This Era
QUOTE (2005thxfrthmmrs @ May 20, 2016 -> 12:16 PM) He already is. Ted Lyons spent 21 seasons with the team and is a HoFer. Ed Walsh had the first championship for the team, designed Comiskey and had some of the most dominant seasons ever. Sale's in striking distance though.

5/19 games
QUOTE (Markbilliards @ May 19, 2016 -> 11:58 PM) I really want to see Eddy Alvarez get it going. It feels shocking to see him do so poorly after dominating so much in his past seasons. He's not striking out, so I feel like his average will start going up soon

AND THAT'S A WHITE SOX WINNER!!!
QUOTE (Lip Man 1 @ May 19, 2016 -> 10:31 PM) The good news: A. They won B. Sale is incredible The bad news: A. Offense almost shut down by a pitcher with an ERA of about five and a half. B. Had scoring chances (man on third - no out and get...nothing!) and wasted every one of them. Still it's a win for a change. Now let's see if someone OTHER than Sale can win a baseball game this weekend. Q needs to pitch well and getting him some offense would be nice...(especially since Gonzales goes Saturday, that could get ugly..) Q by the way is 1-6 against Kansas City in his career. Mark To be fair, Quintana has been the victim of some of the lousiest support in history. And he's improved still this year.

QUOTE (greg775 @ May 19, 2016 -> 05:05 PM) Did you read the Baltimore story I posted? Hillary supporters/lovers just skip past all the crap she's done. Like Hillary, just laugh it off with one laugh. I never said Drumpf was Saint Nick. He may be a scumbag, but Bernie ... he's another story. He may have a shred of integrity. I did. I also know US history. More corrupt off the top of my head include Aaron Burr, Andrew Jackson, Al Smith, Franklin Pierce and Richard Nixon. The first three were all associated with Tammany Hall, Pierce essentially tricked his way into the presidency and hastened the road to the civil war and Nixon, well, that needs no explaining.

QUOTE (greg775 @ May 19, 2016 -> 04:52 PM) With all due respect, Hillary supporters always have a comeback when something cut-and-dried atrocious is pointed out about her. I stand by Warren's short, LOLish explanation of the Hillary flip flop. She is the most crooked candidate we've ever had IMO. Illini ... you say Hillary over walking disaster Drumpf. You forgot ... Bernie is still breathing. Just give it to Bernie this time and see how he does. Hillary and Drumpf are evil; at least Bernie isn't evil. I'd ask if this is a joke, but you're completely irrational on this topic so who cares.

PENN STATE SCANDAL

QUOTE (GoSox05 @ May 18, 2016 -> 11:22 AM) Yeah, kinda. That Hulk movie just seemed so distant from the current Marvel universe. It was out 4 or 5 years before Avengers. I don't think they ever really talked about any of the events that happened in the Hulk movie. They only usually vaguely reference it as the Harlem incident. Big reason that Thunderbolt Ross was in Civil War was because Russo Bros. wanted to bring that movie back in the fold.

QUOTE (GoSox05 @ May 18, 2016 -> 10:46 AM) Might be a nice change of pace to not have origin story movies. Some of these characters have been around since the 40's, everyone knows the story, just get to it. I don't think JL will be full of origin stories, but more like quick introductions to each character. Maybe like how Avengers introduced the Hulk in the first movie. Hulk had a solo film. They just re-cast Edward Norton for Mark Ruffalo. The character who had been introduced least was Hawkeye, who had like a 5 minute cameo in Thor.

QUOTE (Ezio Auditore @ May 17, 2016 -> 04:20 PM) I really don't care if anyone doesn't like me admiring Obama or thinking he's a good president and I stopped trying to explain it, I don't owe anyone an explanation nor do I care what they think. They usually fall into one of these categories: 1. Conservatives who don't like him on principle which is fine, but there's really no reason to discuss a thing that's settled 2. People who are far to the left of him (though they tend to like him more often than not) 3. White people who are not necessarily racist but aren't comfortable with things associated with or important to black people (they usually complain when Obama says or does something "black") I'm going to agree with Lostezio. Obama is going to go out of office well regarded in public perception. His legacy will then only age better and better as time goes forward.

QUOTE (Brian @ May 17, 2016 -> 04:12 PM) Obama just let a population of the black community down when he went to Flint last week. Stood in front of them and said the drinking water is fine. One of the few times I was embarrassed for him. What would he have done in Ferguson? People on the right want everything governed by the state, until there is a problem like that. That situation stayed out of control when their governor was absent for days. You should've been more concerned with his lack of leadership in that state. As someone that lives in said state, yes.

QUOTE (greg775 @ May 17, 2016 -> 04:01 PM) By showing no leadership on the Black Lives Matter issue. By very rarely going out to the sites of violence like St. Louis. Ferguson was HUGE and no leadership from the top. It was like he didn't want to get involved. This declare your white privilege thing is not going away and only going to result in violence when the wrong whites are provoked. No town hall meetings or national conferences on issues/race/economy. He was a do-nothing president, but that's fine. Many do nothing. I said I liked him personally and as a Sox fan and I stand by that. By all accounts, he likes a good smoke and a good game of basktball and seems like a GREAT dad and husband. He rocks, but as President? Big fat D-minus! To live in the Greg Bubble would be fascinating.
