I am sorry, but that is just ignorant. We don't need to just throw money around, and I never said we should, I just said that the team he had assembled was a downgrade. Catalanatto isn't the cheapest, nor will Benitez be. Garland isn't exactly cheap anymore either. Pierre will get a raise sooner than later. We need to find the right guys who fit this team.

So the guy we have hitting ninth gets moved up in the order, a guy who comes off the bench gets put into the order. Put the other guy who is a ninth hitter in the two hole? So instead of having a hole in the bottom of the lineup, we have a huge hole throughout most of the lineup. Aaron should bat second and Konerko fifth. That is the best spots for them. Also, why would Florida trade Juan Pierre? Everyone is looking in the wrong places. We still do need some power too. Also, Aaron Sele is a big no. I don't understand all the hype about Catalanatto too. He hits well in one game versus us, and everyone is making it seem like he could come here and be the AL MVP. Um, newsflash, he is a utility player. He is best in that role, not as our sixth hitter even. Say he comes here, why would Willie bat second instead of him? I'd rather have someone who is not scared playing second base for me. We need guys who do the smallest little things. Intangibles. Jose Valentin has them, when we lose him, who is the leader? No one. So, how do you not see this as a downgrade? Because it completely is. Would you like to imitate the A's? Because, we don't have the pitching. How about the Yankees? Well, we don't have the power. How about the Twins? Don't have the speed, nor defense. But, one thing we do have is power and money available. If we sign the right guys, we should have another solid team. Understand?

This is terrible. Wow, all I can say is wow...thank goodness you have no say in the club. Why would we DOWNGRADE this team from what we have right now? We are missing our two best hitters, and this lineup isn't even as good as the one we have right now.

Yup, he was there for two seasons (I think it was two). I remember he got hurt his last season there, and missed a bunch of time. It was his knee. I'd love him here.

I honestly think JG is done in a White Sox uniform. We have our top three already in place, and IMHO we will sign another quality pitcher. Diaz will be involved in next season, somehow -- and not as a reliever. Diaz will either be traded, in Charlotte, or our fifth starter IMHO. Garland is expendable. Soriano is a special player, it is not just any player we are talking about here. He would be nice at the top of our order with Aaron. I would love to have Soriano at 2B, with Uribe at SS. That would be nice. We would need to deal one of Frank, CLee, or Konerko in order for this to be too realistic, as we could possibly only have Ben Davis in the lineup from the left-side of the plate. This is one deal I would do for sure, especially if they are not asking for too much more.

Buehrle, Garcia, Contreras, and Diaz will all be starters here next season. Garland would be the fourth starter. If we sign a FA, we'd be fine. I just wonder what it'd take to get Soriano, I'll hold judgement off until then.

If Frank Catalanatto is out fifh hitter and Jones as our clean-up hitter, we will finish fourth in the AL Central. :puke

All I can say is that I am glad you're not the GM, cause you'd sure suck at it. Texas wouldn't do Garland for Soriano unless we threw a Anderson/Sweeney/BMac prospect in. Even then they'd have no reason to deal him. He isn't even very expensive. The D'Backs wouldn't trade RJ for Konerko and a prospect or two. Same kind of problem with getting Soriano, it would take way too much...and we all know how everyone b****es if we trade a prospect or two away. Magglio for $6 million, think about that for a second, he will ask for so much more, and someone will be dumb enough to give it to him. He will not be back next season. Sign Sexson, eh? No thanks. Right-handed, power-hitting, strikes out alot...I think I'll pass. Pavano and Matheny...again, no thanks.
