Gotta work on Ed Farmer
-
No chance. Then we have to get rid of Cooper too. Makes no sense, Ozzie may comeback as a special assistant or something, but that's it. Buehrle coming back would be more probable.

You know it was a road trip to Baltimore that brought that song to life in 2005!!! Joe, Row, & Pole at a bar in Balti.
-
Not a bad idea, he played 3rd for the Dodgers & reds. Mostly in the minors, but for interleague, no prob.

It must be said - Hawk Harrelson has to go
soxfan-kwman replied to Steve9347's topic in Pale Hose Talk
I' m Tucker McElroy, lead singer and driver of the winnebago... He is the Hawk!!! Those who criticize are gonna" look really funny trying to eat corn on the cob with no f--- teeth". -
QUOTE (JohnCangelosi @ Mar 29, 2012 -> 02:41 PM) Hawk won't mention Carl Yastremski's name even once during a live broadcast all year Love that one. My whole family laughs all the time when Hawk starts talking about Carl Yastremski!!

The Sox have to much class to say anything, wish more fans did.
-
I wish people would give him a break. Listening to the score and all the stupid comments. Give him a break from last year!! I hope Dunn and Paulie might hit more home runs then Fielder & Cabrera this year!!!! He doesn't need to loose weight or anything. He had a rough year last year & it's time to be supportive as a sox fan. His 5 year old child was having 5 to 6 seizures a day last year. I found that out from a family friend during the off-season. The guy didn't say not to say anything but I'm sick of all the Adam Dunn hate going on. He has told no media & probably nobody in the organization. He is all about not making excuses & wearing it. His son is better now so hopefully he'll have a good year & all the haters can suck it. Let's not let last years failures drag down this years success.

Another White Sox / Blue Jays trade on the horizon?
soxfan-kwman replied to striker's topic in Pale Hose Talk
QUOTE (HickoryHuskers @ Jan 6, 2012 -> 07:47 AM) First of all, anybody can spend 30 seconds on Google and find out the name of Gavin's wife and where they live. Secondly, if the actual player being traded is this guy's ultimate source, I don't buy for a second that he knows all of the details of the trade, such as the names of the minor leaguers involved and whether or not there is cash involved. That's how a team source might spell out a trade to somebody like Heyman or Rosenthal (or k0na), but I doubt that's how KW spells it out when he calls the actual player. Now, there may very well be a Floyd to Toronto trade in the works, but I don't buy this Purdue guy's story one bit. Her name is spelled Leanna, doubt they actually know her or the sox business. -
I used the word Dunn as Done several times in addition to booing him a lot last year. Today I am saying I will never boo Adam Dunn again and any other father with a son or daughter nobody else should't either. Of course he moved to the American League and I expected a slight drop in stats. Also he had is appendix taken out early in the season. I think most Sox fans can recongnize the fact that he never complained, at least that it wasn't known. We all know he struggled, but I think it is fair to say it was a historic struggle. Anyhow, I found out from a creditable source that his 5 yr old son had a very bad medical condition and that's all I am going to say about that. Things are better now and I hope he really turns it around next year. I can appreciate his professionalism by not saying a word about it and not wanting to have any attention taken off of baseball. Now I just feel bad about booing him last year. As a father myself, I worry when my son is healthy, let alone having a serious illness. What a guy. On a sox note, he handled all that adversity like a pro last year, can't wait to see what he does with the bat next season!!!
-
I believe AJ is making $4 million next year.
-
1. Peavy 2. Sale 3. Humber 4. Axelrod 5. Stewart Can't wait to send that season ticket deposit in!!!!! 2012 season is over. Dunnnn!!!

QUOTE (kjshoe04 @ Nov 17, 2011 -> 01:32 AM) Not sure I'll ever truly understand the love Brett Gardner gets from some people. I was just thinking, I bet the sox will end up making a trade like that. Gardner strikes me as a guy Kenny would like. Like he loved Junior, Chone Figgins, Tori Hunter, etc. If we lose Buehrle, we will trade Thorton prospects, Danks for prospects, & Floyd for prospects. Or maybe the opposite. Best thing about Kenny, you never know what he's going to do. Also the worse thing!!!
-
Quentin & Danks for Brett Gardner & prospects.
-
5 years/ $56 million 2012 14mil 2013 14 mil 2014 12mil 2015 10 mil 2016 6 mil Love Buehrle, he should retire with the white sox

Frank Thomas: I could be the White Sox hitting coach.
soxfan-kwman replied to justBLAZE's topic in Pale Hose Talk
Hiitting consultant, anything else & it would be too much. His ego is a lot bigger then the statue out in left field. Robin will help Beckham, Morel, & Rios regardless of who is hitting coach. Dunn, you got me?? -
QUOTE (Harry Chappas @ Oct 18, 2011 -> 02:05 PM) he can be activated to replace dunn when dunn retires in june I am not entirely joking No joke, unless Dunn is comeback player of the year like he told Hawk. Really I think he can help Dunn between the ears. I think Thome can help our team be more selective. Thome has a great eye and that would be an asset. Also, his personality is infectious and he would be proactive with the hitters. JT was like that as a player, and surely he would be like that as a hitting coach. He would keep guys like Quentin, Rios, & Dunn to relax more up at the plate, and help them come up with better hitting thoughts and philosophy. Unlike Big Frank, no ego.
-
I like the hire. Robin is a true student of the game. I'm sure it was just a matter of getting Robin to commit to coming back to the game full time. He'll help our hitters next year regardless of who we hire as hitting coach. Plus, we have Coop for our pitching staff. Assistant coaches, I would like Harold as bench coach & bring back Rock Raines. That or have Buddy Bell as bench coach. Third base coach, Lance Johnson?.. Joe Crede as hitting coach. Any thoughts?
-
I'm sad, but happpy cause I can actually go to a game and not hear all the negative fans complain.
-
QUOTE (greg775 @ Sep 15, 2011 -> 02:41 PM) I'd love to see Frank Thomas be hitting coach. Big Frank would never be just a hitting coach. If he decided to coach, he would have to be the manager. As a player he didn't like talking to the media when he played, he surely wouldn't want to do it as a manager. Besides Ozzie is coming back next year, Kenny too. Things aren't as bad as everyone thinks. Next year the pressure is on the players. Winning solves a lot of problems.
-
QUOTE (elrockinMT @ Sep 15, 2011 -> 06:54 PM) Let's keep Ozzie, Cooper and Mark Buerhle. Regardless of how anyone wants to rate Buerhle you have to have a solid 5 or 6 man starting staff to win. Mark gives the Sox a very solid pitcher that fits in somewhere in that rotation. You win with pitching #1 I think. Agreed. Buerhle is a leader, and regardless of what people say about St. Louis him and PK are the Chicago white sox. You think the Cubs would have liked to have Maddux for his whole career.? Yes, end of conversation. Sale we'll have to step up next year and the future. Goodbye John Danks, we'll never forget the black out night. Next years Rotation Peavy Buehrle Flyod Sale Humber/Stewart

Adam Dunn Makes New York Times Front Page
soxfan-kwman replied to winninguglyin83's topic in Pale Hose Talk
With him & Rios it is like having two Bump Baileys on the team. It is a miracle that we have the record we have with these two guys playing the way we do. Heck even Manny hit .261 for the last couple of months last year. These guys are truly killing us. Sit them both, send Dunn to AAA. Don't they have DL stints for mental health too? Hindsight Police, should never get a National League player (AAA) & bring them to the American League. At least get a guy who has played in the American League before. Andruw Jones was so bad last year, but at least he still hit .200. Scotty Pods was the only one that actually helped our team after never playing in the AL.
