So since Danks is starting you mean 6-1 in the next 7?
-
Definitely would like to see him get some time in RF against lefties and DH Avi. Honestly I don't think his line is sustainable playing every day but if he continues to produce at that level he would deserve to play every day for us.
-
It wouldn't be a bad idea to bring up EJ to spell everyone once a week. Mostly Danks.
-
Danny Valencia just got DFA'd, he is slashing .296/.331/.506 in 50 something games and can play OF and 3B. That would be a great bat to add.

QUOTE (WhiteSoxLifer @ Jul 31, 2015 -> 11:06 AM) Yes they'll make a move by trading shark and not getting a bat just for you to go nuts lol If they get a good return for Shark and the bats stay hot it may end up being the best thing they could do. Honestly with everyone improving so much getting a rental bat is not the way to go.

QUOTE (BlackSox13 @ Jul 31, 2015 -> 11:00 AM) Wait, what? You mean four way trade? Swap Hou for SD I fudged up
-
I could see a 3 team trade between Chi/SD/NYY involving the Sox getting Upton, the Yanks getting Shark and Kimbrel and sending 1 good spec to each team with the Sox throwing SD some 10-20 rangers Or maybe a situation where we send them Avi and some 2-5 ranged guys and land Wil Meyers, while the Yankees end up with Kimbrel and Shark. Edit: Nevermind he is hurt.

QUOTE (Leonard Zelig @ Jul 31, 2015 -> 10:48 AM) Why has Puig only played in 55 games this year? He missed like 40 something with some hamstring injury i think

Cespedes to the Mets according to Levine

If we can fleece some one for Samardzija and get enough to pull off a Puig deal without losing Anderson then it's worth. -
What do we have left, 2.5 hours of torment?
-
How much are we thinking Upton will get in FA? Is he Boras?

QUOTE (Mike F. @ Jul 30, 2015 -> 06:35 PM) I think it's the injury personally. He's pitched in rainy conditions with no problems before. Is Chris hurting? -

The rain is clearly bothering Chris. No Idea why they just don't go on a delay -

The guy only has an inning left in him and we f*cked their bullpen up pretty hard this series -

Would prefer some one who isn't a rental but he would be nice to have. -
QUOTE (Charlie Haeger's Knuckles @ Jul 30, 2015 -> 10:37 AM) This trade would be immediately followed by a press release announcing Rick Hahn's resignation/firing. Go ahead and explain why. A replacement for Reddick as of now to a struggling team that can deal with his growth, a lottery ticket bat and a pitcher with #2/3 upside and closer downside. It's a nice package for a team like Oakland and nice, but expendable, pieces for Chicago.

Sox send Avi, Courtney Hawkins and Montas to Oak for Reddick.

QUOTE (Frank_Thomas35 @ Jul 30, 2015 -> 09:43 AM) I agree but most people at that age have the same issues but get the time to iron them out in the Minors. Avi hasn't had that opportunityand that says something about his talent and potential. He has to learn on the fly in the bigs not easy to do. But I still think he's doing well enough, he's batting .250-.270 I'll take that in his first full year. The defense bothers me more than the ugly swings. But all that can be fixed through playing or a stint in the minors. Trading him at this point is not, but that's just my opinion. The thing is he was hitting in the high .300's in AAA. He can succeed with his approach against lesser talent, so sending him down doesn't help. When a 24 year old can't catch up to a 94 mph fastball and swings at pitches that far out of the zone I worry.

QUOTE (BlackSox13 @ Jul 30, 2015 -> 09:35 AM) Good news indeed even though Sox fans already knew. The Sox have a trade history with Oakland and Reddick's bat/glove would be a perfect fit for what the Sox are looking for. Come on Rick, make it happen! It would be cool if they could snag Lawrie and Reddick, shift Saladino to 1st as heir apparent to SS next season and dump LaRoche somewhere.

QUOTE (Frank_Thomas35 @ Jul 30, 2015 -> 09:34 AM) I really hope we don't give up Avi right now, I really think the kid is going to be good. And I really doubt the FO trades him they are really high on him as they should be. We just knit pick too much, and it's unfair to Avi at 23-24 in his first full year. There will be growing pains. His issue is that he is a terrible defender and has an even worse approach at the plate. If his issue looked like him trying to adjust to major league pitching as opposed to him hacking at every s***ty pitch thrown a foot off the plate I'd have hope. IMO he is never going to amount to more than a .270/.310/.400 guy at his best.
-
Hopefully it's not a rental and we can ship Avi off instead of high end prospects.

QUOTE (Mike F. @ Jul 30, 2015 -> 09:26 AM) I went to a game at the Cell when Price was still on the Rays, and the Sox slapped him around quite a bit. That being said, it could have been an off-day for him. Eaton, Melky and Avi are the only ones with success, as a team we hit .210/.257/.297 against him.
