  1. Anyone have an update on Phegley? Injuries have just crushed last year's draft class.
  2. So, who are the high ceiling "tough signs" of this draft class?
  3. QUOTE (Dizzy Sox @ Jun 7, 2010 -> 11:12 PM) I sure hope not...7.90 ERA, 2-7 record, more H allowed than IPs...10th round flier at best. Good point on Morgado, he had sights of being a first round pick this year, did not realize his stats were so poor. He will regret not signing with us. Do we get an extra pick for not signing him, will have to check that out.
  4. Will be interesting to see where Morgado goes tomorrow. There were a lot of people who had him convinced he would be a first rounder this year by going back into the draft.
  5. I was still hoping that Randy Williams would not be on the roster anymore tonight, but that must have just been wishful thinking.
  6. QUOTE (Thunderbolt @ Jun 3, 2010 -> 08:26 PM) Well, this is a cheerful thought. "The Georgia Tech righty could go much higher, as he's the safest pitcher in the draft, but he's anything but an upside guy." That has Wyatt Allen, Lance Broadway, and Kyle McCulloch written all over that.
  7. QUOTE (BearSox @ Jun 2, 2010 -> 12:17 AM) I posted this in the gamethread, but it seems more appropiate here since this thread is on the subject... Really, is the only reason why Randy is on this team is because he is a lefty? That's the biggest f***ing BS I've ever seen. I understand you would prefer to have a lefty, but more importantly you would rather have someone who is good. And if we don't have a single f***ing pitcher in AAA outside of Hudson who is better than Randy Williams, our whole f***ing scouting department and Kenny should be fired this instant. Just to pile on, I was not happy about Williams being on this team when the Sox broke camp. It is disgusting that he is still up.
  8. Is Ozney Guillen draft eligible this year and does anyone think we would take him if he is?
  9. QUOTE (Thunderbolt @ May 16, 2010 -> 03:41 PM) I really like seeing Viciedo develop power. He's on pace for a great year, assuming that k-rate works itself out. Danks 2-5 with a 2b, 3b, 2 k's. Embree gets lit up. Hawks always says that Charlotte is a hitters park, does that make Viciedo's numbers inflated?
  10. These last two games have been painful to watch offensively.
  11. I found a lot of the Prime 9 picks and the order strange, Fisk's debut over Buehrle's perfect game..........Oh well, it is a good show though.
  12. One more tidbit, one of the scouts indicated that losing John Ely is not a loss to the Sox at all, he reminded us that he was 14-3 on a dominant Barons team and that he is scheduled to be about the 4th reliever in New Mexico this year.
  13. QUOTE (JPN366 @ Mar 31, 2010 -> 07:26 AM) I'm so envious of you right now. It would be awesome to go out there even for a few days. Here's Dylan Axelrod's profile... Dylan Axelrod It was even better than I could have imagined, on Sunday morning, we could watch four minor league games at ONE time, we watch AAA, AA, High A, Low A it was truly incredible and Camelback is a wonderful facility. The games started at 1, but the Sox/Dodgers opened up the minor league fields at 9 a.m. Just awesome.
  14. I just got back from a four day visit to Camelback Ranch to watch the Sox, it is a great experience!! With that, I know that this might be hard to believe, but from my perspective, Viciedo looked in GREAT shape, he is a husky guy, but we watched him him in the minor league fields each day and he belted a 420 foot homer yesterday. There were only five of us there each morning, one of the pitchers that had the coaches buzzing was Axelrod. He has never seemed to be on anyone's prospect list. It was mostly parents of the players and the four people in my group. It was cool!!!
  15. No kidding, if he puts up those numbers that would be awesome!! Two weeks until opening day, can't wait.
  16. What is going to happen when the KW drafts Ozney Guillen in the next couple of years?
  17. Cabrera with a terrible outing today, he has no chance of making the opening day roster.
  18. Mitchell out for the year, that hurts.
  19. Has to be an infielder, I voted for Nix.
  20. Nice spring training game for Mitchell today!!!
  21. I know it's early but I think we can eliminate Dolsi and Cabrera from the list to make the team in April......................
  22. Tribune says that Phegley hurt his knee on practice today, but it's not believed to be serious. Don't like the sound of that.
  23. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Feb 27, 2010 -> 10:23 AM) There's a new sheriff in town, and they aren't so desperate to unload money. If they do eventually get Ellsbury in a Gonzalez deal, there's a good chance they will have to pay Ellsbury more than Gonzalez will make in 2011. Its all about the prospects. It may be a reason the White Sox are more likely to keep a guy like Flowers in AAA. If he shows he's adequate defensively and is raking the ball down there, there is a far better chance of him being attractive to SD than a guy that catches once a week and may struggle initially offensively like most hitters do. Call me crazy, but I believe Flowers has a far better chance to stick on the MLB roster if Gonzalez is not available. Ellsbury is close to arbitration and I'm not sure the Padres want to take on that nightmare with Boras as his agent.
  24. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Feb 27, 2010 -> 08:21 AM) http://www.csnchicago.com/02/26/10/Mooney-...&feedID=621 Thanks, great article, very excited about Mitchell!!
