  1. I'm not OK with Melky's jinxed first half (75 wRC, .284 BABIP) but perfectly fine with his second half (117 wRC, .319 BABIP) that is perfectly in line with his career norms.
  2. I actually like Zobrist a lot if they can find the money to sign him. He can fill in all over the field and be credible.
  3. QUOTE (Jose Abreu @ Sep 8, 2015 -> 06:58 PM) The Rockies have a solid up-and-coming first baseman. What would they do with Adam LaRoche? Ben Paulson? I see a 27 year old bench player with an inflated BABIP.

  5. Yeah there's a bit of Gavin in him for sure. Victim of the one big inning. He might be getting to the end of his day.
  6. In general he hasn't made many mistakes. Sal Perez is really strong. The pitch to Dyson was a mistake, but two solo shots isn't bad. He hasn't walked anyone (yet) which is REALLY important for him.
  7. Yeah I can't blame EJ for that one.
  8. QUOTE (pettie4sox @ Sep 6, 2015 -> 12:31 PM) KC has definitely mailed it in. They are thinking about blazing through the playoffs. Cueto certainly did not seem pleased with himself, I would say he isn't mailing anything.
  9. He's not way better, he is just Davidson but older. A year from now they'll probably both be looking for a job with some AAA team.
  10. LaRoche would strictly be a bad contract swap. Danks has rebuilt a small amount of value this season, but they wouldn't get much for him. I think EJ is more likely to get traded.
  11. The Yankees already have a strong pen. They have no incentive to make this work. It was to block the Jays and that's it.
  12. Its pretty clear that Trayce should start against every lefty going forward. He's good enough in the field to get a few starts against righties too.
  13. He is tied for the AL lead in WAR with 20 less innings than Kluber. He leads the majors in K's. He is having the best season of his young, stellar career so far. He has a very good shot at the Cy Young.
  14. Just a ballpark but probably 5-6 years, 20+ per year. You would have to look at comparable contracts for FA under 30 with his history of production, which are pretty scarce. These guys usually get extended.
  15. Danks and low prospect for Upton and Jed Gyorko
  16. Giants get desperate for a starter, trade Susac for Shark. E. Johnson replaces Shark Sox send prospects to Reds for Frazier profit
  17. bad team, strong division, sellers market... yet I still feel like the Sox will hold. hope i'm wrong.
  18. This is almost always pot or cocaine right? I can't imagine anything else being abused without someone catching on quick. Anyways, bad habit for a guy on the outs to develop.
  19. Hahn has to take the word of his scouts and bosses just like any other GM. He has made an impressive amount of rationally sound baseball moves, given the org's position the last few years.
  20. Yeah I had seen that. I just wonder, if they had a real chance of signing Eddy, if it would be worth it to get such a high ceiling player and not have to worry about competing for "the best intl prospect since Miggy", even in a reduced field.
