  1. The obsession with moving one of the best defensive third basemen in baseball back to second base confounds me.
  2. In what is probably a complete overreaction to the post-GarPax, AKME-era Bulls overseen by Michael Reinsdorf looking promising where it seems like Reinsdorf the Younger made the correct moves to get the ball rolling and has since let the Front Office do its own thing, would you accept MR as a new Chairman post-JR?
  3. I feel like Gallo is gonna want out of NY.
  4. I honest to God don't remember Walt Lemon.
  5. I expected them to be fun to watch on offense. I didn't expect them to be fun on defense.
  6. I will accept this is as an admission that your Abreu threads are trolling and henceforth lock them. See, mods do stuff!
  7. I only want it to be true because of the chaos it would bring.
  8. They also offer up Wil Myers in that article. That's a "our trash for your second All-Star closer that you could just decline an option on." If I have to take back Myers, I want good prospect back.
  9. Sir, have you met us and/or the White Sox front office? In the unlikely scenario they make the correct moves, people here will not be happy.
  10. Nah, I liked the Kimbrel trade and drank the kool-aid. Whoops. You also posted this in October, well after the Padres pitching staff was shown to be horrendous. And the Padres won a playoff series in 2020, great. They finished under .500 and have Myers/Hosmer ($82.5M vs. $34M owed to Keuchel and Kimbrel), articles are coming out about how Preller looks like a batshit crazy man, they're going to lose one of their prospects to dump Hosmer. Don't forget Tatis is likely going to miss time with shoulder surgery. But don't worry, their pitching staff will be just fine, because of a bunch of dudes with either Tommy John or other injuries. They did a great job of rebuilding their innings this year.
  11. Caulfield: God help the Sox if they do these things. Also Caulfield: The under .500 Padres might be ok next year due to a AA pitcher that regressed and several pitchers coming back from severe injuries.
  12. Actually, now that I googled their pre-Atlanta numbers, if we had acquired any of these dudes at the deadline, SoxTalk would have been on suicide watch (except maybe Joc because of our year's long desire for him). But major league scouting should be able to look past that.
  13. Amazing that someone gave Egghead another job. It's basically the G-League All-Stars, but still. Holy hell.
  14. This is the first time they've been over .500 since March 2, 2017.
  15. Jansen is probably gone next year.

  18. I think Kimbrel goes to an NL buyer, of which the Padres (bad) and Phillies (dreadful) had the 17th and 27th ranked bullpens in baseball. Granted, the Sox had the #2 bullpen behind Tampa, so take that for what it's worth.
  19. I imagine we'll all have 1001 trade proposals this offseason: We know Kimbrel's option is almost certainly being picked up and he'll be shopped, the 1B/C/OF/DH logjam needs to be figured out, etc. Here's a thread to put your ideas, be they realistic or insane.
  20. I'm banking on the pitching staff being more stretched out next year and this lineup being the most "hitting is contagious lineup" imaginable, so I voted Semien.
  21. I go the NBA for likable figures like Kyrie Irving, Ben Simmons, [insert player #50 demanding a trade]. The NBA has a metric fuckton of unlikable figures. And likable ones. If you find it boring, that's fine, but that second point is wack.
  22. Happy for Gafford. Wish we could have kept him after Theis left, especially now that we have plenty of dudes that could send lobs to Gaff. He'll be making a higher AAV than Wendell. Dunn's been cut. Hutch has been cut. Trying to get quality second rounders were so undervalued for so long by the previous FO. I can only think of Asik until Gafford (yes, I realize the second round is a crapshoot, but it felt like GarPax didn't take it seriously).
