I think best case scenario is they only lose 110 games. Worst case, they break their own record. I lean towards worst case as of today.

How's that Organizational Pitching Philosophy Coming Along?
T R U replied to WestEddy's topic in Pale Hose Talk
I have a 13 year old on my little league team this season that's throwing 71-73. I believe our field is 50-70 so its tough on a lot of these kids to even have a chance if he's throwing around the plate. Sadly, my skeleton-esque bodied 13 year old is only throwing like 55. -
Well see what happens in 2025, the dude had 482 touches last season. That's typically ominous of a decline inbound, which was going to happen anyways based off the historical season he just had, but those kind of workloads usually don't end well in todays game.

White Sox asking for "top prospects" for Robert
T R U replied to southsider2k5's topic in Pale Hose Talk
Pedro Grifol was a first time manager doing what he was told. And if the front office allowed him to do that for 75% of the worst season in franchise/baseball history before firing him then they are as incompetent as we all figured they were anyways. -
White Sox asking for "top prospects" for Robert
T R U replied to southsider2k5's topic in Pale Hose Talk
There is plenty of things to watch this season, there are numerous intriguing young pitchers and position players to be excited about that will either break camp or be with the team shortly after. There is literally zero reason to keep Robert provided he rebuilds his value and we can get a nice return for him. -

Im pretty sure the fan in the outfield just took that bomb off their face. -
With almost surely 2 quarterbacks going before the Bears pick, they are going to have a nice pool of players available to them if they stay at 10. Especially in the Edge and Tackle area.

I would be ok with an elite LT prospect provided you're near the top of the draft and those other positions are either filled or the scouts don't feel the ones available meet the criteria laid out. I always think back to when the Dolphins passed on Matt Ryan to take Jake Long with the 1st pick in the draft. Or when they passed on Aaron Rodgers to take Ronnie Brown. Just stupid decisions. The Eagles have arguably the best line in the league, and they have a 7th Round Pick (All Pro), two 2nd Round Picks, and 2 First Round picks. Of the two first round picks, one of them they drafted in 2013 (All Pro) and they other was a Jets bust they signed as a free agent and moved to guard.

Im in the never take RB in the first round camp. Short shelf lives, just a waste of a premium pick. If I was a GM, these are the only positions I would even consider in Round 1 Franchise Quarterback Elite Wide Receiver Defensive End / Linebacker if they are of the pass rush variety Shut Down Cornerback That's it. These are the difference maker positions.

Fun fact, if his 2024 was on the White Sox he would have been the worst player on the team by a large margin. -2.0 bWAR, next closest would have been Maldonado at -1.3

Burke and Iriarte today.. 4.1 IP - 12 baserunners - Luckily on 3 runs, somehow.

I was so annoyed that Cena won I turned it off right after and missed the turn. Oof. -

I think CWS jinxed Meidroth, because he looks terrible in the early going.

At least Burke has looked good.

This. I went to an article someone posted around here and it said there was a 98 year old on the board. Like what the hell is this.

Also, read the room. When it’s 10-1 and the Sox have Kd 15 times it’s probably not the best time to jump in telling people to chill. -

He’s a good poster, I wasn’t trying to single him out more so just a general comment on the situation. I get it’s spring training, it’s also a large majority of the guys who are going to be on this roster. We knew they were bad already, I don’t think it matters much what they’re working on. -

There’s always going to be wild takes in game threads, it’s in the moment reactions. Obviously, your W/L record in spring training is meaningless that’s not really a debate. I could do without having to read the constant battle of this team is terrible Vs. stop complaining about everything but it is what it is at this point in time. -

What does that have to do with being concerned about how bad he was last season? -

At the same time, I wouldn’t be using Colson as a basis for an argument. He sucked last year and is swinging through 89 mph fastballs today. There’s definitely cause for concern with him, especially how important he is to the future of this team.
