You are largely responsible for jinxing Marvel/DC...at least until Deadpool/Wolverine hits the metroplexes. At any rate, SoxTalk probably needs some more threads about how Getz Grifol and JR suck in the meantime. And more pseudo-eclectic Jeep Wrangler talk from Downtown Brown as well.

"Megalopolis" will win Picture of the Year in at least one country of the world before this White Sox organization wins 60+ games at the big league level...

At the very least, someone needs to decorate an 80's or 90's Jeep Wrangler exactly like that City Connect White Sox NASCAR get up...

There's no doubt he's in a tough position, everyone can appreciate THAT much. Granted, he fought for the position and seemed to claim he ALONE would be ready, pretty much fully prepared to hit the ground running. Panicking based on last year's results...and not even being willing to give guys like Colas, Soto, Lee (until there was no choice), Popeye and Romy an opportunity, that just seemed to be a direction a majority of the fans pretty clearly disagreed with. Then the 3-22 start and freakouts ensued.

Surely JR has never even considered it even once.

https://www.fangraphs.com/players/jarred-kelenic/22558/stats?position=OF 0.4 fWAR Seems as if he has returned to a life of relative obscurity on a roster filled with so many studs...

Hahn and Getz had how long to come up with a legit OF candidate who could HIT and FIELD...? The idea that it's so easy to find a 2B, or RF....heck, we can't even find any CORNER players...well, that's been a popular misconception around SoxTalk for the past decade or so now, right? Of course you can find your Hunter Renfroe types, but it's going to take a lot more than DeLoach or Fletcher to move the meter in any significant way. For most teams, those difference-making players usually come out of either FA, the draft or Latin America.

All those players (minus Robert/Crochet) COMBINED have less value than Dylan Cease this past spring or ALL the trade deadline moves they made last season. You're going to be disappointed in the return if you think that you've listed some type of secret treasure chest right there. Fedde and MAYBE Pham (depending on team needs) would be the only players I'd even be considering unless I had a miracle worker of a pitching coach to get through to Kopech. DeJong would/might be fine as the final bench piece on a playoff team. But he's also the kind of player who seems like he would be totally lost without regular plate appearances. Finally, someone might consider Jimenez but not without the White Sox sending a decent amount of money along with...

https://www.espn.com/mlb/story/_/id/40158671/bad-bunny-agency-claims-mlbpa-issued-death-penalty-sanctions Bad Bunny's sports agency has bad blood/beef with MLBPA...mostly affecting Puerto Rican/Caribbean players

Seems you have come to symbolize the Getz Regime around here...even moreso than Kelenic. It could be worse...getting swept at home by the Rockies in front of 35,000 fans per game.

Ummm...the moment he becomes an everyday MLB player and not a utility guy, then you can start crowing. But for now he is Marcus Semien and Tatis rolled into one.

Wolkow if he doesn't stick in the OF.

?????

Here we go again...Baltimore stans will descend to say how he's not available to the Sox, lol.

This offseason was the time to strike...now that he's finally SEEMED to figure things out, the Angels have pretty much zero incentive to move him at this point in time with where their organization stands.

That's most trades under the KW 2000-2012 model...even then, he had lots of solid trades like Carlos Quentin/Carter and picked up so many under the radar guys like Thornton, Marte, Jenks, Sergio Santos, de Aza, etc.

https://www.mlb.com/news/mlb-trade-deadline-rumors-potential-sellers-2024 All the competition Fedde is going to face on the trade market...his name not mentioned here btw.

"The team’s two biggest trade chips might be outfielder Luis Robert (owed $12.5 million in 2024 and 2025, with $20 million club options in 2026 and 2027) and flamethrower Michael Kopech ($3 million this year with one year of arbitration-eligibility remaining)." mlb.com Mark Feisand

Re-bump.

We have a troubling trend of adding guys who will age into their 30s before those younger 20ish counterparts can even be dreamed on like Mena or this guy. We already KNOW they are certainly not going to be members of the next White Sox playoff team...so what's the point beyond repairing this year's major league record on the fringes?

Has a Top 30 number near his name of some sort...well, he can't be any worse than Ortega and has more pop I guess.

No way JR will eat that contract before Year 4.

Does this mean the end of Sheets in the OF? Probably not...

Still pretty unproven quantity at this point. Wouldn't the Orioles' fans go nuts if they started him as part of their playoff rotation (after Flaherty fiasco last year)...unless there were numerous injuries across that unit? Still needs at least 4-6 more weeks of results before this looks like a realistic scenario. Because then you're also going to have to push more guys like Thorpe or Iriarte up since Nastrini/Cannon both don't look ready yet.
