  1. QUOTE (fathom @ Aug 11, 2017 -> 09:05 PM) For everyone that complains about Hawk taking about old players, it's not much better with Sticks and Stone. I highly doubt much of the audience cares about players from the late 70s disagree.
  2. QUOTE (steveno89 @ Aug 10, 2017 -> 10:14 AM) He's young so I'll give him some benefit of the doubt, but at the same time if he is truly an elite prospect he should be doing more than just holding his own. Next season will be telling as he gets bumped up to A+ Winston Salem. We need to see more pop and arguably more from the bat in general. Oh so true. We have to remember, the Yanks are very shrewd. That is, they might have given up on Rutherford as an "elite" prospect. Otherwise, they would not have let him go, possibly. AFL might be very good for him.
  3. QUOTE (Alexeihyeess @ Aug 11, 2017 -> 01:48 PM) If a player is in the majors they cease to be a prospect. Yes, except for September call-ups.
  4. Victor Diaz has had a "spotty" season. Okay.
  5. I sure wish Delmonico could play third.
  6. QUOTE (Sleepy Harold @ Aug 8, 2017 -> 04:38 PM) Scott Merkin @scottmerkin 8s Rick Hahn said Luis Robert will finish the season in the DSL and then go through Instructional League action there. Do mean Instructional League HERE, or IL in The Dominican?
  7. Everyone's favorite umpire got his butt suspended for calling out Beltre publicly.
  8. Q gave up a three run bomb to Posey in first inning. Giants have a chance.
  9. QUOTE (fathom @ Aug 8, 2017 -> 08:42 PM) With no outs, you're supposed to tag You don't tag up at first unless you are pretty damn sure the ball is going to be caught. Just saw why.
  10. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Aug 8, 2017 -> 06:41 PM) His numbers have actually gotten better with his promotion. Unreal. Prospect # 27 per Future Sox. Should be higher.
  11. QUOTE (elrockinMT @ Aug 8, 2017 -> 06:52 PM) Holland loads the bases and then gives up a bases loaded triple. It just never fails Never saw a replay of the pickoff at second base. Anybody see it? Bad call?
  12. QUOTE (Rowand44 @ Aug 7, 2017 -> 06:45 PM) Weird start so far for Adams. 6 walks, 6 hits allowed. I wonder if coaches screwed him up by changing his delivery?
  13. QUOTE (Hatchetman @ Aug 7, 2017 -> 05:38 PM) Are SBs really essential to his DSL experience? No. Especially stealing home, the cause of his first injury.
  14. QUOTE (zenryan @ Jul 31, 2017 -> 05:33 PM) As the resident Rays fan, thank goodness. I thought he improved, finally.
  15. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Aug 7, 2017 -> 05:53 PM) Wonder how close Cashman was to letting go of Torres for Q or the eventual package that became Rutherford...? Probably not very, despite the season-ending surgery. http://www.nydailynews.com/sports/baseball...ticle-1.3372695 Historians, correct me if I am wrong, or just add to this. Cashman was originally hired by The Boss Steinbrenner years ago when Cashman was a youngster, not really qualified to be GM, but that's what GS wanted. So, George ran the show and Cashman did as told, and years later, Cashman is probably as good as any GM in MLB.
  16. Giants peed off their fans by winning today. Sox are surging ahead.
  17. Geez, Micah Johnson hitting .360 for Gwinett playing CF.
  18. Does anybody here have info on the high school SS prospect Turang?
  19. QUOTE (Sleepy Harold @ Aug 6, 2017 -> 12:02 AM) Giants won tonight, which by winning percentage now bumps the White Sox to the #2 spot. Right. Giants, who have Panda Bear playing third, have played 4 more games that White Sox, but they are two games ahead in the all important Win Column.
  20. QUOTE (Alexeihyeess @ Aug 5, 2017 -> 05:10 PM) .977 OPS is crushing, or at least very close to it. 977 is obviously a great OPS, but a large part of that is OBP and a large part of that is a lot of walks, which is not the definition of crushing. Still, his stats are okay.
  21. QUOTE (The Mighty Mite @ Aug 5, 2017 -> 07:32 PM) Is it that much? I thought he had a year left at 12 million. EDIT.....per Baseball Reference he gets 21 million in 2018 with the Padres picking up 11 million, 2019 there is a 2 million buyout. Further testimony about the brilliance of General Managers everywhere.
  22. Lousy slide by Moncada at third base. Belly slide, and he short armed it. Out. Feet first, he makes it. And when Nicky was picked off second, it looked to me as if the infielder was blocking the base before he had the ball. Oh, well.
  23. Suicide watch terminated.
  24. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jul 31, 2017 -> 10:41 AM) Joel Sherman‏Verified account @Joelsherman1 53m53 minutes ago #Mets are getting Jamie Callahan, Gerson Bautista and Stephen Nogosek from #redsox for Reed 30 replies 107 retweets 143 likes I'm sure all of those ex-Bosox relievers are better than the slug Diaz we got in the Sale trade.
