously held by Hank Aaron in 1976. (@EliasSports) Oldest Walk-off Homer: Jason Giambi*
  18. QUOTE (Rowand44 @ Jul 29, 2013 -> 03:23 PM) Borat is amazing but Bruno is severely underrated IMO. That movie was great too. That wasn't up for debate. We are simply discussing whether Borat or Bruno is better. Borat is by about 3 leaps and/or bounds
  19. I had a dream last night I was late for work
  20. QUOTE (GoSox05 @ Jul 29, 2013 -> 02:37 PM) It won't work. Even Leslie Frazier told Jennings to shut up. Jennings has been spoiled when it comes to QB play. Wait till he goes to catch a pass from Ponder and falls two feet in front of him. Do they let injured players warm up backup QBs?
  21. QUOTE (Jose Paniagua @ Jul 29, 2013 -> 02:40 PM) KC is really really underrated. So is Minneapolis-St. Paul. Detroit and Cleveland I won't argue, but I wouldn't exactly say that Pittsburgh and Cincinnati are ideal vacation destinations.
  22. QUOTE (ChiSoxJon @ Jul 29, 2013 -> 10:39 AM) Borat or Bruno? Everyone is going to answer this Borat, and I will punch those that do not
  23. QUOTE (Knackattack @ Jul 29, 2013 -> 11:42 AM) Why is it that not one media member can produce an accurate story about us this year? As CyAcosta would say, mis, dis, and non-information. The White Sox are among the best at it and have been for years.
  24. QUOTE (GoGoSox2k2 @ Jul 29, 2013 -> 11:11 AM) im still thinking the Crain piece is tied to a large piece such as Rios or Peavy with the 3rd team. only specifics that are known are Crain to the Rays though. we shall see.. at least i wont have to work for the next couple hours This seems quite far fetched
  25. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Jul 29, 2013 -> 10:20 AM) In 102 games, the Sox have used 70 different batting orders, and no one order more than 6 times. Snap
