  1. Well you know things are going well when Vaughn gets a two out two rbi single.
  2. Martin up to 96 in the first. 93-95 more common for him. CH best pitch 90-91 unusual speed differential, gets him with the slider.
  3. Sosa more questionable decision-making. Pena really hustling.
  4. He's also the leading AL RoY contender. Once these three youngsters are in the lineup...Boston won't just pull them when they're hitting well.
  5. A.Judge .434, MLB AvG .241 11th homer today, second to Cal Raleigh
  6. Cody Bellinger, similar stats but going totally different directions...unfortunately Jasson Dominguez biggest ask there with NYY. Uggg...formatting terrible when you cut and paste stats lol. 196 /614 .221 .601 T.Taylor NYM Myers Houston .262 .618 .169 .580 Nolan Jones CLE
  7. And Sergio too...Gregory not so much.
  8. Anthony seems next in line. Yoshida odd man out. Mayer blocked for now by Story Campbell D.Hamilton.
  9. Wrong century. Brett Myers and Wil Cordero dishonorable DV mentions. DAngelo Jimenez.
  10. Palacios batting fifth behind Robert proves once and for all "lineup protection" is irrelevant.
  11. We know exactly who Vaughn is. At this point we pretty much know what Sosa is as well. Elko deserves the opportunity to at least fail and get scouted/figured out. If for no other reason than to provide hope to all the rest of the underdog/underappreciated players in the system who look up to Shane Smith Vasil and ever so briefly G.Workman.
  12. Only Merkin and the Puff Piece Army at Sox Twitter. Btw Shane Smith family and friends numbered 300 in his Fenway big league start btw. (Although Elko's family has a lot further to go...)
  13. In the short term, it might be more Romy Gonzalez. That's funny, too. Although Giolito was hardly an ace in his last 1 1/2 seasons with the Chi Sox. He got us back Quero at least...quite the steal when you consider how badly he bombed the last two months of 2023.
  14. Give Elko 2-3 weeks and just bench Vaughn then. Maybe that will snap him out of it. Record doesn't even matter so much as progress towards 4-5 younger players establishing themselves as keepers going forward before Schultz/Smith/Taylor arrive. Elko getting that dreamed of shot heartens the hopes of everyone else at Birmingham and below in the Sox minors...the belief that promotions are merit/performance-based and not just this political BS of playing favorites with some players over others. And for God's sake Amaya and Palacios are AAAA players getting all kinds of opportunities. Maton in his late 20's. Enough.
  15. "One speculative possibility would be to turn to Rafael Devers, who hasn’t played a single defensive inning all season. Devers has never played a professional inning at first base. He’s obviously familiar with the infield, but Cora made clear at the beginning of the season that the Sox viewed him as a full-time designated hitter for the time being. It seems they want Devers focused exclusively on maintaining an offensive rhythm as the DH rather than getting occasional defensive work after being pushed off third base by the Alex Bregman signing. That may need to change at some point. Keeping Devers as a full-time DH would essentially block any path to playing time for Masataka Yoshida whenever he’s able to return from a shoulder injury. Yoshida could theoretically play some left field, but that’d require pushing Jarren Duran to center and would only be an option until top outfield prospect Roman Anthony comes up from Triple-A. There’d be more flexibility if the Red Sox were comfortable using Devers at first base." mlbtraderumors.com Seems like Walker Buehler is also dealing with some type of shoulder injury...they need to get Giolito back to 100% or K.Crawford.
  16. https://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2025/05/triston-casas-suffers-significant-knee-injury.html Drury? Dalbec back to Boston? Need to start clearing out this roster and making room for the next generation of players..
  17. Jeff Keppinger Hahn's first free agent. Nick Swisher Adam Dunn Javy Vasquez Adam LaRoche
  18. That GS robbery might end up being the key moment in turning his season around when all is said and done.
  19. Getz just sucks. And it's not like he is even connected to Vaughn's failure compared to Rick Hahn. Andrew hardly had time to be blamed on minor league development mistakes anyway. Sticking him in the outfield due to Abreu's presence was the first cardinal sin.
  20. Meidroth and Quero are not going to be traditional counting stats stand out so...more players you grow to appreciate watching them day after day, month after month.
  21. This is for WestEddy...proof someone is helping Elko WITH the Sox lol. "Hitting director Ryan Fuller said Elko was primarily tasked with curbing his chasing this offseason, but with the notion that narrowing his focus would benefit his in-zone contact rates as well. He was an avid adopter of the White Sox' new Trajekt machine in spring training, and has maintained a steady routine of slightly less fancy pitching machine work in Charlotte. "He's an intelligent kid and does his homework," said Knights manager Sergio Santos. "He's in there with [Charlotte hitting coach] Jim Rickon and what they kind of do is challenge themselves. They'll have the machine and Jim will mess with the dials and [Elko] will have to make that decision whether to swing or not, and it's definitely helped."
