Don't Stop Believin'. Nah. Not gonna happen. Only Hollywood movies. 1980 Olympic Hockey. Texas Western vs. Kentucky, NC State/Valvano or Villanova/Gtown.
-
Baldwin, if he could hit 15-18 bombs and steal 30-40 bases, suddenly becomes much more viable....but half those numbers is what I would more realistically expect.
-
You're forgetting Benintendi. Mr. Biggest Contract in team history and Fenway Legend.
-
Kyle Gibson has only surrendered four homers already to Yankees in the first, 5-0 still batting. Elias Health Check! O's boards on Defcon 3.
-
That's the logical step with Vargas 3B Meidroth/Sosa 2B and then Amaya vanquished...finally.

But Gavin Lux would be Sox MVP... So half right. Pretty sure his 870ish ops won't stand up in the long run, but we shall see. Or maybe it's Francona that's magical piece dust with him and Austin Hays. Can you imagine how much crap Harold would have taken had Kelenic ended up with the White Sox and continuing flailing away at windmills?
-
That's theoretically true...it's just that Sox fans don't get to have nice things. Or almost never. Or we briefly have them but they don't last long. So Colson's on the horizon...but he's actually an oasis, and now he's literally IN the desert. Metaphorically as well. Keith Law was the first to hype Tatis into an MiLB Top Ten and the first to cast Colson out of the Top 100. Somehow fitting.

Damn you WestEddy. Sox Twittersphere is not even as powerful as an Ian Ziering-inspired Sharknado...

https://www.thebaseballcube.com/content/player/725/ The original John "Mac" McDonald is very much still alive.

Ownership breakdown: ishbias 35%, Reinsdorfs 50%

But what would John Roberts...err, Jesus do/say? (What about Scalia and Thomas?) We're talking historical precdents at SoxTalk these days, Sullivan vs. NY Times, etc. Tray is one of us.... -
Pa-la-ci-ios. Cheerios. One goes well with milk, the other with AAAA. And to think Amaya and Dalbec are the only expendable ones? Dalbec just might be our future SS!!!

New City-Connects: Bulls / Sox collab
caulfield12 replied to BrittBurnsFan's topic in Pale Hose Talk
You know JR had to just LOVE the idea lol? The Bulls? The Bears? Together? Oh...the White Sox. Ditka vs. The Hurricane coming up next. -
There are too many Vaughn City Connect jerseys left to sell? Can't Ishbia do something billlionaire-ish like buy them all out to get Elko up?
-
Keith Law comments lol?

To Indiana Univ bb/fb?

Ownership breakdown: ishbias 35%, Reinsdorfs 50%

That's what people used to say at WSI as well...not sure they really "won" ultimately by restricting the rights to any counter opinions, but private message boards are not public green spaces either. Regardless of how profitable they may or mostly may not be. -
Tatis is Top 4-5 in MLB ops and will be in the MVP conversation until the Padres fall out of playoff convention due to injuries and NL West competition. He's now back to the .957 career ops guy he was prior to the 2023 season. But yeah...JR would have just traded him anyway. Harper we can argue for days but he would have been the smartest marketing and on field addition over Machado. But Boras.... Aranda any team in the majors could have acquired coming off his last two years. The White Sox have Quero/Hahn, Shane Smith, Crochet and Fedde...the point is not that ANY organization besides the Didgers could pull off those moves...it's just that we don't do it nearly enough for a team that won't ever spend its way into competitiveness.

Ummm...they will sell more tickets to Brewers' fans in Chicagoland than overly optimistic Elko/Ole Miss fans. Very very very few 1B have come up in recent years and just raked as rookies. Kurtz was as can't miss as you get and he's still taking time to settle in. Torkelson another example. Maybe Pete Alonso as a rookie. 98% chance we don't even remember Elko's name three years from now, but it's the backup QB syndrome. Until he actually gets exposed at the big league level.
-
Quero is actually the most hopeful addition. How's that for negativity? Vargas has played much better defense than expected and the offense is starting to slowly emerge. Meidroth was fun for awhile but is a 2B. Baldwin will be fine as a super utility guy but needs to learn a lot more at the big league level to be a net positive. Sosa's really the wild card right now where it's easy to go back and forth on his pluses and minuses...still no closer to reaching a conclusion, but, once again....his defensive issues and IQ/instincts force him to be a 700-725 ops guy and not in the 600's. But he's most definitely not a big league SS. C Quero/Teel 1B ???? Elko/Bonemer eventually 2B Meidroth SS ???? Bonemer/Bergolla overly optimistic on both defensively 3B Vargas/J.Perez LF ??? CF ??? RF B.Montgomery DH rotating Baldwin super utility

Even better, all the kings of England for first names but it's JWE monogrammed sweater (but really JEW) which is funny since my mom was about the most devoted Catholic there ever was. And back to Elko Talk!!!!!! Getting more attention than even Micker Adolfo ever did, almost folk hero status at this point. Definitely Palka Delmonico Tilson levels. https://www.mlb.com/news/white-sox-top-30-prospects-list-2022-preseason Chris Getz/Paddy's greatest hits list...the stuff of John Carpenter movies
-
That would mean admitting quite publicly that Hahn...errr Getz, was actually wrong in their assessment of Vaughn. No can do.

I think he discovered Edward is my middle name, but in actuality have always been Caulfield12 since chisox.com board wars over Kenny Williams in early 2000's, WSI banishment, etc.

Yes...clearly the entire site has jumped to your side lol. https://brewerfanatic.com/forums/topic/44615-rule-5-to-cws-shane-smith-discussion-thread/page/6/ Brewers' fans melting down as Shane Smith headed towards All Star selection and can't for the life of them figure out another Sox player who would warrant a selection lol.

https://www.mlb.com/news/tobias-myers-standout-rookie-season-brewers Former White Sox/Charlotte Knight "flameout" Tobias Meyers vs. former Brewers' prospect Shane Smith on Wed is the match up the entire baseball world has been secretly waiting for. Revenge Game. It's on like Ping Pong in Hong Kong.

They're all not in the Sox "wheelhouse". So what exactly is that wheelhouse, WestEddy? Only left handed pitchers? And what about position players? 28-32 year old journeymen? Maybe just don't draft any position players at all...like the Guardians/Indians famously have attempted.
