  1. Yup, they aren’t really blocking anyone other than maybe Baldwin, but he needed a bit more time in AAA anyways. For those stanning for Fletcher, he’s almost 28 years old and is the definition of a tweener. And he will likely get a shot after the trade deadline anyways.
  2. Yup, Baldwin should be the next man up and whenever that happens they need to give him an extended run of everyday playing time. I still believe he can be a legit regular even if ends rotating around a lot.
  3. You think public filings are manipulated?
  4. Can we also add the “Meidroth is Madrigal” comps as well?
  5. If it’s binding, then a transaction has already taken place. Ishbia is effectively buying an option at a pre-determined price which is all he needs to procure ownership eventually but without immediately triggering a sale.
  6. Pretty horrible article. Also, the author’s business acumen is really terrible.
  7. He was very good to start the season, but was terrible after getting hurt last year. It’s very clear he’s trying to be a more disciplined hitter this year but it’s clear as day it’s not working from an impacting the baseball perspective. At the end of the day, if Robert isn’t hitting for power then he won’t be an above average hitter. Even with his warts, he should be a league average hitter if he can hit 25 HRs, which would be plenty with his defense and base-running.
  8. Who said that? Still not sure who you are arguing with here…
  9. Sure, but they also built up some savings at the start of the previous rebuild. I’d assume they had built up some reserves during that time.
  10. Or language to avoid an immediate tax consequence.
  11. What massive debt could the White Sox possibly have? Hopefully all those Trajekt machines didn’t set your buddy Jerry back too much.
  12. That should have had no bearing on a transaction as he would have been buying the team on a cash-free, debt-free basis.
  13. The greatest trick the devil ever pulled was conning the world he didn’t exist…
  14. Awesome! Glad Jerry’s debt is getting paid down!
  15. Why does this matter? A big market club will 100% take a flier on him if the prospect cost is little to nothing. Won’t help us, but doesn’t change the reality of the situation.
  16. Someone will happily take on his salary…let’s get crazy here.
  17. Not sure about that, but the elite power and speed is still there. His issues are theoretically fixable…obviously we will have to wait and see.
  18. Those guys mostly fell off due to health…Robert’s elite tools are still very much present.
  19. I would like to apologize to @JUSTgottaBELIEVE. Robert is a fucking headcase and despite having all the tools and taking some steps in the right direction, he can’t seem to put it altogether. I remain adamant that as soon as we trade him, the other org will immediately figure out how to fix him and reap the rewards of a massive buy low. But alas, that won’t help us now in terms of trade value.
  20. Signing Thaiss was never about the prospect return. He was about buying time until the young catchers were ready and marginally improving the quality of the club while here. I haven’t been able to watch him much so his defense could be terrible, but offensively he was a fantastic addition. We have failed miserably in the past with these bargain bin signings, but so far it appears the pro scouting has been a bit better lately on these type of additions.
  21. I still think he’s got some trade value because a compentant org probably thinks they can fix him, but he’s certainly not making it easy on us with his peformance.
