  1. Holy f*** send De Aza down to AAA tomorrow.
  2. QUOTE (bbilek1 @ Jun 3, 2013 -> 09:56 PM) With the way Keppinger has been hitting of late, I wouldn't mind him getting a start in LF every once in a wild. I remember when he was signed it was deemed his best position. After losing 3 straight after losing 3 straight to the Cubs... This would be switching it up against a LHP. SS Alexei Ramiez 2B Gordon Beckham RF Alex Rios DH Dayan Viciedo 1B Paul Konerko CF Alejandro De Aza LF Jeff Keppinger 3B Conor Gillaspie C Hector Gimenez Why not just DH Keppinger? I have never seen him play LF, but I'm going to guess that Tank is a better defensive LF if you factor in his arm. And I realize that Viciedo isn't very good out there either. Just can't imagine Keppinger would be though.
  3. I feel bad for Stone for having to constantly agree with Hawk's delusions.
  4. Hawk can't even call Beckham's at-bats objectively.
  5. That lead was fun while it lasted. We're going to need a crooked number to win tonight.
  6. QUOTE (Buehrle>Wood @ Jun 3, 2013 -> 09:36 PM) Hayes wishes he was that good. Even Dan Hayes knows he's terrible, but at least Hawk is nice enough to drop a "nice job kiddo" at the end of each interview to lift his spirits.
  7. I love how Hawk talks to Dan Hayes like he's a high school reporter. We finally have a lead! Nice!
  8. QUOTE (flavum @ Jun 3, 2013 -> 08:19 PM) Hawkins homer in Game 2. 1-2, and still no K's today! edit: now he k'd 1-3 What's crazy is he's missed over half the season and is still 4th in the Carolina League in HRs.
  9. QUOTE (fathom @ Jun 3, 2013 -> 06:04 PM) Dunn batting higher than 10th against a LHP is too high. Is there any easy way to tell how many of Wells' 23 plate appearances have come against lefties?
  10. QUOTE (pettie4sox @ Jun 3, 2013 -> 11:18 AM) The funny thing is, how in the world is it warranted? What has Beckham done to make Hawk this giddy about him? "I'll tell you what Stone Poney, Gordon Beckham is the best defensive second basemen I've seen since Bill Mazeroski."
  11. I will say this, tough talk is better than nothing, but a real roster move or a coach getting fired would put more stock into these statements.

  13. QUOTE (kitekrazy @ Jun 2, 2013 -> 06:16 PM) I think it goes deeper. Get when of your scouting and development as well. 100% true. I didn't like the Manto promotion in the first place, as his view on walks didn't seem very...modern. It may not make a difference, but I have no problem with him getting canned. Having said that, we have a huge issue with developing hitting prospects in the minor leagues. I don't know where I read it, but Joey DeMichele basically said that our organization lets our positional prospects figure out things on their own for the most part. If that's true in the slightest, then we're in a lot of trouble, especially if we keep drafting raw/toolsy players. Our minor league hitting coaches and instructors need to be working with our players everyday and teaching them how to make adjustments and get better. These prospects are not going to figure it out on their own.
  14. QUOTE (fathom @ Jun 2, 2013 -> 05:53 PM) His defense has been mediocre at best since joining the Sox. Maybe the most overrated defensive prospect in a long time for the Sox. It's really shocking because he was rated the best outfielder in the organization for several years. He really hasn't looked good in his limited showing.
  15. Hawk must be high as a kite. Our team defense isn't suddenly going to be fixed once Beckham is back. And Beckham becoming the leader of this ball club? It's probably only 50/50 right now he'll even be back next year.
  16. Watch us score exactly 1 run in the 9th and lose 2-1.
  17. Alright, I take back any nice thing I've ever said about Jordan Danks.
  18. We are so f***ing lucky right there.
  19. QUOTE (Marty34 @ Jun 2, 2013 -> 05:46 PM) Coop is Kenny's spy. No way he gets elevated to manager. Oh god, you must be Joe Cowley.
  20. QUOTE (Buehrle>Wood @ Jun 2, 2013 -> 05:43 PM) You would have to think that is next. 25 years in the organization. He's due for his promotion...again. Let's hope not. Taking time away from him to actually work with pitchers is a bad idea.
  21. QUOTE (flavum @ Jun 2, 2013 -> 05:37 PM) Yeah, that's exactly it. Weak.
  22. QUOTE (flavum @ Jun 2, 2013 -> 05:34 PM) Caulfield-- I caught myself and remembered he missed time. Calm down dude. And Viciedo sucks. Yup, all 24 year olds that aren't Mike Trout suck.
  23. QUOTE (flavum @ Jun 2, 2013 -> 05:20 PM) Viciedo on pace for a whopping 12 homers and 39 RBIs. (he was injured though) Dude, I keep catching you in these edits. And this is not directed a you, but people wanted to write off Viciedo coming off a 25 HR season as a 23 year old are crazy to me. Give him some time for Christ sake. One week ago people were sucking his dick around here, now some of those same people want to trade him. Baseball is not supposed to be over-analyzed on a daily basis.
  24. I will say this, if we decide to punt this season, Danks should be in the lineup everyday one way or the other. While I don't think he'll ever become a regular, he has put up big numbers the last two years in AAA. He's the type of guy you take a look at in a wasted season.
  25. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jun 2, 2013 -> 04:31 PM) I see. So you're plenty willing to give time to develop to cheap trash from other teams with great minor league numbers, just not ones from the White Sox. Guys from the White Sox struggle, they need immediately replaced. Guys from the Royals struggle...hey, they're one swing away from turning it around! Balta, remember you never develop LFs, too easy to fill the position. However, finding a cheap 1B is near impossible so you have to try developing them.
