Seby Zavala to injured list with wrist inflammation

Yeah, whenever he gets mentioned its mostly that 1) He's a lottery ticket (which is still true - he just happened to be the winning ticket) 2) Why are we giving up anything other than Erik Johnson? We had basically 0 insight into Tatis back then. The only reason people disliked it was because it was acquiring James Shields, who we all basically hated. I still think SoxTalk basically willed Tatis the super prospect into being.

Oh man, I had almost forgotten about the trade until you dropped this link.

If this offseason taught me anything, it's that I hate random internet insiders. -

I think he's supposed to charge the first base ump? But yeah, that was bad. -

Advancing the runner isn't bad, but not what we needed. -

Right now would be a good time for a bat flip. -
We might not be able to trade him with Colome for Ian Happ and Montgomery if we do that.

Rex Hudler is everything wrong with baseball.

- Get rid of the Competitive Balance Picks. Big market teams might not be as inclined to tank if they know their 2nd round pick will actually be in the 30s. Right now a 2nd rounder for a team missing the playoffs can be in the early 60s. - Do the Bill Simmons tournament, where teams do a single-elimination tournament to set the draft order. Winner gets the top pick, runner up gets second, then the rest is by W-L. - Do the above, but with a twist. Roster has to be constructed as follows: Allowed 5 MLB players (26 and younger), 5 AAA players, 5 AA players, 5 A+ players, 5 A players. All of the minor-league players have to have prospect status in tact. This crazy ass idea will incentivize teams to develop their farms.

Jesse Rogers (Cubs reporter) floats Colome for Montgomery deal

Then after The Feathered Serpent is reborn, we flip Q for Kyle Tucker and Josh James from the Astros. -

The Cubs currently have Darvish, Hamels, Q, Hendricks, Chatwood, and Lester on the 10-day IL. Unless they're banishing one of them to the pen for Nova, your deal makes no sense. -

You don't trade closers for two years of a 29-year-old "solid" RP -

Hard pass. Little control, not young. Would much rather try to get a back end/just outside of the Top 100 at the deadline with Colome. -
Just saw he had good stats, so gonna call this one "yoga" rage.

Did he stop doing yoga?

Nothing in Adam Engel's history implies he could be that. That's like saying you'll turn Daniel Palka into the Cincinnati version of Adam Dunn.

The all-timer was Storm Throne, pitcher. Unfortunately, he sucked.

They said the plan was to stretch him back out. He was also went through the same thing in college. He was a starter, in contention for 1-1 draft status, fell apart, got sent to the bullpen, Sox drafted him, was made a starter again, flourished, etc. He lost 40 lbs. last year, regained it this year. Hopefully he'll just continue to stretch out and be starting in AA by the end of the year. Also, speaking of players needing promotions like Walker, what about Gunnar Troutwine? Dude is slashing .379/.514/1.100. 8 walks to 9 strikeouts. Catchers throughout the system seem to be holding their own at the moment so it might be a log jam, but that's just about the best log jam to have.

Driveline ranks the Sox as the least effective org at developing players
Quin replied to ron883's topic in Pale Hose Talk
It can be discussed on the FutureSox board. We want to try to avoid multiple threads on the same topic across boards. -
If we called each other untermensch in conversation, this might hold weight, but we don't. Instead, have you ever called a fellow Jewish person"Jew"? Cause that's the more apt comparison. I know I have, but I know I've has people call me a "Jew" and based on their tone, who they are, etc. that it was intended as a slur. https://www.nytimes.com/2017/04/22/opinion/reclaiming-jew.html

Wait, you mean in meetings you don't take off your notepad, spike it on the ground and run at someone who made you mad yelling f-bombs? That's not normal?
