  1. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Apr 12, 2016 -> 09:19 AM) This is some asinine stuff right here. It is an insult to everyone who works really hard at the page. If it is the way you really think of FS, then you both should find new places to post. ????
  2. QUOTE (SoxAce @ Apr 11, 2016 -> 11:16 PM) Definitely crossed my mind and I'm seriously hoping there's no complications there. It's a pretty solid theory. Based on a tweet I got today, FutureSox probably knows the reason but has apparently been asked not to say anything. Baby issues would seem like a highly sensitive personal issue I could see not wanting leaked.
  3. QUOTE (3GamesToLove @ Apr 10, 2016 -> 05:47 PM) The straight doubleheader is a cool thing and is obviously rare, but we did have one just last year against the Reds. My friend and I had tickets for the Saturday already, then Friday got rained out, so we got two games for the price of one. And that price was just $5 apiece because I'd used my vouchers from the previous fan appreciation day. That was a fun day (SouthSideSox meetup, too), though cold. Cueto pitched well int he first game, then Rodon made his first start in the second one. On the other hand, I also went to a straight doubleheader in 2013. I want to say it was the same day as the Blackhawks parade, if memory serves. That day sucked, and I'd bought those in advance and was really looking forward to it. Anyway, I had tickets for today. My dad and I made it to the park and were in the team store when they made the announcement. We lucked out that it was made up as a straight DH, meaning that our tickets can be exchanged for ANY game! I think you're right. I've been to all 3 parades and I seem to remember trying to convince our group to make it for the 2nd game of that DH. I also went to that Reds' one you speak of from last year.
  4. QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Apr 10, 2016 -> 10:46 PM) I can't tell if this is serious. Eddy Alvarez, after missing 3 years of baseball, posts two seasons of phenomenal numbers, and you think he might be released this summer if he struggles in AA? I mean, I get doubting him, but that's patently ridiculous, not to mention he's played all of four games so far. Yeah, I was quite confused by that statement as well.
  5. QUOTE (Rowand44 @ Apr 8, 2016 -> 07:22 PM) Ya the whole "this is why he shouldn't play left field" narrative for this play is pretty silly. But it is a good example of it, injury notwithstanding. The injury was bad luck, the event that brought those 2 players to collide was lack of talent between the two of them. The Cubs have an atrocious defensive OF outside of Heyward obviously.
  6. QUOTE (JUSTgottaBELIEVE @ Apr 8, 2016 -> 05:30 PM) I have a hard time moving on when no posts like this are directed at Steve. It's not my forum so the mods can choose to run it however they choose but it sets a poor example in my opinion. And this isn't the first time I've read posts from Steve in which he was mocking or condescending of other posters. I guess that is condoned here. That's unfortunate. Accurate
  7. How is it possible that we never cease to have a collection of some of the dumbest players in baseball? The mental mistakes our teams make year in and year out are unbelievable. I can handle players lacking skill. I can't handle players being stupid and unaware.
  8. Was on his site within the first few seconds that the hats were available. Was going to buy the black one until I noticed they were all snapbacks.
  9. QUOTE (SoxPride18 @ Apr 7, 2016 -> 10:35 AM) Haven't bought the game yet, but has the minor rosters come out yet? Assuming you mean OSFM, I highly doubt it. In hoping by the end of April, but I don't think they gave an ETA yet
  10. For those who don't know Chance....here's a taste of a few songs of his that I like. And now since he's taken on a more role-model position for the youth of Chicago, he does more positive and "cleaner" songs like...
  11. Love Chance. Saw him a few years ago when he was included on Childish Gambino's tour. Acid Rap is a classic.
  12. QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Apr 4, 2016 -> 01:26 PM) I think that of Chipotle. But I'm telling you....they have the purest Coke around, scientifically.
  13. Scientifically, McDonalds Coke is the best coke you can possibly get, and probably the best pop you can get overall.
  14. Predictions brought to you by The Show 2016.... Sox win 1-0 Sale, CG, 4 H, 0 R, 3 BB, 9 K Eaton, 1-5, 2B Rollins, 1-4, 2B Frazier 2-4, HR Melky, 1-2, 2 BB Lawrie/Garcia, 1-4.
  15. QUOTE (knightni @ Mar 31, 2016 -> 03:44 PM) I can't draft a catcher that high. It feels like a waste. QUOTE (iWin4Ron @ Mar 31, 2016 -> 07:11 PM) Eliminate him. As noted above, really hate taking Posey @ 12 overall. Much better players are available there. Did you pick Stanton @ number 2 overall? Over Trout/Harper/Goldschmidt? Sano and Seager were also drafted earlier than i'd expect them to be. Not a big fan of the Jansen pick or the Lindor pick. The rest of your draft seems to be filled with solid guys and sleepers which is nice. Although, where's your other RP's? Casilla and Jansen is all? Deff. not a big fan of the start of your draft tho, especially if you choose to draft stanton over one of Trout/Harper/Goldschmidt. Each team had 2 keepers, I kept Stanton and Posey, and the way it works on ESPN is that it autodrafts them as your first 2 picks of the draft. My first "real" pick was Arrieta, which was the 2nd "real" pick of the draft. I had a pool of Arrieta, Abreu, Gordon, Machado, Bautista, Harvey, Votto, Kluber, Davis, DeGrom to pick from. I felt like Arrieta was the best of those. I never had access to Trout, Harper, Goldschmidt, Kershaw, Sale, Price, or pretty much any of the top 20 players in baseball, which is why I was surprised I got Arrieta.

  17. Apparently I'm the only person here who likes Pepsi/Mtn Dew better.
  18. QUOTE (Tony @ Apr 3, 2016 -> 10:50 PM) Ha, I'm on the opposite, can't hit a lick with Lawire. Frazier rakes. It's funny how people can be so different. Also, loving analog flick. Hitting SO much better. I prefer the stride hitting. Muscle memory versus making 2 different movements to produce 2 different types of swings.
  19. QUOTE (dakuda @ Apr 3, 2016 -> 09:22 PM) I think that if you log in to your mlb.com account on their phone/device, then go through the steps, it should activate it on your account. I don't know if they have a way or desire to track that though. The MLB.tv service isn't tied to the phone once it is activated. I have used it on my Android TV, desktop and phone since I activated it. Sweetness. Thanks.
  20. QUOTE (Jose Abreu @ Apr 3, 2016 -> 02:20 PM) ... whoops Trying to figure out what other milestones I can root for.
  21. Is it possible for that subscriber to sign up, and then give me their mlb.tv account? Or is it tied to that phone? Basically I have AT&T, but I can probably find a TMobile friend who doesn't care about baseball.
  22. QUOTE (Quinarvy @ Apr 2, 2016 -> 03:27 PM) This somehow made the Miller trade even worse. My Dbacks friend is on the ledge. Although I argued this doesn't make the Miller trade any worse, it just makes it hurt even more. Plus it's hard for that trade to be any worse.
  23. QUOTE (Jose Abreu @ Apr 2, 2016 -> 11:52 AM) 4 points for Panarin and 2 for Kane... Kane has 96 points, meaning he has 4 games to collect 4 points if he wants to get to 100. I'll be at game #82. Hope to see #88 get #100.
