Sox Sign Mike Moustakas
Matt Latos incoming if he has ever been within 100 meters of a Royals major or minor league facility of any kind. https://www.royalsreview.com/2016/1/11/10734484/royals-trade-rumor-free-agent-mat-latos Getz still bitter after missing out eight years ago on that wonderful opportunity.

Cease To Padres per Passan
The one concern: Santos finished the 2023 season on the injured list with elbow inflammation. The Mariners plan to ease him into things during spring training in hopes he’ll be ready to go on opening day.

Cease To Padres per Passan
And Tanaka was never quite the Yakamoto-esque ace he was close to billed and when KW offered him one of the biggest contracts in Sox history after the ARod debacle. He was more like a 2/3 for the majority of that deal…pitching at 85-90% previous effectiveness. We will see how long Santos lasts at max velo this year.

Nike Fanatics Jerseys
At least the White Sox can be literally and figuratively cheap now.

Chris Sale is REALLY going to lose it over this…those don’t even look like decent Chinese textile factory productions. More like Bangladesh or Vietnam. You get what you pay for…

Cease To Padres per Passan
You have Urias for third with Henderson and Holliday up the middle. Actually the guy Getz should target since they will hold on tight to Mayo is Bradfield, along with Cowser OR Kjerstad. Not sure they even need a third piece like a Norby who might give you a 1.5 fWAR if everything goes right.

Cease To Padres per Passan
It’s obvious the Orioles would now try to sell a package of Kjerstad OR Cowser but Getz will try for Mayo now. Maybe the Orioles survive the first half. But that division is a death march now. They’re not sneaking up on anyone and their record in tight games was so one-sided its almost impossible to believe it could possibly hold up behind Kimbrel and some of the other unknowns that flashed last year in the bullpen.

Cease To Padres per Passan
How many times has a pitcher gutted his way through a UCL tear with platelet injections and no TJ? It might work for a month or two, but just delaying the inevitable. Plus Hall is now the 5th starter for the Brewers. Not even sure that Burnes is quite 100% with all the wear and tear over the last 3 seasons…something was just off with him last year compared to the previous two. Basallo, they can survive without. But not a frontline starter and no depth at the back end other than journeyman types.

Sox Sign Mike Moustakas
https://www.yahoo.com/sports/mlb-power-rankings-1-30-133056967.html Emulating the organzation that’s spending $400+ million in new contract dollars to finish 72-90 and still Bottom 5 in baseball. White Sox passed by Rockies, somehow.

Sox Sign Mike Moustakas
Anything over $8/9 million not in the budget...not that he played all that well last season.

Sox Sign Mike Moustakas
The three youngest players are the ones who most likely won't get to play this year...
-
Sox Sign Mike Moustakas
Sosa and Rodriguez would seem to be the most immediately impacted...feels like they already wrote off those two, along with Lee and Colas.

Sox Sign Mike Moustakas
We need Bobby Witt Jr. a lot more than all of these additions combined x 10. They weren't even a competitive organization (KC) from 2017 onwards. That's a full seven years ago...feels more like a decade, in fact. The crazy part is that dumping Chapman on the Rangers last year gave them their second most valuable player...you couldn't trade every offseason addition for him now.

Grifol resigns due to self - admitted ineptitude?

Sox Sign Mike Moustakas
MVP like Rodon in walk year...albeit $26 million more expensive.

Hosmer? Dyson again? Whit? T-Gore? Michael A. Tucker? The old old old Michael Tucker? Damon?

The first victim was a Johnson County KS mother/housewife. One of the richest counties in the US, other side of the state line. There were supposedly three shooters...one had his jaw blown or torn off.

If it’s not Luzardo…then they’re not in Cease territory in terms of the prospect ask.

Sox looking at building in South Loop
https://www.royalsreview.com/2024/2/14/23985092/what-i-like-love-and-dont-like-about-the-proposed-downtown-ballpark Looks at all the angles positive and negative of Royals downtown stadium proposal. "The Royals have also made some serious concessions, such as pledging to cover cost overruns and insurance costs, although their current agreement is non-binding. As far as what they are asking taxpayers, it certainly isn’t as onerous as some other lavish public subsidies for stadiums, simply an extension of what taxpayers are already paying. The team seems committed to a community benefits agreement with plenty of touted benefits, although the follow-through is the important thing to watch there." ..... "There are still unanswered questions remaining. The entire funding picture for the project remains a bit vague, with the team asking Jackson County taxpayers to extend the 3/8 cent sales tax another 40 years to raise about $350 million, the team pledging to pay the $1 billion costs of the ballpark district, and the remaining $650 million for ballpark funding unaccounted for." I find a general sales tax on all voters to fund the stadium rather distasteful, as sales taxes are quite regressive and it seems unfair to use public funds to subsidize billion-dollar sports franchises. If public funds are necessary, a ticket tax seems much fairer, requiring fans of the team to pay costs rather than residents who will never attend a game, Even tax increment financing - where taxes raised from the economic activity of the project are used to fund the project itself - seems preferable to asking a poor individual in eastern Jackson County who doesn’t care for sports to pay a tax to fund John Sherman’s stadium."

Mlb.com Sox projected lineup and rotation is out
Swagger Factor 0 with Tim Anderson gone and already halfway forgotten...the days of DQ sponsorships and video game covers and Jackie Robinson and FoD walkoffs, seem so far removed that it almost never even happened.
