QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Sep 20, 2011 -> 09:20 PM) I must say this might be the worst Tosh ever. Yeah, that was a waste.
  2. Pierre, Ramirez, Konerko, Dunn, Viciedo, De Aza, Vizquel, Flowers, Beckham
  3. Some of those names Rogers lists are awful. I don't want Joey Cora managing this team. He's just more of the same and won't change the culture of the team. When Ozzie goes, Cora, Walker, and probably Baines have to leave. The rest, I don't care either way. I'm on the Sandy Alomar or Dave Martinez bandwagon. And as much as I don't like La Russa personally, I'd put up with him for a year or two if Joe McEwing is on the bench with him.
  4. Sox are 95-115 in the division the last three years. Chicago Tough.

QUOTE (Milkman delivers @ Sep 19, 2011 -> 07:52 PM) I'm kind of disappointed in the lack of talk about last night's Breaking Bad. It was so freaking good. Besides too much Walter Jr, that was a great episode. Especially the scenes that took place in Mexico. Next week should be interesting.
  6. Marlins walk off the Braves. We gotta race in the NL wildcard... Atl 87-67 - Stl 84-69 2.5 SF 83-70 3.5 Braves: 2 at Fla 3 at Was 3 vs Phi Cardinals: 3 vs NY 3 vs Chi 3 at Hou Giants: 3 at LA 3 at Arz 3 vs Col
  7. 6-5 O's going to the 9th. A couple runs here would be good.
  8. QUOTE (fathom @ Sep 18, 2011 -> 03:35 PM) Beckham is just freaking awful at the plate. Really seems like he needs a change of scenery. I hope they give him one more year with a new coaching staff around him. The Sox are going to suck next year with or without him, so they might as well see if they can turn him around while he's here.
  9. Giants crushing the ball lately. They'll win today, and if the D-backs lose, they'll be down to a 4 game lead with 3 head-to-head left.
  10. 4-2 rays, bottom 4 Price got smoked with a line drive off the right chest area in the 3rd.
  11. Rays with 4-0 lead. Looking like a 2 game lead for Boston with 10 left. Boston: 4 vs Bal 3 at NY 3 at Bal Tampa Bay: 4 at NY 3 vs Tor 3 vs NY
  12. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Sep 17, 2011 -> 10:33 AM) It's all about what the total salary is. If we have to drop below $110 million, 2/$20 requires trading Quentin and Danks. U up for that? I think Quentin's done with the Sox for sure. And I don't even think they'll get a lot back for him. Sox have 11 players at $88 mil next year... Peavy 17.0 Dunn 14.0 Konerko 12.0 Rios 12.0 Floyd 7.0 Pierzynski 6.0 Thornton 5.5 Ramirez 5.0 Crain 4.5 Ohman 2.5 Viciedo 2.5 It pains me to say, but I'd let Buehrle go unless the Sox can get him back cheap. Danks being arb eligible--I think the smarter move may be to keep him and hold as a trade piece mid-season next year if they fall out of it. Floyd at 7 mil would be attractive to some teams. I don't think the Sox are going to be good the next two years anyway, so I could live with the rotation next year starting out to be: Danks, Peavy, Humber, Sale, Stewart If all goes right, Danks bounces back in his contract year; Peavy gets his regulatr offseason program going and he comes back better in his contract year; Humber is Humber and an ok starter; maybe Sale is an ace in the making and has a great season (could happen), and Stewart is a good 5th starter. All of this could happen, but everything has to go right.
  13. Tigers 6 outs away. Treadmill guy isn't going to make it. Trying to run a marathon during the game.
  14. RIP Frances Bay. Jerry stole the marble rye from her.
  15. Beckham is 25 today, and he's a career .227 hitter at home. Good work!
  16. I know a team that's getting some Dairy Queen tonight.
  17. Too bad this is how Buehrle is finishing up. Unless they get him back at one year, or a cheap 2-year deal, I'm starting to think it may be best to let him go. Peavy, Rios and Dunn's contracts are really going to force some tough decisions.
  18. Beckham--watching him in the College WS, I was rooting for the Sox to get him. And then when they got him, I thought he'd be better than this. Never going to let that happen again. I also remember thinking guys like Corwin Malone and Aaron Myette would be something based on good minor league stats. I don't fall for that anymore.
  19. Tigers clinch tonight with an Indians loss and a Tigers win at 1am eastern time.
  20. 2 weeks left. Playoffs Stand this way... Braves at Diamondbacks Brewers at Phillies Red Sox at Tigers Rangers at Yankees Tigers are 3.5 back of NY for the 1-seed. D-backs and Brewers are tied, but AZ won the season series, so a tie goes to them.

    The League---October 6 SHIVAAAAAA!
  22. Check out the Braves interleague schedule next year... at TB vs Tor vs NY vs Bal at NY at Bos Uhh, when did the Braves start playing the Yankees twice? Which means the Yankees play the Braves and Mets twice, plus Reds and Nationals. Bring back the BALANCED SCHEDULE!
  23. QUOTE (pettie4sox @ Sep 14, 2011 -> 04:18 PM) Does it make me bad SOX fan that I'd actually consider rooting for Detroit to win this postseason? No. I will be unless Tampa gets in.
