  1. Signing Adams at slot is great news for both Rodon and Montes de Oca
  2. Atta boy Gordo. That was a weird looking hit.
  3. QUOTE (whitesoxfan99 @ Jun 9, 2014 -> 02:04 PM) It isn't an easy decision, but he would both have to stay healthy and be really really good at Missouri for staying in school to be worth it. And turn down the best team in baseball at preventing TJ surgeries.
  4. QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Jun 9, 2014 -> 01:59 PM) The worst part is that we can argue about this until we're long of tooth, but in the end, neither side is probably right. It reminds me of one of the times Dewey Cox goes to rehab - it seems like we need more guns AND we need less guns. Solution:
  5. QUOTE (Alpha Dog @ Jun 9, 2014 -> 11:29 AM) If it bleeds, it leads... Ding ding ding. America's the safest it has been in a long time. That being said, still wish we had a way to stop these things.
  6. QUOTE (flavum @ Jun 9, 2014 -> 10:20 AM) I'm going to take this as a good sign. https://twitter.com/KDB_MLB/status/47601969...3815296/photo/1 Interested in seeing what Adams signed for as that will effect Rodon and Montes de Oca
  7. bmags, danman and I win regardless of what Bryce does...but come on man, you've had TJ surgery and Mizzou's baseball team was so bad last year that we got an apology from a staff member for having to cover such a bad team. I'm with SS, if Sox can pull together a number like 590k plus a full ride scholarship, you're crazy to turn that down coming off TJ.
  8. QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Jun 9, 2014 -> 08:21 AM) CHRIS SALE MIGHT BE THE BEST f***ING PITCHER IN THE ENTIRE MAJORS LEAGUES AND YOU DON'T EVEN f***ING THINK HE'S AN ACE THAT'S THE BIGGEST BUNCH OF f***ING s*** I'VE EVER HEARD /Torgue Also Quintana is a prospect
  9. QUOTE (greg775 @ Jun 9, 2014 -> 12:51 AM) Sale is an ace? ... Not yet, folks. This may be the worst post you've ever had.
  10. QUOTE (HickoryHuskers @ Jun 9, 2014 -> 07:31 AM) Anybody know anyone in Lawrence that could go talk to the guy and convince him to sign? Greg your time is now.

    6/8 Games

QUOTE (PolishPrince34 @ Jun 9, 2014 -> 07:35 AM) If they are making a move with Anderson it will be to 2B. Way too valuable to give up on him in the infield. Also, on Danish reliever all the way. I can't see him holding up at all as a starter. Everybody is very high on him, but I'm the opposite. I have him in the 10-15 range as a prospect. I think his ceiling is very limited. Velocity of his fastball falls way down as his pitch count goes up. Drops to 86-90 mph after 50+ pitches. He's 19 years old and developing arm strength...
  12. You probably might want to change best slider to Rodon
  13. QUOTE (SoxPride18 @ Jun 7, 2014 -> 03:21 PM) Very good point that I haven't really thought of (just saw we drafted him). And considering our history with keeping pitching and position players healthy is top in the league. I'm sure that will be a major selling point. All indications from Jarvis' twitter is that he's gonna sign. Apparently friends with Hawkins. Rodon follows the Sox on Twitter now. IT'S A SIGN.
  14. QUOTE (greg775 @ Jun 7, 2014 -> 01:39 PM) Basically isn't it a stay in a hospital-type setting? Followed by a country club "prison " to make sure he's getting all medicated up? I wonder if he'll be allowed to golf and play tennis? This is a hilarious misconception. Normal mental health treatment is spotty half the time, let alone an insanity plea that sends you to a state mental hospital prison. I toured the one in Missouri for a story and it's awful. I've heard from people that life in a normal prison would be preferred.
  15. QUOTE (greg775 @ Jun 4, 2014 -> 11:24 PM) Who is an ace and how many teams have had them?? Shields, for example, is no more an ace than Buehrle. How many teams have aces? I guarantee you not many, or you could argue that many guys you might pick are not aces. Remember Cliff Lee? Some years he was an ace; some years he sucked. I contend there are not many clear cut aces in baseball since Buehrle emerged as a stellar pitcher. Yeah, James Shields is definitely not an ace. Here are some aces for you currently in the league: Sale, Darvish, Scherzer, Hernandez, Kershaw, Wainwright. After that you got guys like Fernandez, Strasburg and Tanaka. There are probably no more than 10 "aces" in all of baseball at any given time.
  16. QUOTE (whitesoxfan99 @ Jun 7, 2014 -> 01:20 PM) White Sox are going very pitching heavy so far today. At this point in the draft, I'd rather them take lottery ticket pitchers.
  17. The Sox/Mizzou fan in me wants this to play the same way as the last time we drafted a Mizzou commit - Sox get him.
