  1. Searching to see if Moncada speaks English, I found this quote from 2015: https://twitter.com/ScottLauber/status/620677149800972290 Anyone know?
  2. QUOTE (Swingandalongonetoleft @ Dec 6, 2016 -> 01:58 PM) I could see them busting out the '76 throwback unis when Boston stops by the Cell in May. My favorite post of the day.
  3. Ages of 2017 season: Moncada, 22 in May Kopech, 21 in April Basabe, 20 Diaz, 23 in May Going to have some patience here too. 2019 or bust.
  4. QUOTE (mmmmmbeeer @ Dec 6, 2016 -> 01:48 PM) I'm glad your elbow held on long enough for us to get some good value for you. Amen. And I'm definitely rooting for him to stay healthy and be a Hall of Famer someday, but could you imagine if they didn't move him, and he got hurt next year? I'm very happy with the timing of this deal.
  5. QUOTE (soxfan2014 @ Dec 6, 2016 -> 01:21 PM) I do agree that it shouldn't be retired and this era is totally unforgettable. However, it's not because of Chris Sale. Yeah, I mean he's the most talented pitcher in Sox history, but he was also here in an era of Sox history that I just want to forget and move forward.
  6. Before anyone suggests it, no, he should not get his number retired...ever. In fact 49 and 23 should be on new players backs in February. Good luck to Sale, but that era of Sox baseball is completely forgettable.
  7. Happy with the return, but I wish it was to an NL team that could face a certain team.
  8. Can't be unhappy with this trade right now. Now keep going... Red Sox at White Sox May 29-31
  9. QUOTE (Hatchetman @ Dec 6, 2016 -> 10:00 AM) Exactly. Was thinking the same thing! I edited the earlier one. One was already traded this year.
  10. Be careful getting the right Basabe. They're twins with the same first name. actually, one of them was traded for Ziegler already, so we're good there.
  11. QUOTE (hi8is @ Dec 5, 2016 -> 10:47 PM) I'd be SHOCKED if something happens before Wednesday I think Sale goes tomorrow, and maybe 2-3 more moves before Thursday morning.
  12. The Sox want to trade Sale, and there are multiple teams that can offer multiple pieces. Hahn is creative. They'll find a way, hopefully Monday so they can move on to the rest. December 8th is Thursday btw. Poop.
  13. QUOTE (southsideirish71 @ Dec 3, 2016 -> 01:06 PM) I am figuring it will be a lot of talk with nothing major happening. If Sale isn't traded by Wednesday morning, I agree. There's got to be a Sale trade out there that's acceptable. Get it done.
  14. I've always liked the match up of Sale and Frazier to the Dodgers for a package of prospects. The Astros are going to hang on to Bregman, and the Sox are going to settle for quantity over quality. Hope I'm wrong. After that, Melky and Robertson seem like good candidates to go, with Quintana, Abreu, and Eaton as longshots.
  15. https://twitter.com/MLBBruceLevine/status/804831267015585792 I would assume he means next, not best. And he's probably talking about tendering contracts, not new players. Anyway.....
  16. I get people just want him gone (me included), but let's take it all in over the next few weeks. There are no games for four months.
  17. QUOTE (hi8is @ Dec 2, 2016 -> 04:44 PM) We're officially rebuilding Pretty much. I want to be pissed about this, but it doesn't really matter for a team that's going 66-96 in 2017. Maybe he shocks the world and turns into a player...probably not.
  18. Wasn't Miguel Montero one of the guys that had a problem with Eaton? Kinda speaks for itself.
  19. I've seen the deadline was changed from 11pm to 7pm central.
  20. There are a few guys that I just don't care what they have to say about anything. Morosi, Bowden, Cafardo. Just ignore it.
  21. QUOTE (ChiSoxFanMike @ Dec 1, 2016 -> 09:45 AM) Surprised no major moves have been made yet. I thought things would've happened quickly once this thing was resolved. The next 7 days will probably be very active. Non tenders tomorrow, the meetings next week ending with the rule 5 draft next Thursday morning. Hopefully it won't be a dud.
  22. If it were up to me, they would eliminate divisions, play a close to balanced schedule, and seed the teams 1-15. The higher seed, either league, would get HFA in the World Series. So the incentive to finish higher in your league would be there to the end of the season. If it's the same seed from each league, then it would go to win total.
