Trade Deadline Thread
Disagree. An upgrade in the bullpen might be for 15 innings. Heuer or Ruiz could easily match or outpitch their replacement over that sample size. The chances of middle infield replacement outplaying Leury are seemingly much greater.

Giants have discussed Bryant
Cubs are gonna acquire some talent if they are eating the remaining money on these deals. Otherwise I just can't see Bart moving. I still fantasize about what our system could have looked like if Jerry ate 20 million in bad deals every year during the rebuild.

Who would you dream of the White Sox adding in trade this week, and what would you be willing to give up in exchange?
I think the Jay's ownership wouldn't mind the 6+ million they might be able to sidestep if they find a bidder for Semien.

Yermin retiring? Nope. Wait, maybe yes? Wait, he's active in Charlotte again.
This is on Yermin. Someone explained to him that he is like 6th choice DH right now and he got upset.

Trevor Story
The current generation of fake insiders had or have someone in the accounting department or an outside firm that doesn't accounting for the Sox. I guess that is technically an insider. BUT they can't help themselves, they can't just report the good stuff. They constantly speculate and lump it together with their actual scoops. It is 98% them guessing, 2% confirmation of rumors because they've seen the paperwork. The vibe around these parts is people are pretty much over the insider crowd... which is a good thing.

Engel back, Eaton DFA
I look for Eaton to get back on whatever he quit taking the last few years, have strong remainder of the season and make another few million in 2022.

Jose Abreu - BAD in high leverage situations
Nope. That is his career number ron is talking about and he dismissed it as small sample size and told us to focus on the past few years.

Jose Abreu - BAD in high leverage situations
Did you just dismiss the stat based on small sample size, and then tell us to focus on a smaller few year window during said small sample size? "Makes sense ?"

Madrigal.
What is your definition of fine? A bad player? Because he's been a bad baseball player.

Steve Stone / Yoan Moncada's "Lack of Effort and Interest"
The club needs to get Stone off Twitter. He tweets like a fan (which is great) and one night it will bubble over and "make news". One scout could call Yoan lazy, another sitting right next to him might say he has a slow heartbeat. I prefer to watch players who play with emotion, but I really like to win games. We should let the numbers talk and Yoan is our second best position player thus far.

Vaughn & Crochet for Kelenic. Who says no? Everyone involved?

Albert Pujols
Because you have all the money in the world and can then control your 2021 destiny?
-
Albert Pujols
Man did the Sox have something on LaRoche or did the Sox have something on LaRoche? Must have been wild. Like really wild. Albert has 340 million in career earnings, you know LAA has to have offered him a buyout every offseason for several years now. Hell, this winter they probably offered him 28.5 of the 30 he was due to walk, yet he choose this route to preserve every penny. Respect to him I guess. If I had more money than I could spend I think I would have walked off John Kruk style after a dinger.

Albert Pujols
I'd let him manage tbh

Seeing one of the highest paid relievers of ALL TIME taking a leadoff from second base SHOULD be enough for Hahn to go rogue. One would think.

Addressing the OF shortage (Robert Injury Spinoff)
Got it ------ Also, no one "wants" this. The question is what seemingly upgrade over Leury for the next 20 games is going to be significant enough to warrant giving up anything of value? Likely none.
