  1. "Making points" is being far too kind. But hey, at least he got to throw his "ball washer" insult in there.... ??
  2. How does the money come out in this deal? Aren't the Hawks taking on more money after this swap?
  3. Can someone help me understand how Victor Torres has signed, but also tweeted out this today....?? Is it possible that FutureSox and I are both following the wrong prep Puerto-Rican baseball player named Victor Torres?
  4. Stiever, my darkhorse pick from the day he was drafted. Sheets, my darkhorse pick for 2019. ??
  5. Yep, only been with Vanessa for about a year now.
  6. He will be 100% ready for ST. He will be ready to pitch this fall if they really wanted him to, but he already said and agreed in an interview that the Sox will not want him to ramp it up at the end of the year just to shut it right back down. He agreed the best solution is just to hold off until the spring.
  7. Me too. I had tickets for the original Abreu bobblehead game. I am SO STOKED!
  8. I found this really interesting on his B-R page... "Kenny Williams Jr. is the son of Kenny Williams. He was drafted by his father in the 36th round of the 2004 amateur draft but did not sign. After limited time at the University of Arizona, he transferred to Wichita State for his junior year, but was declared academically ineligible. In the 2007 amateur draft, the Colorado Rockies took him in the 32nd round. He returned to Wichita State and hit .317/.385/.447 in 2008. He was drafted by his father's Chicago White Sox in the 6th round but his father did not want to pick him due to the added pressure of playing in the organization he was GM for. The team's scouts, led by director Doug Laumann, pushed hard for Williams Jr. and the choice was made."
  9. Easily. Backseats are not small at all.
  10. I really wanted Pavin Smith or Adam Haseley. Once it actually got to the Sox pick, I wanted David Peterson or Alex Faedo. Peterson is doing alright. Faedo is having a pretty sexy 2019 in AA right now. Even though I knew nothing about Burger prior to the selection, I still like his offensive profile. Just sucks he's been so damn unlucky with injuries so far.
  11. Nah, he doesn't sell out for home-runs. Dude sucks.
  12. If he's willing to make the jump to 100% electric, sure. But for a lot of people I know, it makes them nervous to have to plan out their mileage more than they do with gas.
  13. Man, those who follow pretty closely seem to be pretty pissed about Kirby Dach. I mean, at least the Hawks didn't go way off the board at #3, but seeing people say Byram was the consensus #3 for a while and then the Hawks pass on him kind of sucks. Wonder if that shows their confidence in Boqvist and the hefty amount of D-man prospects in the system. But still, those guys are all tradeable if you had to.
  14. He will be. But it might be more of an August type thing at this rate. Still crossing my fingers for July.
  15. I have to leave for work so I can't look it up, but I feel like the heel injury happened closer to like June 10th or something, and it was supposed to be 10 days. So yeah, he should be back like any day now.
  16. I'm cornering the prospect market on water polo players and I will NOT be infringed upon.
  17. Get a Chevy Volt. You'll fill up gas every other month with your usage.
  18. I have always been super interested in this kid. Such a strange route to baseball.
  19. On my way to go pick up my dream car! Didn't get home delivery, so my brother is taking me to the Grand Avenue location in Chicago.
  20. He may only hit .230 or so, but his OBP should be around .360+. That would put him 2nd behind McCann on this team.
  21. Got my VIN. Delivery is set for Monday, and instead of making me drive in to the city to get the car, they are delivering it to my house. Niiiiice.
  22. I've been saying it since Day 1. DJ LeMahieu. 9 season, 56 HR, BB rate at 7%, strikeout rate at 15% (Madrigal should be lower), .299 career hitter, tremendous defender. Not a star, but the last 4 seasons he's been a 2-4 fWAR guy. Take that profile, reduce the strikeouts a bit, but add a ton more speed. That could be a 3-5 fWAR guy for Madrigal averaging about 6-8 HR a year.
