  1. This could possibly be the worst thread in Soxtalk history
  2. The Feathered Serpent rises
  3. Here's a non Presidential example: Roger Goodell and formerly David Stern showed up to drafts where they were booed mercilessly.
  4. QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ May 1, 2017 -> 05:12 PM) Surprised no one posted this. Long story short...reports that Paxson may overtake day-to-day duties and that his brother is expected to take on a larger role. Both moves are ones that diminish Gar's involvement. http://www.chicagotribune.com/sports/colum...430-column.html Paxson is the better drafter and more aggressive, I like it. Supposedly he wanted to actually address this mess, but was outvoted.
  5. QUOTE (South Side Fireworks Man @ May 1, 2017 -> 05:11 PM) Even crappier, it's May day. I get it
  6. QUOTE (ptatc @ May 1, 2017 -> 04:58 PM) Not really advisable. The graft only fully regenerates at 3. 6 months is really pushing it. It's usually closer to 9. It was super light, like jogging and some mild drills with the brace. Seven I was allowed to around eight I was allowed to go back to practice full with few restrictions, nine I was cleared.
  7. QUOTE (soxfan2014 @ May 1, 2017 -> 10:15 AM) I've been dealing with a knee injury for a few months. Whenever I sit, stand still, or lay down too long (even sleeping), my knee and thigh hurt. I think I hyper-extended it. When I walk, occasionally, there is a pop in my knee. My buddy has had a torn ACL in his life and thinks that it could be that. What do you think? Also really want to know since I'm playing in a baseball league this summer and I catch (yeah, it's awful for the week leading up to the next game). I hyperextended my knee in highschool and had the popping until I actually tore my ACL. It didn't cause me any pain though. I'm also a bad example because I played sports for eight months after tearing my ACL/meniscus. We're not quite sure how. I then also had an absurdly fast recovery.
  8. QUOTE (steveno89 @ May 1, 2017 -> 08:54 AM) Not sure how Montes de Oca would be worth a top 50 draft selection? He's had quite a bit of injury trouble that would make many other -players much better selection in the top few rounds I'm a Mizzou homer. Objectively, he'd be a good third pick
  9. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Apr 30, 2017 -> 06:54 PM) Vladimir Putin? Steve Bannon?
  10. Obama totally got along with all of the press and never took light-hearted digs, even if they were questioning his birthplace.
  11. QUOTE (beautox @ Apr 28, 2017 -> 08:01 AM) new list is up link Here is what I think could be a realistic draft for their first three picks. 11 - Adam Haseley 49 - Bryce Montes de Oca 87 - Luis Gonzalez Having missed out on Benintendi previously they get their "guy" here at 11 with Haseley . They have a history with Montes de Oca and could come under the slot value of 1.39M, due to familiarity, popping him early and his injury concerns. Gonzalez fits the mold of the recent draft trend the Ender Inciarte comp is nice. Snagging Haseley and Montes de Oca would definitely be my ideal first two picks.
  12. QUOTE (flavum @ Apr 30, 2017 -> 10:17 AM) Also has a torn meniscus and high ankle sprain. 6-9 month recovery after surgery, which hasn't been scheduled yet. I tore my ACL and meniscus and was playing sports with a brace at six months, fully recovered at nine. The ACL/meniscus combo is really s***ty though, as it doesn't let you be aggressive at all to begin rehab.
  13. Shelby Miller trade continues to be the worst.
  14. QUOTE (Quinarvy @ Apr 29, 2017 -> 03:12 PM) Hawk and Stone jinxed the hell out of that
  15. QUOTE (bmags @ Apr 29, 2017 -> 10:16 AM) Maybe if Robles loses a hand. So...we get a future Jedi?
  16. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Apr 29, 2017 -> 12:41 PM) He can do this. Wow. https://www.instagram.com/p/3JrCt6S1mL/ Well, s***. That's cool.
  17. QUOTE (bmags @ Apr 28, 2017 -> 04:36 PM) Then next year if they are terrible they can trade back and get 2 first round picks and everyone will be so happy. If they pick Adams, he may be great, but he'd immediately be one of the highest paid safeties in the league. So when we are talking about value, that's also an issue. It's like taking a 1b in the top tfive of the baseball draft. CHEER FOR BEER
  18. QUOTE (bmags @ Apr 28, 2017 -> 04:17 PM) Is anyone driving Robles back? But why not drive him to Winston-Salem?
  19. Still personally/selfishly hoping we don't take a QB and take Dobbs in the second
