Steve Wilson back, Tim Hill DFAd
Depends on what happens with Robert, Crochet, and Fedde trades. If done right, yeah I could see them playoff competitive by 2027/2028.

What was the average length of time from a 100-plus-loss season to a playoff appearance? The average time to the next postseason berth for one of these teams during the Wild Card Era -- we’re using that period for this question because since the implementation of the Wild Card in 1995, there has been more opportunity to reach the postseason -- was 6.6 years.

Minnesotas look real nice, apparently they debut tomorrow.

Steve Wilson back, Tim Hill DFAd
He should have never been on the team to begin with, seems like it was just a product of the mindset that were going to fix all these defensive issues and this team will be 15 games better than 2023. Oof.

Well, not everyone. Pretty sure there was 1 or 2 posters thinking they could push 90 wins.

Yeah I agree, he should be the type of player getting a chance on a team like this. He was just lumped into the grouping of players that are producing value and after his hot start he is pretty much the same as every other lousy player currently on the roster.

Also want to point out that Julks has been pretty bad recently. I think people started beating their chests on him a little too early.

6/12 Sox @ Seattle 8:40PM CT
Even if they fire him now they wouldn’t be paying two managers, someone in house would just interim for the rest of the year.

Is anyone else having trouble with mlbtv? I keep picking the Sox broadcast but it just plays seattles.

White Sox calling up Thorpe
So far, he has done nothing to assume he can't be an ace. Hes a top 50 prospect, his production in the minors was outstanding, he has an elite off speed pitch. Just because he doesn't throw 98 doesn't mean he can't be an ace.

Story on Sox trade possibilities...
Well it’s going to be 3-4 years minimum, so I went with the odds of Thorpe not making it. Would love to be wrong though.

Story on Sox trade possibilities...
The current roster as of today. My guess would be zero.

White Sox calling up Thorpe
Yeah the sooner they flush this trash out of here and start giving the young guys longer looks it will at least be enjoyable to watch even if they lose.

MLB Players' Poll: White Sox second worst org after A's
Well we used Lopez as a reliever from 2021 onwards (and he was damn good) and now is a starter in Atlanta. Im not sure how that correlates to the discussion, but at least says we probably weren't using him right. Diekman was terrible for us in 2022, and even worse in 2023. This was 30 innings, but over a what 3 month stint here? That's a decent sampling of awfulness.

MLB Players' Poll: White Sox second worst org after A's
All those hitters were either washed, one year wonders, or never were anything to begin with. The pitchers though, that's pretty alarming. Every single one of them, better with someone else than they were with the 23 Sox.

White Sox "actively seeking" packages for Robert
I would imagine him being traded, doesn't make a whole lot of sense to do that within the next month.

MLB Players' Poll: White Sox second worst org after A's
I mean, were not talking about a guy that had a 4.00 ERA here then went to Tampa and it was 2.50. This guy had a 7.94 ERA for us, gets DFA'd, and then less than 2 weeks later is like a completely different player.
-
MLB Players' Poll: White Sox second worst org after A's
Yep, its not so much "This player stunk with us but magically became good with them". Other organizations have the tools / personnel to find out how to use said player to their strengths or how to get the best out of them. The Diekman example is a perfect case of it.
-
White Sox "actively seeking" packages for Robert
It depends, if you want to say hes always injured sure thats a discussion point. He put up 3.6 bWAR in 2021 in 68 games. I don't think that has anything to do with him not delivering on his potential.
-
White Sox "actively seeking" packages for Robert
Moncada was a #1 overall prospect who was acquired by trading one of the best pitchers this organization has ever had. Hes been here 9 years and has delivered exactly 2 seasons worth a s%*#, everything else he might as well be Nicky Lopez. He is 100% going to have his option declined at the end of the year. Its pretty laughable to see a "They're pretty much the same guy" take. The only thing they have in common is they constantly get injured, Robert has been a difference maker every time he is on the field. The same cannot be said about Moncada.

MLB Players' Poll: White Sox second worst org after A's
Yeah that definitely seems like it happens 90% of the time. I don't get the turnover comment, this is one of the places where you practically stay forever regardless of results.

What turnover though? With players? Because its certainly not with leadership and front office people.
