the better the bullpen..the faster i want it in the game...it depends on this bullpen comes together...if everyone in it has era's of under 4 and they have good hold and save percentages then gimme 6 from the starters and turn it over to the pen...if they pitch like last year's pen..with marte really the only guy consistant all year long (gordon and wunsch did well too) then we will need our share of CG to hang in the race

i picked the sox to win last year...this year i picked us to win 75 games...i totally agree with sutcliffe...we dont have much talent here right now...you can talk about last years team underachieving but where is it written that this team wont underachieve too???....if it does we could be looking at 100 losses on the flip side if it overachieves we could be , in a weak division , looking at close to 100 wins...there are so many question marks why would anyone who is not a sox fan think this team was going to do well when for the last 3 years they have failed miserably???...and please dont blame it on jerry manuel..if thats the only reason then we are for sure doomed to a 4th place finish... sutcliffe is just echoing what almost everyone in baseball feels about the sox...they are a 3rd place in a weak division...its up to the players to prove them wrong

i dont mind giving up a junk ball reliever for a guy we keep one year...building a bullpen is the easiest part of any GM's job...you can get quality pitchers for under a million dollars..those guys are very replacable... building a bullpen seems to be the one area KW excels in..shows you how easy it is

yeah but on who???....they need to fill the voids on both lines...if there isnt quality left to fil those voids then dont spend millions on guys that dont deserve it just to look like you are doing something... id go hard after winstrom...if we dont get him then build through the draft and save that cap money for next year

a-train , thomas jones , who cares...with the offensive line the bears will have this year no one will look good....it all starts and ends in the trenches..and until the bears address both sides of the line 5 or 6 wins is all we are looking at... missing out on the freak really hurt

i love geoff jenkins...i wanted the sox to trade for him since '00 and use him as our left fielder...but no way can we compare him to maggs....talent wise he might be close...but his production due to injury has never been there on a consistant basis...though if he has figured out how to keep his fragile body off the DL he could be a steal at 3 years 23 million...

sounds like a very good deal for both sides...i like how both buehrle and marte were willing to make deals past their free agent years...baseball would be better served if more players acted this way...marte really gave the sox a good deal here...he is worth alot more and im sure he and his agent realize that think marte just became my favorite current player
