Another game with a ton of K’s and few BB’s. Sign Grandal and trade for Nimmo and you suddenly have a balanced and extremely versatile lineup next year.

I just don’t think Cooper will be the guy to unlock Lopez’s potential. I think an org the Astros would quickly turn him into a solid #3 type.

Do you mean two starters? They’re obviously going to add at least one guy this offseason. Adding two would be prudent as Lopez should probably move the pen long-term.

These are the moments I’m glad I left Illinois. I’ll always love Chicago and may come back one day, but my god Illinois is a broken mess.

I’d be pretty pissed as Mazara hasn’t been good, only has two years of control left (with Boras as his agent), and doesn’t address our OBP problem.

This team desperately needs to add a couple high OBP guys to the lineup this offseason. Another game with quite a few K’s and no BB’s.

And Moncada sucked vs them last year, but hey winning a meaningless game in September is important than trying to develop our young talent.

Definitely should have been, but Theo hasn’t gotten a great return on all the prospects he’s dealt and was unable to develop any starting pitching. This run is quickly ending barring the Ricketts suddenly spending like Hal Steinbrenner.

His luck has mostly regressed in the second half, but despite that Statcast would suggest he should be a league average hitter. Are you saying he can’t repeat that and if so why? He’s actually made mechanical adjustments this year that might be help driving these results.

100% agree. We need to aim higher with our bench. Yolmer is going to get 550 plate appearances and likely finish with two HRs. In the juiced ball era, that is simply unacceptable. And for those that like Statcast, Yolmer has some of the worse quality of contact I have ever seen. If it weren’t for his league average BB rate, he’d probably be the worst hitter in all of baseball. Also, people are really putting too much emphasis on his defense. How often are we taking Moncada, Anderson, or Madrigal out late in a game for him next year? If the answer is never, then his value is entirely tied to filling in on days off or as injuries pop up (as he certainly shouldn’t be used as a punch hitter). And when that happens, his bat is just as important as every other skill he brings to the table.

Cooper does have a point about internet folk feeling bold behind the shield of their keyboards, but dude should really STFU and take this shit in stride. These type of comments only antagonize the fanbase further and do no good.

Sure, if he wasn’t an absolutely terrible hitter. The problem is he’s the 5th worst qualified hitter in all of baseball. That negates much of his defensive value and makes him a fairly ordinary player.
