Yep same. I would not be excited about this at all. He had been interviewed by KC once before and they went with Matheny instead and he’s literally right there to fill the manager vacancy and they haven’t done it. Hard pass.

They were also floating Dave Martinez out there, don’t know if he has been connected in any way

You are talking about an organization who hired a guy who just got a DUI earlier in the year. To think Jerry gives a crap about what anyone else thinks when it comes to hiring his guy you are far off base with that. He doesn’t care about any kind of back lash as been proven previously

Maybe Willie Harris because he’s an Ozzie guy but I couldn’t think of anyone else

The only positives I see Ozzie bringing to this team is his fire/passion, knowledge of this team watching them every night and his connection to the Latin players on the roster. As far as his approach to how the game should be played I don’t think he would be a good fit in todays baseball.

While it might be a good fit for him to get back into the game, I see it bringing locker room divide and trouble for a brand new manager

You really think his ego would let him take a role like bench coach? Having him in this role might drive a wedge between him and a new incoming manager.

The root of the problem is we know it’s not Hahns call, it’s a collaborative effort from all of the 3 stooges with ultimately Jerry having 51 percent of that vote instead of letting his employees do their job.

I believe that’s the case because of what literally just happened 2 years ago today….as long as JR is the owner fans have every right to be skeptical of this front office / ownership

If you believe Jerry when he said he would have traded all 6 NBA championships for a World Series title then you can’t under estimate Jerry’s affection for the one manager who brought him that World Series title. He’s not getting any younger and until Ozzie is ruled out I would not put it past JR to hire him again

I’m sure dinner/drinks with Jerry is exactly how the TLR conversations started.
