  1. QUOTE (Quinarvy @ Sep 1, 2009 -> 01:17 AM) Had to make this to honor the big guy. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Hh2IruLNeZk That is an awesome video for an awesome guy!! Thome is the nicest guy, and I hope he gets to bat DH in the World Series again the Yankees!! If you evey wanted your son to have an idol in the sports arena, Big Jim would be it!!
  2. 1. DH-Pods 2. 3B- Bacon 3. LF-Quentin 4. RF-Rio 5. C- AJ 6. 1B-Kotsay 7. SS-Nix 8. 1B- Kotsay 9. CF- Lillibridge
  3. 1. Pods(LF)/Getz(2B) 2.Beckham, 3B 3.Quentin, RF 4.Thome, DH 5.Konerko, 1B 6. AJ, C 7.Rios, CF 8. Alexei, (SS)/Pods(LF) 9 Getz, (2B)/ Alexei (SS)
  4. QUOTE (EvilJester99 @ Aug 18, 2009 -> 05:46 AM) I'd rather have Alexei at 2b I agree, I would love to have Alexei back at second base, Nix at shortstop, & Bacon at Third. With Alexei's Arm at 2B again I would love that, plus he seems to really get good jumps from the right side of the infield. With Paulie & Dye on the right side he doesn't hesitate going after balls on that side. My only reservation would be to many right handed batters. Although with Kotsay & Getz in the Line-up, plus AJ, & Thome(outfield-Pods & wise) we can bat 6 lefties. However, I really like our balance with Getz coming back. Pitching is (relievers) is my biggest concern. AI wouldn't want to change things to much, but Nix played third once or twice & I think he could play third just as well as Bacon. Bacon could probaly move to any of those positions, he has a very accurate arm.
  5. Is their any chance to put Dye in LF, Pods-CF, & move Quentin over to RF. I've seen Bobby Abreu move over & play left field. plus, Dye could gun more guys out at home on Sac Flys. Dye in left would still be better then a Soriano, a Manny, Johny Damon just to name a few. Then we could move Pods back to LF & Wise to CF in late innings. & switch off Dye to DHin the end of games to keep his big bat in the line-up? Any thoughts?
  6. Forget about what might have been, we are 52-51 now, & Beckham was just put in the 2 hole for the second game last night. I believe this move will help balance this team in a way that hasn't been done since 2005. Check our record on September 1st.
  7. A Breitling Hercules watch for that Herculean catch and an Aston Martin!!!
  8. QUOTE (JorgeFabregas @ Jul 21, 2009 -> 12:45 PM) You forgot to mention that every sunrise bring's BA one day closer to the grave. I'm not stating BA can't play well in the outfield. I'm just saying he can't steal a base & he can't lead-off. Wise can leadoff, obviously not long term, but he can leadoff. Neither one of them can bunt. I'm just stating the reasons they kept Wise.
  9. QUOTE (Jenksy Cat @ Jul 21, 2009 -> 11:02 PM) he's in a slump just like every other player in the history of baseball gets into from time to time. Thats it. Nothing more, nothing less. I agree that is it, nothing more, nothing less. He has been our most consistent playe the last 4 years. Even in the bad 2007 season, Bobby was still money!! He could lose the chin pubes!!
  10. 5 reasons BA got sent down 1. Brian can't hit. 2. Pods is a good lead-off hitter 3. Wise can steal bases off the bench, lead-off, & he is getting healthier every day 4. Nix can fill in at LF & RF 5. Options-BA has some. FYI- Wise has not played enough to use his batting average as a reference.
  11. Wise hits Left Handed. Ozzie can put him in at all three outfield spots & Nix can play some outfield that's why BA went down. Although Anderson can has a great arm & plays good outfield, he also can't steal a base when needed to. D-Wise can steal a big base when needed.
  12. I know Richards pitched great against Tampa before. Also Tampa doesn't hit well against lefties, plus minnesota & detoit on the road is coming up. Three Lefties might work for awhile, but after the yankee wrap-around series we will have our rotation set for the year.
  13. The Sheraton on the river or the Westin on the river both are pet friendly. They have a lot of restaurants & it is a safe area to stay. You can walk around river area on both. The sheraton is closer to the lake front & navy pier is close. As far as transporation to the ballpark, everybody is correct. Have fun!!
  14. QUOTE (kyyle23 @ Jun 4, 2009 -> 09:36 AM) Just out of curiosity, did Beckham get #6? I was wondering what number he would get. I thought maybe he would get #8, & Cox could take like 55 or 77 or some double number. Number 6 would be cool. Him & Cutler. I just hope he doesn't go with the #1 jersey like Rose. I think #1 is stupid looking. Off the subject Rose should wear 24 or 22.
  15. Fields played Extra Hitter/First Base alot in college. Also, Beckham can play any of the three positions- 2B, 3B, & SS. It is a matter of what position he can help us at. Also, Ozzie is trying to be supportive to the guys that are here. After all he did win a world series with some of these guys!!! Another thing, I think Quentin is going to be out for a long time and bringing up Beckham is supposed to give us a little lift.
  16. QUOTE (T R U @ May 14, 2009 -> 10:11 PM) We shoulda got Willy Taveras.. I totally agree. I thought kenny would have got him for sure.
  17. QUOTE (SoxAce @ May 8, 2009 -> 10:46 PM) ^^^^^^^^^^ Might be one of the best in the league in the 2 spot in my opinion. Hell even the 9 spot he'll thrive. I agree, Put pods at lead-off & maybe even put quentin at the #2hole . He batted second for awhile last year, until AJ eventually went to the #2 spot. Getz at nineth and Quentin could have 2 speedy guys on ahead of him after the first inning. Something needs change.
  18. Post 39, page 3. I called it. Fields being from Oklahoma like Mickey Mantle & Hawk always referring to him as Harmon Kilibrew.. The seven looks better on fields. Pods back in the 22, yes! Anderson should take #33 before someone else does
  19. 1. Alexei SS Sounds crazy but if ozzie tried it for a couple of games, who knows. 2.Getz 2B 3. Quentin LF 4. Thome DH 5. Dye RF 6. PK 1B 7.AJ C 8. Fields 3B 9. Pods CF
  20. Welcome back Pods! Spark plugs don't always have great stats, but they can help others wake up their bats. Plus, Alexei, Getz, & Lilliboy can pick up some stealing tips.
  21. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Apr 14, 2009 -> 06:05 PM) I understand all of you who think Pods should not be given 22 back. However, he is a huge part of this franchise. I'd be shocked if Fields didn't offer the number back or offer to switch back to #27. Fields can take #7, It would look better on him then Jerry Owens. Pods in 22.
  22. QUOTE (Sockin @ Apr 14, 2009 -> 10:37 AM) http://msn.foxsports.com/mlb/story/9455118...3162&ATT=49 With out Rock Raines to teach Jerry Owens how to steal baes I like the move with the sox getting Pods back. If he is healthy and it does happen, Pods could really add a true threat on the base paths. And that threat on the bases is what makes an offensive like the sox go. I know Ozzie would love it. Bottom line this move cannot hurt.
  23. QUOTE (wilmot825 @ Mar 22, 2009 -> 12:18 AM) I am going to Opening Day on the 6th and just thought maybe us Sox fans should keep it going. The whole Blackout thing was so cool from last year that maybe it should carry over into Opening Day 2009. Does anyone else agree? On opening day & every Friday (Night) home game of the year. Pass it on!
  24. As some of you might know, Mickey Mantle was orginally signed as a shortstop. I think this Beckham could make the move to Centerfield. A-rod moved to 3b instead of moving Jeter. Any thoughts??
