Your MLB Realignment
And since the new teams would be in the AL, they could give some aging sluggers one last home.

Your MLB Realignment
QUOTE (GreatScott82 @ Mar 14, 2010 -> 10:23 PM) Im okay with it. The interleague schedule is bunched up together around June, instead of having that, the league can spread it out throughout the season, there would be at least one interleague series going. Each team has 18 interleague games- so that would be very easy to spread throughout the season. If the league isn't okay with that, then expand. Why doesn't Omaha have an MLB team?- the entire state of Nebraska is baseball crazy. How about Portland or Las Vegas? There are pleanty of options. . "Diluting the talent pool" is the reason I often hear against expansion. I quite frankly, think thats crap. The talent pool went from the United States mainly to the whole freaking world.

QUOTE (GreatScott82 @ Mar 14, 2010 -> 10:12 PM) We've had these since 1991 I believe. We won the World Series with these. They will not change them or nor should they. The only thing I miss are these alternates: http://images.google.com/imgres?imgurl=htt...%26tbs%3Disch:1 I miss the vest alternates...weren't they cut in 2007?

2010 Chicago White Sox Spring Training
QUOTE (JorgeFabregas @ Mar 14, 2010 -> 08:13 PM) Is Retherford a good defender at any position? My understanding was that he was adequate at best. Wasn't he voted the Southern League best defensive 2B?

2010 Chicago White Sox Spring Training
QUOTE (jphat007 @ Mar 14, 2010 -> 06:20 PM) Amen. Nix can get you a few 3 run bombs down 8 runs and a decent amount of walks, but he is worthless at driving runs in. And he's worthless defensively when not at 2nd.

AGon discussion, et. al.
QUOTE (GreatScott82 @ Mar 14, 2010 -> 06:10 PM) yep. . he'll be a Red Sox or a White Sox by midseason. Stay tuned. . Or, he'll create a new type of Sox. QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Mar 14, 2010 -> 06:18 PM) There are quite a few teams who are going to have interest in Adrian Gonzalez. Beyond that, the Red Sox have Youkilis, Ortiz, and Beltre as capable players at 1B, 3B, and DH, and still have Mike Lowell on their roster too. They'd have to make room for Gonzalez before they bring him in. The biggest sleeper in this entire race, to me, is the Mariners. They have prospects to deal, don't have a strong 1B platoon (Kotchman/Garko should be effective, but it's not ideal), and should be in contention all year. I wish Bavasi was still the Mariners GM...would make it easier for us. Zduriencik is an aggressive GM that I can see pulling the trigger.

Who was the most reviled current Sox here
QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Mar 14, 2010 -> 06:53 PM) You're kidding, right? The most reviled, hated, despised, loathed White Sox player of the last 10 years is EASILY Scott Podsednik. Anderson, Fields, Betemit, Wise...

Paul Lukas wrote about how they were overdue awhile ago... ...and I still disagree. Changing for the sake of changing is a horrible idea, especially when we had to suffer through so much crap to get the classics we have now. Also, I love the black jerseys.

QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Mar 14, 2010 -> 05:51 PM) Ryan Howard for Albert Pujols trade talks? Shouldn't that say "Howard, Hamels, & top prospects for the possibility of Pujols"? Pujols >>>>>>>> Howard, hands down.

QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Mar 14, 2010 -> 02:48 PM) Why would you hate Flowers??? 1) The PEDs. It's a long time ago, but I dislike that. 2) I like AJ, and think he still has a few good years left. 3) He nicknamed himself T-Flow. Flowers for some reason is the one prospect I don't have a world of confidence in either, not sure why though.

AGon discussion, et. al.
QUOTE (chisoxfan09 @ Mar 14, 2010 -> 01:05 PM) New rumor fodder. With each passing rumor it really seems it will be a question of not if but when. This latest one discusses the fact that Agon is not in the club press guide for any type of events this year such as jerseys or bobbleheads. May or may not mean anything or may have been covered before. Link: http://www.cbssports.com/mlb/story/1304698...ade-winds-swirl When Clayton Richard gets a bobblehead night over Gonzalez, you know he'll be traded.

MLB 10: The Show
I'm thinking of making a league, let's see if this clears with everyone: League Name: SoxTalk (figured it's a good name for an online league from here) Slogan: N/A (Didn't want to put one up yet) Division Type: Divisional (as opposed to Round Robin) Division 1: Pale Hose Central Division 2: The Diamond Club League Sign-Up: Private (or Public?) Max Teams: I'd say 14, since we have 13 members on the PSN list. Min Skill: Veteran (rookie seems a bit cheap..) Max Skill: Hall of Fame (I'd say that seems like a fair cap) Playoff Teams: 4 (can have 2,4,6,8) Games Per Series: 2 (I say its better than 3, since it would cut back on games) Series Per Div. Opponent: 2 Series Pre Non-Div.: 2 Series Duration: 1 Day Player Draft: On Draft Round Timer: I think 30-60 would be good...what should it be? Draft Day: N/A Draft Time: N/A Allow Trades: On Auto Resolve Games: On Game Difficult Level: Veteran Guess Pitch: Default Strike Zones: On Hot Zones: On Injuries: On Strike Zone: Variable Ejections: On Do these seem OK with everyone?

White Sox Jerseys.
QUOTE (chisoxfan09 @ Mar 13, 2010 -> 06:54 PM) Anyone have a Beckham jersey yet?? I bought a Beckham shirt during the 13-inning Dodgers game. He then scored the winning run. I almost bought a grey Beckham #15 Knights jersey they were selling when he got called up, but decided against it.

Tyler Flowers for me if he was on the 25. I don't really hate Linebrink, but I wish he could learn to stay healthy.

Competitors for the open bullpen slot
QUOTE (Heads22 @ Mar 13, 2010 -> 10:58 PM) Greg Aquino and Sergio Santos appear to be the early leaders. I'm rooting for Santos, for 3 reasons. 1) I think he'll do well 2) With ESPN talking about him, it will be harder to pass him through waivers. 3) His name is awesome.

Saturday Split Squad Action
Hawk just said he wants to carry 13 pitchers to keep Santos...why not just make him the 12th?

Your MLB Realignment
Honestly, what would stop the Yankees and Red Sox having handshake agreements with teams like Cleveland, Kansas City, Toronto, and Baltimore to get the easiest schedule possible for themselves and inflate their records, and getting high picks for the other teams?

2010 AL Central Catch-All
QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Mar 11, 2010 -> 11:48 AM) After seeing the Agon rumors, I can only imagine what a catcher would get. Anyone not named Pujols.

Miracles can happen, Twinkies may consider trading Mauer
QUOTE (iamshack @ Mar 13, 2010 -> 01:57 PM) Carl Pohlad was. He has since passed away. I am not certain if the team is still in his family or not. Just checked, his son, Jim, is the current owner.

Mitchell tears tendon
QUOTE (CaliSoxFanViaSWside @ Mar 13, 2010 -> 12:14 PM) I don't think showing concern over an individuals injury is an over reaction especially given it's serious nature. Mitchell has huge upside but this type of injury can lead to chronic problems. It could be the difference between having a Carl Crawford type player or a Dwayne Wise. In 9 AB's in spring training he already looked better than Wise ever did with 3 of his 4 hits being for extra bases. And thats why I'm worried...he was already looking like if he kept it up at this pace, he'd be replacing Pierre at leadoff 2 years from now, instead, we'll need a stop gap or have to resign Pierre (which may or may not be a bad thing). But then again, with the way sports work, for all we know he could heal very well and suddenly dominate next year.

Isn't the Twins owner very wealthy (in MLB owner terms) and just doesn't spend as much on payroll...or am I thinking of someone else?

Well, lets hope we land a top 10 pick, we're 11th right now without the lottery being involved. And Johnson actually didn't perform that badly getting starters minutes.

White Sox Jerseys.
QUOTE (LVSoxFan @ Mar 11, 2010 -> 10:07 AM) As the owner of 10 Sox jerseys, all authentic, I think up above Roc has the right idea--you can't go wrong with a Buehrle jersey because it'll still be relevant even after he's gone because he's a Sox icon. I have one (the home vest) and it was a good investment. I also have an A.J. jersey for the same reason. I would suggest that too. I think Beckham's a safe bet as well. I too, got burned when I bought a Loaiza 2004 All-Star jersey... and he was traded 2 weeks later. I still wear it--it looks great--but lesson learned. I almost bought a Brandon McCarthy one in 2005--phew, bullet dodged! Paulie's another sure fire one, but everybody has those. I say you can't go wrong with Buehrle or A.J. Even Jenks maybe. Of current players, I'd say Paulie, Buehrle, Beckham, Jenks, and AJ are all safe bets. I wonder if they'll sell #43 Garcia shirts at the stores...
