You just said he wouldn't get 5/75. But now you are leading the bandwagon? That is all I'm trying to demonstrate here.
-
Because that is coming out next week. My original post was just trying to explain that our fanbase is penciling Conforto into their offseason plans at stuff like 1/12 or 2 2/25 and I was just trying to point out that pipe dream was going to die when those predictions come out.
-
Unless he takes a weird short term buffer deal to stay with the Mets (Which Boras won't let happen), I'd be very, very, very surprised if he got less than 75 million like you are predicting. I bet MLBTradeRumors predicts 6 for 132.

Well, only 14 shopping days until MLBTradeRumors predicts a George Springer like contract for Conforto and Sox fans everywhere wake up to the fact that Jerry won't buy him.

Nitengale: La Russa "definitely" returning to the Sox
GREEDY replied to Buehrle>Wood's topic in Pale Hose Talk
If TLR is back I think he is just an extension of the front office at this point... or Hahn is leaving. I know this is the case with most managers... and it doesn't mean Tony can't or won't go rogue at some point in the season, but if Hahn is onboard I think Tony is pretty much just doing his bidding. -
When the trade first happened I wondered if the Sox could get more than Madrigal/Heuer for Kimbrel this offseason when virtually every team in baseball could be interested while only a handful were "in" at the deadline. His value has taken a hit but I believe he still has value at or above 1/16. Shouldn't be a problem to move him.

Lots of talk of trading Vaughn and Sheets. I'd hate to sell low but I'd definitely sell high on either. I'm sure they shopped Vaughn a bit so they know where his value was before his slump this year. One of them is the starting 1B next year for me. Abreu is poor defensively and only getting older. Him not executing a routine scoop of on Tim's error was the nail in the coffin yesterday. Error goes to TA but there are random high school first basemen scooping that 9 out of 10 times. He is going to have to get used to spending at least some time at DH. Yaz also needs about 150 PA at DH as well in 2022. Eloy could use 100 too. Can't have 5 guys at DH, so if either is tradable, I think you do it.

ALDS Game 4 - HOU @ CWS - 1:07 pm CDT
GREEDY replied to Chicago White Sox's topic in 2021 Season in Review
Sox should plan to use an opener today. No chance Rodon can go the distance, hell I set the over under at 3 and two thirds, so why risk it? If the game ultimately gets played tomorrow I don't think Lucas starts, and you don't really want to go with Lynn against them again. Let Reynaldo or Crochet worry about being ready for an unknown start time. -
Tepera said out loud what everybody is thinking

They were taking Kopech's slider all the way and taking daddy hacks at his fastballs. Maldonado was committed to a fastball that was going to hit him. Obviously, they could have had a tip on Michael specifically but they definitely do not deserve the benefit of the doubt. -

Generally, it is best to attempt to stop the cheating before you are home on your sofa watching them in the ALCS. -

If it starts pouring the concourse is going to be a gross corona hot box. Last time it was slammed in there during a delay was Kopech's debut and that was still probably only 80% of the lower deck capacity. -
I have far underestimated the demand for Divisional Playoff tickets. $1600 after fees for the cheapest 4 tickets between the bases for Home Game 1 on Stubhub right now. The fanbase is more than ready for some playoff baseball.

SUNDAY: THE RETURN OF THE YERMINATOR ON THE MOUND
-
I'd skip Keuchel next time out. He just can't miss enough barrels. No point in him pitching anymore this season. I'd roll the dice with Reynaldo or some sort of Mike Wright bullpen game if Rodon can't go in the playoffs. I'm sure Dallas won't have anything to say when he is left off the roster either ?.

It is part of the unmeasurable, unquantifiable case for (often pointless) hustling all the time. I think you could speculate that when guys subscribe to the "don't overdue it unless you have to" thought process on effort and pointless hustle that when it actually comes time to bust your butt.... you hesitate. If you are going 100 miles per hour all the time you don't have to worry about it.

Rodon will get the 4/68 that Eovaldi received after the Sox won/win the WS.

If Kimbrel stays dominant through the playoffs I predict his value on the open market would be similar to Hendricks 4/55. Maybe a tad less. So on a 1/16 deal there is real value there. With only maybe a dozen teams shopping at the deadline for relief help and many clubs already way over the luxury tax threshold, it seems reasonable that there should be equal to or more of a market for an elite reliever next offseason. I personally think it is unlikely the Sox will keep two relievers making 30 million dollars on the roster next season, I predict the Sox get a similar or better return for Kimbrel than they paid yesterday. The biggest risk to this deal is the chance that Kimbrel struggles or gets hurt and damages his value.
-
Sox can trade Kimbrel for a player better than Madrigal this winter.
-
Hendricks would have cost a fortune on a one year deal last offseason. Kimbrel has value.
-
Jerry didn't pick up any money... did he?
-
Kimbrel has value for a team that would like a 16 million dollar reliever again next season. On the open market he'd likely get a multi year deal similar to Liam's. So there is definitely surplus value there. I'm not sure the Sox would want to pay that next year. So if Kaplan is correct, I'd think we'd be trading him in the offseason. I asked a few days ago if Burger & Kelley would be too much to give up and the overwhelming response was that it was.
-
Gave everyone else a day off, why didn't we skip Rodon?

We are supposed to believe that a burner hamburger account that tweets constant speculation and spews bullshit almost daily is going to all of a sudden NOW show restraint and use eyeball emojis instead of tweeting a rumor they heard?

I mean, are you talking Kimbrel? Or more like Hudson? Because I'll take Heuer and Escobar over Hudson and Leury. Obviously, I'd prefer both but my reply was to someone saying RP was significantly more of a need.
