  1. I’m happy with Moncada’s developent despite his recent cold streak. I’m very pleased with Anderson’s season. Like you said, Davidson & Sanchez might be solid depth pieces. Abreu is having a great season and could theoretically be used as a trade chip. Plenty to like on the offensive side this year IMO. It’s really the pitching that’s the been the problem. I didn’t expect anything out of Fulmer, but we really need one of Lopez & Giolito to establish themself by the end of this year. I still have faith in Lopez despite some rough outing and inconsistencies, but Giolito looks like a lost cause at the moment. Not exactly how we were all hoping this would shake out. At least Fry looks like he might a long-term answer in the pen. Hopefully Kopech & Stephens come up at some point and show some promise as god knows we could really use it.
  2. Micker with three K’s swinging so far. I know it’s one game, but absolutely no reason to rush him. He’s still got plenty to learn in High A.
  3. JFC, another thread ruined because Greg can’t accept rebuilding and doesn’t understand how it works. When will this nonsense end??
  4. That’s what I’m referring, his bad luck has reversed course during his hot stretch.
  5. I predict a HR tonight from one of the big prospects in Winston-Salem. Those guys are more than due for one.
  6. To be fair, there’s some serious BABIP regression built into those numbers though. Still impressive stretch of games nonetheless.
  7. If you’re looking for good food, I’d hit up the ChiSox Bar & Grill. Have to imagine it’s far superior to the Craft Kave.
  8. Doesn’t Law think he is a reliever?
  9. Correa got somewhere between #3 & #4 pick money and still saved the Astros $2.4M. That strategy was more doable before because the top couple picks had much higher slots values relative to the next picks than they do now. Now you have to drop down way deeper into the first round to get those kinds of savings.
  10. But Correa was still a top talent right? I’m pretty sure he was at least projected to go in the top 10 of that draft if not higher. Along those lines, I could understand doing a underslot deal with Kelenic if you think there isn’t a huge drop off between him and the college guys but Schnell appears to be a bottom 1st round talent. Seems like a huge drop-off without any certainty that the guys you want at #46 will be there.
  11. Seems way too risky. Royals have four picks between #4 & #46 and the Indians & Rays have three each. If you take Schnell at #4 you have to hit on at least one huge over-slot prep piece at #46 for it to make any sense and those teams mentioned above would have multiple bites at the apple to screw our plan over. But for arguments sake, what guys would we be looking at with our second round if we took Schnell at #4?
  12. No fucking thanks. I wouldn’t do that deal for Abreu let alone including Nate Jones in as a bonus. I need Hoffman & McMahon at minimum to even consider trading Abreu to the Rockies.
  13. raBBit mentioned this the other day, but I don’t recall anyone connecting us to Burger last year. Don’t recall if anyone connected us to Collins the year before though.
  14. 100% agree, but get this weird sense Singer is their guy for whatever reason.
  15. I will commit a minor felony if this happens.
  16. You clearly know nothing about Dane Dunning based on this post.
  17. I have no idea what kind of grocery store this woman shops at that has pornography on the shelves.
  18. For those that watched the game, how bad did Lopez look? The velocity appears to have been, he didn't give up any HRs, and only one walked one batter. Was he hit hard or did he just have bad luck and/or defense?
  19. That’s what I’m not getting at well. The math doesn’t add up IMO. Seems like his ceiling would be regular 4 to 5 WAR player with even average game power.
  20. This is what concerns me as well.
  21. Of course not, I guess I meant in terms of overall value provided. Yolmer already appears to a 2-3 WAR infielder. I’d hope Madrigal with a far superior hit tool and far more speed could exceed that if all went right.
  22. Hmmm, a 2-3 WAR player would be pretty disappointing. I’d hope he’s got a bit more ceiling than that if everything went right. Are we basically talking Yolmer Sanchez here with more speed?
  23. Because otherwise Paul Sullivan would have nothing to write about yesterday!
