  1. You know what blows my mind? The Dodgers and Rays, the World Series teams with prospect firepower far outweighing the Sox (ESPECIALLY the Rays) were looking at Kimbrel and the Sox beat that by just saying "fine, take our second baseman of the future. We're not wasting this window." I was a Nick fan and I love that, because Nicky was the most expendable of the core.
  2. Hell yeah. Cleveland was all about caring for Abreu. I appreciate La Russa's mad dash to plate and also completely understand Cleveland's team misinterpreting that. But everyone acted like grown ups after that and instead of fighting returned to worrying about a guy hit in the head. Then they hugged it.
  3. That league average bat in our lineup is a switch-hitting gold glover on pace for 30 home runs - and he's hitting eighth behind Anderson, Moncada find his rhythm, Abreu, Eloy, Grandal, Robert, and Vaughn. After him is a combo of Goodwin, Sheets, and Engel. We've seen with this lineup that hitting is contagious, especially those homers. With Eloy, Grandal, and Robert coming back, Cesar lighting a fuse is gonna be real fun.
  4. Keeps dislocating it. Don't 100% quote me on this, but after he dislocated it from his swing, surgery was recommended - basically was told it'll keep happening, but each time would be worse than the last if he doesn't have surgery. Surgery would be season ending. He and the team took the gamble on this one.
  5. Er, Abreu got hit in the skull with the bases loaded. We avoided a NOBLETIGER.
  6. Really tried to convince the ump it was a ball.
  7. Jose is best in so many ways. He gets beat the fuck up and keeps going because he wants to be there for the team and lead. But he leads by example and is super kind and soft spoken. Grade A human and baseball player, and unless you're trying to meme a message board, there's no reason you should ever talk badly about this man.
  8. Karnichak is a crazy man and a complete asshole, but you can tell by his reaction he didn't want to hit Jose in the head. Who started this shit?
  9. No no no no no no no

  12. Welp, Kimbrel better get warming.
  13. Great hitting, real bad send.
  14. Not as good as Mookie Betts carrying a Jose Abreu fly out over the fence for a home run, but still pretty good.
  15. The Reinsdorf way is trading a cheap controllable player for the most expensive closer in the NL while the team already has the most expensive closer in the AL, giving the team the best 1-2 punch to close out games in baseball as they are nearly guaranteed to go into the playoffs? Cool.
  16. All signs point you.

  24. If that's the case, Hoyer did lines with Preller and Hoyer was far too gone.
