  1. QUOTE (danman31 @ Sep 14, 2014 -> 12:21 AM) I had to watch the replay of that on ESPN3 after reading this. While it's crazy, the QB simply can't run the ball there. That's the risk when you stay in bounds. You risk the referee fumbled the ball 10 feet away and burning the end of the game clock? Lol. I agree they should have gone all passes there at the end, but what a horses*** way to lose the game. How can there not be something in the rules that allows the refs to allow them to take one last play with 1 second left to end the game? I mean, there is no doubt they get that play off if the ref doesn't lose the football.
  2. Hell on Wheels...... that was a bit surprising. I mean, you figured it would happen this season, but I didn't expect it 1 episode after an entire 60 minutes was spent on him.
  3. QUOTE (Jake @ Sep 13, 2014 -> 11:37 PM) I just can't get behind Chromecast when Roku exists. I'll easily pay the extra few bucks for Roku streaming stick to get the amazing search function, many more apps (Amazon Prime anyone?), and actual physical remote. See, I'll never get the Roku BECAUSE of the need for a physical remote. I got enough remotes lying around every room of the house. I love being able to search something through my phone which is WAY easier than searching something using a remote control. And since we all pretty much have our phones on us at all times anyway, it's better to just be tethered to one thing and not the phone AND a remote when I'm watching something w/ the Chromecast.
  4. I'm sure no one watched the Ball State/ISU game, but let me fill you in on how it ended.... Ball State down by 7, they have the ball at the 50 with about a minute left. They drive down the field, get to about the 10 yard line. The QB Ozzie Mann runs the ball and gets stopped at about the 1 yard line, with about 8 seconds left and no timeouts. All the players rush to the line to get the last play off, and as the ref is running to the line with the ball, he gets bumped in to by a lineman, and drops the ball, which bounds a few yards away, and the clock expires while the ref if corralling the ball.........Game over, no last play of the game, the refs immediately sprint off the field to boos by the crowd. Can't make that s*** up.
  5. I guess I should have posted this here instead, but the WatchESPN app + Chromecast is amazing. Get to watch pretty much every Ball State game on the big screen TV.
  6. WatchESPN app + Chromecast is amazing. Love being able to watch my Ball State Cardinals on TV every week.
  7. So last night I was involved in my 3rd career bar fight. This time it was a racial thing, so that was a little weird to be in the middle of. But perhaps the weirdest part of the night was when I went to bed I had a dream that I was picked to be an extra in a new Major League movie. For this scene, I was playing the catcher for the pitcher next to Charlie Sheen warming up in the bullpen. I remember being at a loss for words when I walked right next to Charlie to take my spot. Then in between takes, Sheen was throwing me a few pitches, but he could throw an insane slider and curveball combo, and I couldn't catch any of them. I was just diving out of the way when he threw a 12-6 curve in there, it was crazy and I was amazed how good of a pitcher he really was. Then the dream ended I think.
  8. QUOTE (chw42 @ Sep 12, 2014 -> 11:37 PM) They managed to improve the battery life with a bigger and higher resolution screen. I played around with it at Best Buy and I was blown away at how small the phone was given that it had a 5.5 inch screen. Even though the back was plastic, it felt pretty good in the hand since it wasn't glossy. Build quality seemed pretty good. BETTER battery life? I've already squeezed 70 hours out of my G2 at one point.
  9. QUOTE (greg775 @ Sep 12, 2014 -> 10:12 PM) There are ways to build a team that have nothing to do with where the team finishes the year before. Rooting for the Sox to finish as low as possible IMO is counterproductive. According to what you've said, the ONLY this team can rebuild and make you happy is to rebuild through trading, which is VERY hard to do when your major league team is full of young players, and your minor league system is bad.
  10. QUOTE (Eminor3rd @ Sep 11, 2014 -> 11:34 AM) Super, super awesome early list with great info: http://www.fangraphs.com/blogs/2015-mlb-draft-top-51/ Great link. Did anyone else read #12, and immediately think Gordon Beckham?
  11. QUOTE (Jenksismyb**** @ Sep 12, 2014 -> 05:00 PM) Thank you. I literally had no clue what that meant. Light switch didn't make much sense! I was lucky enough to never get a switch, or belt, or spoon, or really any spanking that I can remember. The one thing my dad did do was pull my ear to make me go do something, and I f***ed hated him for that. I would get scabs under my earlobe from him pulling them. Once I got old enough to smack his arms away and yell at him to stop touching me, it never happened again. But that's nothing compared to a lot of people, I'm sure.
  12. QUOTE (Jenksismyb**** @ Sep 12, 2014 -> 04:13 PM) What the hell does disciplining his son with a switch mean? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Switch_(corporal_punishment)
  13. QUOTE (greg775 @ Sep 12, 2014 -> 02:49 PM) No, I really don't. My stance is I want my favorite team to win every game it plays and then at the end of the season see where the team fell and assess the future at that point. I really am not interested in the day to day "what if" draft game. I'd rather the Sox start beating Cleveland, Detroit and KC on a regular basis. As well as Minnie. And you want them to win a lot of games next season without signing any major free agents, thus relying on the prospects that you don't care about. That's an interesting line of thinking.
  14. Yeah, if I were to get a new phone right now, the first one I would look at is the G3. I've heard amazing things about it, and currently owning the G2, I can't even imagine how they improved it so much.
  15. Sale start last night earned him 0.5 WAR. That's a gigantic sum for 1 start, and he is now just 0.3 behind Felix, and 0.7 behind Kluber with 6 and 7 less starts respectively. If those guys have a real stinker either of their last 2 starts and Sale does well in his last two, it will be hard to ignore a guy who has accrued similar amount of WAR in that many less starts. I mean, we are all choosing to not care about Kershaw having the same amount of starts as Sale in the NL.
  16. QUOTE (greg775 @ Sep 12, 2014 -> 02:45 AM) Please don't say I should be upset about a draft pick. I am upset when Sox lose, not over some unknown draft pick for gosh sakes. You root for what you want, but please don't tell me to feel upset about something I consider worthless. So you don't care about draft picks OR signing a top free agent this offseason? Because that's going to be what happens if the Sox end up falling out of the top 11 picks; they won't sign any top free agents. No James Shields, no Victor Martinez, no Russell Martin, no Nelson Cruz, No John Lester. Basically the Sox could sign Yasmani Tomas and maybe Edison Volquez or Justin Masterson.
  17. QUOTE (StrangeSox @ Sep 11, 2014 -> 09:49 PM) Torrey Smith is not doing so hot for me. Me neither. Had a standing trade of Torrey Smith for either Bell, or Alfred Morris, and my buddy never replied to the trade, even though he said he'd give any of those 3 for Torrey Smith. Now, I highly doubt he makes the trade.
  18. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Sep 12, 2014 -> 12:18 AM) Money will not be an issue with the Sox draft picks. And that is a FACT, take it to the bank Well that's not really the discussion, since there are certain limits they could spend. The better the pick, the higher the limit.
  19. The League was much better this week, in my opinion. Baby Geoffrey's meaty clackers. Hahaha.
  20. QUOTE (Middle Buffalo @ Sep 11, 2014 -> 04:23 PM) So U2's latest album is free on iTunes. One listen through and nothing stands out (maybe the first song is the strongest single). Sometimes it takes a few listens, but it mostly sounds like something that would be in the background in a movie. Or free with the announcement of a new phone.
  21. QUOTE (Bigsoxhurt35 @ Sep 11, 2014 -> 09:18 AM) Nice work by the hound. Let's see some more starts but at the end the day they're major league hitters. Finally, clutch hit by Avi. Nice to see and he had a BB. Hopefully he finishes strong. I think I read he has 4 BB and only 2 K so far this September. Obviously a small sample size, but in twice as many games in August he had only 3 BB and 20 K.
  22. And we are pretty much losing a game on everyone again. We are the only s***ty team winning this week. Ugh. I'll be REAL REAL upset, and you all should too, if the Sox don't end up with a top 11 pick. We won't be able to use all that money we have on FA without losing our 1st RD draft pick, and that could be a huge blow to rebuilding our system.
  23. Scored an unexpected $60 today and have been deciding if I should flip a coin between NHL 15 and Madden 15. I'd be getting NHL simply because I love hockey and it would be weird not buying a hockey game for once. On the other hand, I haven't owned a Madden game in 5 years, and I feel like I need a football game to play one of these years. Either way, I've only got 2 games for my PS4 right now, and the only one I KNOW I am getting is Far Cry 4 in November, so I may want something to tide me over once I finally beat Watchdogs and trade that in.
  24. QUOTE (illinilaw08 @ Sep 11, 2014 -> 05:45 PM) I've had a Vizsla named Finnegan for the past 2.5 years. He is, with all due respect to every dog that came before him, the best dog I have ever had. Sweet with friend's kids. Great with other dogs, and amazing as a hiking buddy out here in CO. They are an extremely energetic breed, so you need to have the time to wear them out, but just wonderful dogs. We're thinking about adding a second dog in a year or two and a Swiss Mountain Dog is at/near the top of the list, but after this dog, we'll probably always have a Vizsla in our lives. This is an interesting post because a Vizsla was one of the first breeds we were looking in to to replace our Golden. After I discovered the Brittany breed, we immediately went with that type, but we did do some Vizsla research prior to that. And the other breed I was looking in to for myself when I get my own dog is a Swiss Mountain Dog. They look so cool and strong, but almost golden retriever like as well. I would love to meet one in real life to see how they act.
  25. QUOTE (bigruss22 @ Sep 11, 2014 -> 05:15 PM) My best friend growing up got a beautiful golden retriever puppy, it was absolutely the best dog I have ever met. I was around that dog a ton, and I heard him bark once, and that was to protect me from two dogs who tried attacking us when I was walking him once. Unfortunately, he got bone cancer at the age of 7 and died about a year or so after. The family and myself were crushed, they had no idea about the genetic issues so the complications came as a complete surprise. I would love to have one someday, but I would be hesitant because of that very reason. We got lucky with our two Goldens I guess because the first one lived to 13, and the second one died this May, and she was a couple months shy of her 13th birthday. I'm expecting our Brittany puppy to live to around 13-14 as well, since it's a smaller breed.
