  1. QUOTE (LDF @ Jun 14, 2015 -> 05:07 PM) did the players on this team gave up on RV??? i can't say it any other way. Robin isn't coaching this weekend and the Sox had just swept a first place team.
  2. QUOTE (Mike F. @ Jun 14, 2015 -> 05:16 PM) I wouldn't mind the Sox trading anyone but Sale, Rodon, Quintana, Abreu, and Robertson. Everyone else is fair game to be moved at this point. So you're ok with the Sox trading their bad players. Gotcha.
  3. That's nice and all, but I would rather see the young assets the Sox already have (the Johnsons, Avi, Rodon, etc) and the vets they're stuck with (Melky, LaRoche, Duke) perform well in the latter half of the season. This would go a long ways to convince me that they aren't broken/were never good.
  4. Actually with Flowers, they might non tender him and try to re-sign him. He might be worth ~2M but he definitely isn't worth 4.
  5. Assuming the season continues on its trajectory - Alexei Ramirez - option declined Emilio Bonifacio - option declined Geo Soto - Not re-signed this offseason Gordon Beckham - Not re-signed Hector Noesi - DFA, released Matt Albers - Not re-signed JB Shuck - waivers, claimed Jeff Samardzija - FA, comp pick Gillaspie - Non-tendered, FA
  6. Flowers is a backup catcher, nothing more. I don't think the Sox are stupid enough to think otherwise.
  7. Elmore hit the ball solidly. Other than that, the defense really hates Jr Guerra.
  8. Like, Fields threw probably 75% fastballs, many of them in the zone, and Flowers/Boni/Eaton were helpless.
  9. How is it possible that no one on this team besides Avi and Jose can hit a fastball?
  10. Chris Sale is gonna make this crappy season worthwhile by winning the Cy Young.
  11. If Guerra ends up pitching well Jennings will probably be optioned. He needs some work on his control anyways. Or he's just bad. Hopefully not.
  12. Adolfo will probably start with the AZL Sox in late June.
  13. Duke has some worrying stats but he hasn't been a disaster yet.
  14. Maybe the Blue Jays still want to hire him as team president. Maybe he is interviewing RIGHT NOW
  15. Johnson imploded in the 5th again. Might want to stow those hopes for now.
  16. Apparently all you have to do to beat Eaton is pitch him in the top third of the zone. All he can do is get himself out.
  17. QUOTE (Capn12 @ May 25, 2015 -> 07:17 PM) I've not really looked at stats, etc, to see....but, there is no way in hell there is a worse duo of catchers on any other MLB roster, than what we're stuck watching. Oddly enough, the Marlins, Brewers and Rays have been worse, although the Brewers won't be once Lucroy comes back.
  18. Lets replace the White Sox with a local high school team and see if anyone notices
  19. Eaton swinging out of his shoes for some reason.
  20. Alexei is bad, but we're kind of stuck with him, for now. Noesi is really bad and we are definitely not stuck with him.
  21. so Noesi is DFA after this, right?
  22. GH, I admire your optimism. Really I do. Pretty worried about the Sox getting trapped in this in-between position all season. Not trading Shark or Alexei wouldn't be the worst thing ever, given the '16 option and compensation pick. But returning most of the same personnel next season is a terrifying prospect.
  23. Haven't read any scouting reports but might Montas be working on an offspeed pitch? Seems like that and health are his biggest barriers to starting and he can't do as much about the latter. The lack of strikeouts + the uptick in groundball outs makes me think maybe. Or maybe its just a phase. I do appreciate that Jacob May basically decided to stop striking out.
  24. Yeah the Sox are in the fairly unique position of being an expensive, young, bad team. This leaves them with little room to maneuver.
  25. I really hate to sound like a broken record... so I won't. Peace ya'll, time for some video games or something.
