  1. Sale - Goes Quintana - Stays Robertson - Stays until 2017 deadline Fraizer - Stays until 2017 deadline Jones - Goes Abreu - Stays Melky - Stays Eaton - Stays until 2018 offseason Jennings - Stays until 2017 deadline I'm not expecting a ton of rebuilding this offseason. I don't see the Sox being competent enough to know what direction this team needs to go right now. Sale will be traded due to his market value and antics. I see Jones going too. Everyone else stays until the deadline because the Sox will still have their heads in the clouds and think they can win. Q and Eaton aren't going anywhere this offseason or 2017 season because the Sox will be way too stubborn with asking prices. I do think Eaton's time will be short lived though because the Sox will be so bad he'll let his mouth run and either demand a trade, or rub the front office the wrong way (he'll be pissed that Sale was traded and is not the right veteran you want being around for a rebuild).
  2. At first I didn't care, then I realize this means that Danish is the #6 starter? Yikes. Sox really need to address this depth issue.
  3. QUOTE (soxfan2014 @ Nov 21, 2016 -> 03:59 PM) What in the actual f*** did I just read. You and me both. How and why would someone thing that's a normal thing to do while hazing...
  4. I don't know why, but I feel like Houston is going to be the one to get him, though I don't know what the package would consist of. I just feel like Boston is going to be far too stubborn with their prospects and LA are going to land someone else.
  5. QUOTE (WBWSF @ Nov 17, 2016 -> 05:54 PM) This has to make you wonder who the White Sox are going to have at catcher in 2017. I would like to think that McCann would have been a upgrade over their present catchers. I really think they will let Narvaez have first crack. Didn't they like the way he handled the pitchers? Plus the guy does fit into their new draft approach with his ability to take a walk. I just don't think his bat will be able to carry him as a starter.
  6. Sox prospects in danger of being lost per MLB.com: Chicago White Sox (6) 6. Adam Engel, OF 10. Jordan Guerrero, LHP 12. Jacob May, OF 14. Courtney Hawkins, OF 25. Luis Martinez, RHP 27. Nick Delmonico, 1B/OF Sox have the 40-Man set at 38, so you have to figure two of those guys will be added before Friday.
  7. QUOTE (SouthSideSale @ Nov 15, 2016 -> 05:28 PM) Callis talking about a package from Boston of JBJ, Moncada or Benintendi, Devers and Kopech. I would take that. JBJ can easily be traded again for additional pieces down the road.
  8. QUOTE (SoxPride18 @ Nov 15, 2016 -> 05:22 PM) A package around Odor, Mazara and Gallo would excite me I'd rather have Verdugo and Bellinger than Mazara and Gallo. Gallo just screams bust to me.
  9. QUOTE (SouthSideSale @ Nov 14, 2016 -> 07:41 PM) So, a question I have, is Sale the domino that teams are going to wait to fall before making other big pitching trades? I.e. Justin Verlander I would think so. Sale would set the market value insanely high if he is moved first.
  10. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Nov 14, 2016 -> 01:00 PM) He said "they put me in orthotics", seems like he is blaming the sox for his injuries. You can blame the Sox for a lot of things, but bad medical decisions arent normally one of them But that doesn't mean it can't happen. I can totally understand where Lawrie could be coming from and be angry at the team staff. I was misdiagnosed with Meneres Disease earlier in the year by a doctor I thought I had a lot of faith in. Needless to say, I would never go back to that office again after finding out from a second opinion that their staff (including the doctor) misread my test results. When a big life-altering (and in Lawrie's case, career threatening) mistake is made it is incredibly hard to have that same level of confidence exist even if they are as accredited as the Sox. Lawrie seems like the type of volatile personality that would rub people the wrong way after something like this. A Swisher 2.0 if given the chance. And I'm not saying this is the Sox fault either, we have no clue who his cryptic tweets are directed to.
  11. Sticks out to me as rebuilding moves. Not albatross contracts, and there's potential to flip at least 2 if not all three of those guys at the deadline. I wouldn't mind any of those moves so long as the Sox sell at the winter meetings.
  12. QUOTE (soxfan2014 @ Nov 7, 2016 -> 12:07 PM) I didn't even think of Jones as a comparable to Giles of last off-season. If we were to receive a similar deal, whoa. I don't think he would command as much as what Giles brought back, but he has a lot of value on the market. It would be foolish of the Sox to keep him if the package is there.
  13. QUOTE (Chet Kincaid @ Nov 4, 2016 -> 08:51 AM) If you're doing a full rebuild, why give sign a vet like Davis and give him at bats and playing time? Give that to a young prospect who's trying to prove himself. We might get a late bloomer. Because you can potentially trade him to a contender in need of some OF depth in July. A lot of teams that rebuild do that.
  14. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Nov 3, 2016 -> 03:23 PM) I'm pretty sure he can decline the assignment, and if he can, he will. He's done with the White Sox. Yep. I can't see him being back. Sox have Tilson, Coats, and May who one of could probably at the very least match his production as a 4th OF'er.
  15. He should have been gone back in July. Thanks for the insane game against the Mets, but good riddance.
  16. QUOTE (elrockinMT @ Sep 4, 2016 -> 02:00 PM) I don't think at this point Renaudo is a starting pitcher option in 2017. I don't think he's a major league option at this point. Guy throws BP.
  17. QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Sep 1, 2016 -> 03:32 PM) Kevan Smith should be interesting. Guy who has a chance to stick around the big leagues as a backup. Still scary to think the Sox catching duo next year is scheduled to be Narvaez/Smith.
  18. With Albers and his 6.19 ERA and 11.4 H/9 still on the team, I wouldn't hold my breath. If a 33 year old reliever has stuck around this long, I can't see them giving up on a 25 year old just yet.
  19. I'd expect to see Coats, Garcia, Smith, and Purke up. Hopefully the Sox give Minaya and Goldberg a look too. Nothing really exciting. I hope they pass on Burdi this year and let him try to make it out of ST. No reason to rush him to the majors.
  20. At the very least, Narvaez has solidified the backup catcher role. It's not like there's any competition for the spot.
  21. Gotta love the genius who thought it would be a great idea to put a logo with a downward pointing arrow all over the ballpark. Anyone who has any basic design/marketing background knows you NEVER associate negative images with your brand. That arrow may work when talking low mortgage rates but it's a terrible idea associating it with a competitive baseball team. Subliminal messages stick, especially when it accurately defines the current state of the organization, haha.
  22. Two "Sox" moves I could see happening that may be realistic are Puig and McCann. We know there's interest in both in the past, and it would be just like the White Sox way to try and catch lightening in a bottle with both.
  23. QUOTE (Hatchetman @ Aug 10, 2016 -> 07:47 PM) You need Albers to come into the games where Shields can't get out of the second inning. He's been a good soldier. The Sox would be better off giving that time to players they should be evaluating. Albers future with this club ended back in June.
  24. QUOTE (GreenSox @ Aug 10, 2016 -> 07:29 PM) I liked Ranaudo's start. Like to see more. Agree there's no point in keeping Albers around. They gave Turner a try last night...I'll say this, Turner's still not a good reliever -yet- but he's massively improved from where he was as a starter. They are keeping Robertson around because he's still their 2nd to best reliever. But I would let him go for free on waivers and invest the savings elsewhere next year. Letting Robertson go for free would be a bad move. As disappointing as his season has been, there are teams that would like to have him in the bullpen come the offseason. The Sox are in a good position to be able to move him once the season is up. Judging value some relievers other teams got back, the Sox clearly were asking the moon for their major league pieces or actually think they can contend next season. They definitely dropped the ball, but I still think they could get a solid prospect or two in December for him. I wouldn't give up on him yet, he's not washed up.
  25. I really like the Sox took this kid. It would be amazing if they had their version of McCann for the next 6+ seasons.
