Your Offseason Wishlist
Funny this thread popped up. I was just looking at the list of 2017 MLB free agents and I tried to build a team based off of who'll be available. Good god... I really want a full blown rebuild.

Cespedes Watch 2016/2017
Cespedes will use the White Sox as leverage again and go re sign with the Mets. Again. No thank you. Not interested. Blow the whole thing to smithereens and let the kids play.

October 26, 2005
I remember standing around outside of a bar downtown after the final out. There wasn't any cheering for the first few minutes... I think everyone was in stunned disbelief.

Remember When The Chicago White Sox Won The World Series?
QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Oct 25, 2016 -> 03:56 PM) Honestly, it isn't the worst idea for him to be a spearhead behind an ownership group. Doesn't mean it isn't his financing. I don't want to start a political conversation here, but do you think the White Sox would gain or lose fans if President Obama lead a new ownership group?

There are plenty of White Sox fans
QUOTE (Rowand44 @ Oct 25, 2016 -> 11:35 AM) I thought you did invent google? No I invented Google. I'm going to buy the White Sox and build a new stadium with a retractable roof on the Lakefront with my pocket change.

There are plenty of White Sox fans
QUOTE (Ezio Auditore @ Oct 25, 2016 -> 10:45 AM) Why does everyone always say 35th and the Dan Ryan is a "terrible part of town?" Maybe this was true in the 90s. The projects over on Federal are all gone now, just empty lots. Bridgeport is still Bridgeport, it's not really that bad, just an ordinary neighborhood. Bronzeville on the other side of the expressway is halfway gentrified now, and the only way it's not fully gentrified is because the 2008 recession slowed everything down. Is the White Sox in a neighborhood like Wrigleyville? No, and it never will be, that ship sailed 20-something years ago. Really the only thing that irks me about the current stadium is that it faces southeast instead of northeast, so the skyline isn't visible in center field like it should be. Gentrifying Bronzeville makes it better?

I wonder what a new stadium in Naperville or in the Hoffman Estates area do to the fanbase.

Fire Sale or ANARCHY
QUOTE (JUSTgottaBELIEVE @ Oct 24, 2016 -> 12:37 PM) I mean if you are going to completely blow it up with aspirations of obtaining the strongest minor league system in baseball, why not trade Rodon and Anderson too? Combined with signing a bunch of low priced FA vets, that would guarantee top 3 draft picks for the next 3-4 years with the possibility of one or more number 1 picks over this same timeframe. You might be joking, but this is what I would do. I'd nuke the entire 25 man roster. No one would be spared. And you know what? If the Sox did that and acquired some exciting young talent, I'd go to a lot more ball games to watch them mature - even if they lost 100+ games for 2-3 years. I'm sick and tired of the same old stuff. I went to a game a in September and it was the loneliest time I'd ever spent around a few thousand people. There was no energy, no excitement, no buzz, nothing to look forward to. Nuke this entire squad. Bring in some fresh new young talent and let's watch them grow into major leaguers.

New Stadium on the lake should be a MUST!
The only way the White Sox will get a new stadium is if it's built in Portland, Montreal, North Carolina, or (God forbid) Indiana. And if that northside team (whose name I'll never say on here) goes on a Yankees-like run, I wouldn't doubt if our White Sox were forced to leave Chicago.

White Sox Coaching Staff Changes
QUOTE (Joshua Strong @ Oct 14, 2016 -> 01:11 PM) I think Severson is a good hitting coach. Look at what he's had to work with and look at how better guys in the minors are doing. Severson isn't out there swinging the bats. He can only do so much IMO.

White Sox Coaching Staff Changes
QUOTE (Joshua Strong @ Oct 14, 2016 -> 01:13 PM) I like that McEwing is back, people speak very highly of him and to have him in a bigger role should make the Sox better in the dugout. Was hoping for new blood from outside the org but I'll take it. Super Joe reminds me of Joe Maddon when he was a bench coach for Scioscia in LA.

Renteria Coaches
QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Oct 4, 2016 -> 02:52 PM) Don Mattingly said he would quit the Marlins if Bonds was back at hitting coach. That is a pretty clear statement that whatever ability he has as a hitting coach can't cover for Barry's personality. I heard Bonds was pretty motivated in the beginning, but as the season progressed his commitment waned and he was hardly ever there. I think Barry probably got bored.

Renteria Coaches
I could see Super Joe McEwing being promoted to Bench Coach.

BLACK OUT GAME CXLI
QUOTE (shipps @ Sep 30, 2016 -> 12:50 PM) Damn, it just reminds me of how much fun baseball was for me at that black out game. Probably the best sporting experience I ever personally had being at a game. I was in Section 531. That game felt like a World Series game.

USA Today: White Sox Will Retain Robin Ventura, If He Wants to Return
I think KW and RH get a bad rap. Ive always thought that KW was unfairly judged. JR is the problem. If JR tells him to field a team that will draw crowds and not a bunch of young no-names, then what is he supposed to do? We need a new owner.

Who Will Be The Next Manager of the White Sox
To me, AJ as a manager will look a lot like Matt Williams looked in Washington. No thanks. Plus Ozzie said it best... "EVERYBODY hates AJ... we just hate him a little less"

9/23 White Sox at Indians
QUOTE (The Mighty Mite @ Sep 23, 2016 -> 08:46 PM) Sox website says his shoulder and head hit the wall hard, I'm thinking possible concussion. I know most won't agree, but in my opinion it's actually selfish to go balls out against a wall like that. It's one out in a meaningless game.

Good god just make it stop. I wish the season was over already.

What should the Sox do this winter?
QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Sep 13, 2016 -> 09:31 AM) Avi in his last 35 games is .302/.344/.526. If he finishes the season strong, what happens next? Is he still a non tender? Even if he could keep his bat going... can you trust his defense? Would you be comfortable with him at DH. I don't think so.

2017 Lineup
QUOTE (IowaSoxFan @ Sep 12, 2016 -> 10:32 AM) They do not have the resources to get that hitter. He definitely does not exist in FA, and they don't have the pieces to acquire him in a trade. Your best hope is that Collins turns into that player. If that's the case, then torch the team and trade everybody not named Tim Anderson or Carlos Rodon.

Take Warning (Suspensions are Coming)
Eh... just switch over to twitter for a few minutes when you want to flame someone, then come back here when you've gotten it all out of your system.

New Ballpark Name
A good fix for this would be if they changed the name of the company from Guaranteed Rate to something more desirable. Guaranteed Rate Field sounds like a minor league ballpark.

August 17th Game Thread: ChiSox at Cleveland
QUOTE (bjm676 @ Aug 17, 2016 -> 03:20 PM) out on a limb to say Sox lose this one 6-1. Nah I say 2-1. The kid will pitch well but won't get run support because we haven't seen that enough yet this year.

Is this a PR Disaster for the Sox?
QUOTE (Black_Jack29 @ Aug 2, 2016 -> 11:03 AM) The Cubs have been the most popular team in Chicago since the mid-80s. Win or lose, they have fans. Same goes for the Red Sox in the Northeast. Their fan base hasn't changed much since 2004. And that team in the north hasn't won a world series in over 100 years. I imagine their fan base will increase if they became a dynasty like the Yankees. That will be especially bad for the White Sox if they continue to be inept.

Is this a PR Disaster for the Sox?
QUOTE (South Sider @ Aug 2, 2016 -> 10:56 AM) The Mets still have a solid fanbase. Granted, New York is a different animal than Chicago, but I think that shows us that not all is lost for the Sox in Chicago should the Cubs become a dynasty. Yeah but how many more people are in the New York metropolitan area? Way more than Chicago.
