It's been interesting reading a Rays message board after the Q incident. After he was thrown out, they all were saying "f*** AJ!" "AJ is an asshole", and basically everyone blamed AJ for the throw behind Zobrist, and also no one there said anything about it being a bad call. Then, when De Aza got hit, someone said "Good, I hope his career is over", and later referred to De Aza as a baby back b**** who can't keep his legs together, and getting hit was his own fault. THEEEEENNN, someone posted about hearing the possibility of Howell hitting De Aza on purpose, and they said it's nearly impossible to have that kind of control, and that AJ fouling those pitches in to Molina seemed more likely to be on purpose than Howell trying to hit De Aza.

THROW OUT AJ! HE INTENTIONALLY FOULED THAT ONE IN TO MOLINA!!!!!!
-
Robin got thrown out? Umm.....ok then, how about you get a little then Robin, please?
-
If this is going to start being the cost, we need to HIT THEM, not throw BEHIND THEM.

WOW. WOW. WOW.

Have yourself a series, Upton!

QUOTE (greg775 @ May 30, 2012 -> 01:00 PM) Is this game on WGN? Yes.

What did AJ do yesterday that made that intentional? Also, I thought for sure he would flip the ball back to the pitcher. Also..... HOT FIRE!!! COMING THROUGH!!

QUOTE (chw42 @ May 30, 2012 -> 12:50 PM) I wouldn't want Rios in CF again. I am just talking about that collection of power we would have. Dunn, Konerko, Quentin, Viciedo, Rios, AJ. Woahzah.
-
Speaking of Q, did anyone see old Q hit a HR yesterday at Wrigley? God, he looks so strong when he is belting homeruns. Could you imagine the power this team would have with Q in the OF instead of De Aza?
-
Damnit. Dunn flicked that ball to the track in CF.

QUOTE (Jake @ May 30, 2012 -> 09:36 AM) I know Lawrie is very talented and everything...but he seems like such an asshole. I don't know if I could root for him. He's not even a lovable asshole like AJ Agreed. -

QUOTE (Steve9347 @ May 29, 2012 -> 03:40 PM) That article blows. Brett Lawrie OPS - .677 Gordon Beckham OPS - .644 Brett Lawrie May OPS - .649 Gordon Beckham May OPS - .763 Brett Lawrie's flash in the pan rookie season - 43 games Gordon Beckham's rookie season - 103 games It's as if these morons don't even watch baseball games. They just remember Lawrie was a big-time fantasy sleeper being overdrafted in leagues, and pay no attention to what's actually happening on the field. I mean, COME THE F*CK ON, PEOPLE. Beckham is a great glove at 2b, and much younger, and playing quite well. He has a .644 OPS this year with that plus defense, while Hudson has a .593 OPS. Go away, everyone at ESPN. I surely hope you aren't saying you'd rather have Gordon Beckham than Brett Lawrie.... -
I don't know anything about this feathered thing, but I just hope new Q can give us 6+ innings of 2-3 run baseball. I'd be elated with that.

Oh hey BJ, what did you think of Chris Sale on Monday afternoon?

Refuse to pay tip ~ Family locked in restaurant

QUOTE (Balta1701 @ May 29, 2012 -> 02:44 PM) This happens? Oh my god, all the time. I almost knocked a woman out last weekend. I don't think I actually would have, but I was so pissed off I had to go to the back and calm down for a minute. She had a party of 8. Then it was 10. Then it was 12. We had a ton of huge parties that night, so i told her it would be about 45-1 hour before I could seat them all together, or about 10 minutes if they wanted to break up. She said they can break up. So I showed her the 3 tables (each seat 4 people) that I was going to put them at. She said ok. I put the menus down and seat them. Then she says "Naaahhh, you know what, we are going to take this big one instead" and tried to tell her that the three tables I gave her were all within the same section, so it would all be the same server, and she said "You know what, at this point, it don't even matta. We gon take that big booth over there too because we all finna eat. They too hungry and I ain't playing right now." I said, "Yeah, but you were fine with the other tables a minute ago, and I don't want to have servers taking tables in other sections. She then ignored me and told her kids to go grab the big booth that I had saved for another group of people at the door. I was livid, but our managers would never stand up against a guest, so she got her way and I just had to ignore her the rest of the night. -
Refuse to pay tip ~ Family locked in restaurant

QUOTE (Jenksismyb**** @ May 29, 2012 -> 02:37 PM) I always found tipping to be ridiculous, in just about any venue, especially restaurants. My wife and I normally go to dinner on friday or saturday night, anywhere from $40-50 for the meal between the two of us. I get a beer or two, she doesn't. So the total work in about 30 minutes is (1) bringing menus, (2) taking order, (3) bringing a beer or two, (4) delivering food, (5) bringing the check. And I'm supposed to fork over $10 bucks for that? $10 bucks for what amounts to running 4 to 5 errands? I tip guys at the Cell 20-30% because they're hauling a s*** ton of beer up and downstairs so that I can remain seated and enjoy the game. THAT is work. Bringing me some paper and a plate is not. I agree 100% that tipping should be outlawed and waitstaff should just be paid a decent wage. I know someone who puts a stack of 10 one-dollar bills on the table and tells the server "This is your tip. Every time you mess up, I take away a dollar." I always thought that was a good idea, but a ballsy one too. -
Refuse to pay tip ~ Family locked in restaurant
ChiliIrishHammock24 replied to Texsox's topic in SLaM
While we are on the topic of this kind of stuff, I can not STAND when guests come in and refuse to sit where I seat them. I can understand if they want a booth over a table, I can understand if they want a bigger booth over a 2-seater one, and I can understand if they want to sit by the bathroom or sit near a window so they can watch their car/motor cycle. But I can't stand when they don't even ASK if they can have a new seat. Not to sounds racially insensitive, but I work in a town that is about 50% white and 50% minority, and about 90% of the time it's a black person telling me in a ghetto tone "Nahh nahh, we ain't finna sit there. We gone sit right hurr" and will move themselves. Or sometimes they will stop following me and go to their own seat "Yeaaa, uh, we need menus over here, we ain't gunna sit on that side." It's very frustrating. It's funny and a little bit awkward when some of our black servers come up to me and say "Come on man, don't sit me any more black tables, I can't stand them". lol.....umm? Anyway, yeah, pretty much anyone who doesn't have the decency to ask if they can have a new table pisses me off. Do people not understand hosts have a rotation to follow? And when someone gets skipped, the servers b**** at us for skipping them, even if it's not our fault? And then if one section gets triple sat, they get in the weeds and we get blamed? -

QUOTE (BigSqwert @ May 29, 2012 -> 02:29 PM) Even though an infant will not order a meal many servers, including myself back in the day, will look at is as additional work for that table. "Can you grab us a high chair?" "Can we get some crackers?" "Can we get some crayons?" "Can you clean up this drink my kid knocked over?" etc. I had no problem adding infants to the headcount of a table when it turned out I had to perform additional work. Servers had to do that? At Chilis, hosts get the high chairs and crayons, bus boys clean up any messes or spills. -

QUOTE (JoeCoolMan24 @ Mar 27, 2012 -> 06:08 PM) Chris Sale make the all-star game. Viciedo is traded by the deadline. Morel wins the GG. Gavin Floyd is traded. Peavy pitches 180+ innings. Addison Reed wins the ROY. Well, I am on track for maybe 1/2 of these. Sale looks like a legit ASG contender, Peavy is on pace for well over 180 innings, and Reed is probably competing with Yu Darvish and Drew Smyly for ROY.
