  1. QUOTE (LDF @ Jan 19, 2015 -> 12:35 PM) good point but that is my problem. betting on something like this is like betting millions on the come in craps. I don't think anyone is banking on him. Most people tend to ignore/forget about him in their extended projected rotations, myself included.
  2. If EJ somehow rebounds, the Sox are in an amazing position.
  3. Why do I feel like that's a huge underpay for Fowler?
  4. QUOTE (fathom @ Jan 19, 2015 -> 11:02 AM) Thrilled with this deal. Scherzer had replaced Johan as the pitcher I felt the Sox had no chance to defeat when on the mound. Also, doesn't hurt to have a super rotation out there in case they face Cubs in postseason. More likely to face the Sox in the postseason.
  5. If they traded Melky the Sox would find it near impossible to entice top free agents in the future.
  6. I actually really like the Seahawks. Richard Sherman is my favorite non-Bear.
  7. QUOTE (Chilihead90 @ Jan 18, 2015 -> 02:52 PM) Yeah, I don't agree with that at all. Strikeouts is really the only thing Cutch has over him. Hair.
  8. Man, this Bulls team needs Noah off the bench with Niko, MDJ back so Jimmy can go back the two, and hope McD can shoot
  9. That was the most confident Derrick has been in a while. Jo is resting up. Jimmy and Pau each had 20+
  10. QUOTE (soxfan49 @ Jan 14, 2015 -> 10:34 PM) Is "absolutely phenomenal" really the correct verbage? Adams was nothing special last year, and while Danish has been good, he's still at WS. Let's hold off on absolutely phenomenal for now. Adams was ridiculous after being drafted.
  11. Dude was classy as hell and had an unprecedented drop off. He ended up being an awful signing (but even then, short term deal and not expensive by current going rates) but could never dislike the guy.
  12. QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Jan 14, 2015 -> 08:10 AM) Dunn has a baseball camp, entertainment business and a ranch in Texas. I'd say there is little chance, at least short term, he'd want to come back. Also, what does Dunn have to do with Scott Carroll? What story are you referring to? After Carroll's debut he asked Dunn for recommendations on restaurants that could accommodate 35 family members. Dunn made some calls and told Carroll he got him a reservation - along with paying the full tab. Dunn always was pure class, kinda like Thome. I'd welcome him back to the org.
  13. QUOTE (Ozzie Ball @ Jan 13, 2015 -> 02:51 PM) Matt Garrioch at John Sickels' site just posted his early 2015 draft rankings. Follow the link for the full list (top 300). http://www.minorleagueball.com/2015/1/12/7...-draft-rankings He's much lower on both Matuella (#28) and Bickford (#43) than the experts. He gave the following explanations for this: I'm OK with that because I'd love to get Matuella
  14. QUOTE (bmags @ Jan 13, 2015 -> 09:22 AM) Worse than Noah being bothered by his knee still, I think it's starting to get into his head. You could tell he was trying to break out of it last night mentally, but it just wasn't working.
  15. QUOTE (knightni @ Jan 13, 2015 -> 07:38 AM) I haven't had the chance to watch many games, but I see the box scores. Where has Noah gone so far this season? His numbers are really down. His knee is bugging + playing out of position next to Gasol. He's missing put backs he usually made, not able to grab boards. He needs to come off the bench with Niko.
  16. QUOTE (LDF @ Jan 12, 2015 -> 12:31 PM) i don't know, i would like to know more about his other pitches. it would be nice to get a randy johnson type of a pitcher Yeah, Sale is the closest you'll get.
  17. QUOTE (LDF @ Jan 12, 2015 -> 01:24 PM) i don't know about his slider, i will give way to others opinion on that. they prob know more than i. however i still think he needs more seasoning and more work. he can't depend on that slider alone. I know it's always brought up, but watch highlights of Rodon vs. Cuba a few years ago. His stuff was the best it's ever looked in that game and analysts said he could have mowed down an MLB lineup that night. His slider was straight filthy.
  18. The Sox have three Top 15 pitchers if you go by fWAR. Rodon is the wild card, because Danks and Noesi won't carry it. I also can see Montas knock on the door by the end of the year.
