  1. Hey Jay Gruden, stop running Morris off-tackle. He's not fast enough for this Seattle defense.
  2. QUOTE (Jenksismyb**** @ Oct 6, 2014 -> 05:13 PM) It's not like I'm looking that hard for reasons to criticize him... he makes the case for me. You literally said you thought it was a good thing a call didn't go the Bears way. Think about that.
  3. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Oct 6, 2014 -> 04:56 PM) 2 hitters. Someone to cover DH and someone to cover a corner OF slot. And even then, that leaves a whole lot of risky holes. If we assume Flowers starts next year, we need a corner OFer and a DH. Maybe a 3B. Here's some guys we can look at through free agency: DH/1B/3B Billy Butler (he has a team option at 12.5 MM) Mike Morse Adam Lind (team option) Adam LaRoche (mutual option) Hanley Ramirez Pablo Sandoval Chase Headley Nelson Cruz Victor Martinez OF Nelson Cruz Melky Cabrera Josh Willingham Colby Rasmus Michael Cuddyer Alex Rios Torii Hunter Nothing really sticks out at me as someone we must go after. I really don't want to spend the money on V-Mart, but he's clearly the best hitter in here. Cruz's year was very up and down and I feel like he's truly a .350 wOBA hitter. While good, it ain't that much better than Adam Dunn and you don't want to play him in the OF. He's going to get overpaid just like Martinez. I'm not sure how much money Hanley will get, but he wouldn't be a bad short-term signing for around $15 million a year. It'd be a gamble, but I'd rather give him that money than Martinez. I like the idea of Adam Lind since he's left-handed and should be pretty cheap, but I think Toronto will bring him back at $7.5 million. Sandoval is a decent option and he should be a decent hitter moving from SF to the Cell. He also plays 3B. I doubt SF will let him walk though. I feel like there's no sure bets in FA this year in terms of hitters, so we're gonna have to trade for someone.
  4. We need a good middle of the order hitter, 2 good relievers, and a good right handed starter if we want to contend.
  5. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Oct 6, 2014 -> 03:26 PM) It just doesn't feel like an iPhone. It feels cheap. You might have been expecting too much.
  6. QUOTE (Rowand44 @ Oct 6, 2014 -> 03:17 PM) The Falcons are an odd example considering they're 2-3. The Falcons don't play defense and their offense is nothing special outside of the Georgia Dome. If the game next week was in Chicago, I'd give a big edge to the Bears. But since it's in Atlanta, I actually don't like our chances.
  7. QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Oct 6, 2014 -> 03:11 PM) I think these iphones are the least comfortable in the hand. I don't know if it is the aluminum backing or what, but they don't feel right. I think it's the fact that the corners are rounded. I held one and I thought it felt decent in the hand though.
  8. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Oct 6, 2014 -> 02:15 PM) I am pretty leery of Masterson after this past year. His stuff really dropped off Yeah. Masterson's usually had alternating good years throughout his career though. But the drop in velocity is very discouraging.
  9. QUOTE (JPN366 @ Oct 6, 2014 -> 01:41 PM) Because I'll only have to pay $46 for the Note 3 when I get my buyback credit. I think the Note 4 is like $300 on-contract. You'd be paying $50 for a newer device. That's worth it IMO.
  10. QUOTE (Jenksismyb**** @ Oct 6, 2014 -> 12:50 PM) LOL. I'm sorry, this is just laughable. I'm glad the refs didn't call it. You don't reward stupidity. That throw was a terrible decision, and completely unnecessary at that stage in the game. Even more laughable. At this point, you're just hating on Jay Cutler for the sake of doing it. There's people who defend Cutler to no end and then there's people like you who find every reason to bag on him.
  11. QUOTE (GoSox05 @ Oct 6, 2014 -> 01:22 PM) It actually hasn't happened. Aaron Rodgers has never lost at home to the Bears. I'm not counting last year where he only played one series. He technically did play in that game he got hurt in last year.
  12. QUOTE (JPN366 @ Oct 6, 2014 -> 12:27 PM) Switching from an iPhone 4S to a Samsung Galaxy Note 3, any advice? The Sprint Buyback program is giving me $204 for my iPhone 4S FYI. Why not wait for the Note 4?
  13. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Oct 6, 2014 -> 10:53 AM) Buster Olney ‏@Buster_ESPN 5h5 hours ago Chris Davis still has five more games to serve in his suspension, so an ALCS appearance could be unlikely. http://www.baltimoresun.com/sports/orioles...0,5358121.story … I don't think they really need him. Steve Pearce is so much better.
  14. QUOTE (Brian @ Oct 6, 2014 -> 06:45 AM) Seems like a match up in MVP Baseball or something. Game 1 not until Friday. Time TBA That means the Royals get to pitch Shields in game 1. I'm guessing it'll be Shields vs. Tillman, Vargas vs. Chen, Duffy vs. Norris, Ventura vs. Gonzalez I always thought the O's don't have enough pitching to win a 7 game series. We'll see though.
  15. For the second week in a row, the result of my game comes down to Monday Night Football. I have Morris and Hauschka. My opponent has Harvin and Lynch. I'm up 10.5.
  16. QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Oct 6, 2014 -> 10:33 AM) They barely took a shot in the 2nd half. It was conservative. I thought Holmes was held on the 2nd pick of the game, first pick was just awful and the 2nd pick was still a ball that Jay sailed. Like I said in the preseason, I thought the team lacked discipline and they continue to play with a lack of discipline. Lots of foolish mistakes in the 2nd half (not to mention 1st half with Bennett's drop on that 3rd down that seemed to be the start of the meltdown and of course the punt TD). Just pathetic. I thought he got held when I saw it live, but it looked like he kind of got tangled with the LB on the replay. I thought it was a good no-call. The first interception though...that was blatant pass interference.
  17. QUOTE (iamshack @ Oct 6, 2014 -> 10:45 AM) Didn't Marshall have his hands on the first int? And he would have caught it if there wasn't pass interference. The idea of throwing into triple coverage isn't smart, but that INT also shouldn't have happened because there should have been a penalty. For an officiating crew that gave out 25 penalties a game coming into the game, they sure decided to swallow their whistles for something so obvious.
  18. QUOTE (TheTruth05 @ Oct 6, 2014 -> 09:48 AM) Don't lynch me guys but the pitching, speed, and clutch factor kinda give KC a 05 Sox look and feel. Except the Royals don't hit a lot of home runs (post-season withstanding). They've needed production like this from Hosmer and Moustakas all year and they never really got it. Now they have it and their offense is actually decent. This is another example of a team getting hot at the right time.
  19. QUOTE (thxfrthmmrs @ Oct 5, 2014 -> 08:07 PM) Someone mentioned last week that Cutler is a dumb QB, I don't think we can deny it at this point. You can surround him with a better line and more weapons, he can put up more yards and throw more touchdown. But he will never stop making dumb mistakes and causing turnovers. I feel like he almost just panics when he doesn't see anyone open and just forces throws. It's so hard to get a measure on him. Sometimes he's great (see SF game), sometimes he's awful (see second half today and Packers game). It's just night and day with him at this point.
  20. In all of the games we've lost, Cutler's thrown 2 picks. In all of the games we've won, Cutler's thrown 0 picks. I think I see a pattern here.
  21. QUOTE (scs787 @ Oct 5, 2014 -> 04:13 PM) Kudos to Fuller for shutting him down, but damn did I thought Benjamin was gonna have a huge day against the Bears. Him suckin and Rashad Jennings getting hurt killed me in fanduel this week Benjamin looked so nonchalant today. There were numerous balls he could have caught, but either had them go off his hands or just out of his reach.
  22. So barring an overturn here, Emannuel Sanders just scored a TD when he was down, but nobody actually touched him when he was down and he ended up running an extra 60 yards for the TD. Edit: it was overturned. There goes 15 points...
  23. QUOTE (iamshack @ Oct 5, 2014 -> 03:53 PM) I didn't really see any throws downfield. I think they were trying to restore his confidence after last week, as well as protect the line a bit with Bushrod out. That was fine, except they never went away from it once the Panthers adjusted to it. Down field as in maybe 10-15 yards down field. They didn't take a deep shot all game.
  24. IDK if anyone noticed, but pretty much all of Cutler's throws down the field were absolute crap today. Very inaccurate. We dink and dunked the Panthers the entire first half and that worked. They figured out that's all we're going to run in the second half and shut our offense down.
