  1. I think you almost have to give him the benefit of the doubt and see what he has left in the tank after what sounds like some changes to his conditioning this offseason. It's not like the Sox have stud backup options knocking at the door.
  2. No. He's a very troubled individual - they don't need that kind of negative PR, headache, or distraction to the team. I'm pretty shocked he got off with no charges. Breaking someone's skull while having sex (whether it was consensual or not) is extremely fucked up.
  3. Hedges is better in every aspect of fielding and behind the plate action than Seby. This argument comes down to whether you value a hitting catcher over a fielding catcher. Don't mistake this for me wanting the Sox to sign Hedges (I don't). But between the two - without $5M - I would rather have Hedges as a backup than Seby.
  4. Eloy didn't have to jump and hang from his arm on that play. He should have known better. Running to 1B is a damn requirement on the game. Do you have the same feelings towards Anderson and his hamstrings? Why isn't he on this list to vote for when he has a fair share amount of nagging injuries each and every year?
  5. Seby had a over a .400 BABIP last season with little power. Based on his minor league career, I'd be he returns to his career tendencies over maintaining what we saw last year.
  6. That's a freak injury though. Lots of players - both athletic and not athletic - can suffer that injury. Eloy running into the net, trying to rob a HR, running into Robert, or diving for a ball he has a 0% catch probability of making is where he becomes his own worse enemy.
  7. Most is Eloy - we saw what a healthy Eloy at DH could do and it was awesome at the end of the year. Benintendi keeps him in that role. I expect this to be the year he finally establishes himself as a top bat in the AL. Least is Grandal. I'm not a Grandal hater by any means, but the injury concern with him is very real. I have low expectations for him. I think he will be better than what we saw last year, but I do worry how much of a shell he may be of his former self.
  8. Kap has been all over both teams this offseason.
  9. We might see the most SB in years with that pickoff move.
  10. Swanson sweepstakes might be coming to an end. And yes, KFidds does have some occasional insider knowledge. He knows KB, so he has some contacts.
  11. With the new base running rules next year... he could be way more valuable than you think as a late PR option.
  12. Here's your 4th OF'er. I loved this dude despite how bad he actually is at hitting. Should be good for the clubhouse.
  13. I mean, obviously, but they have loved this guy since before his draft year. I think they are also high on him to begin with.
  14. I think the Sox view him similar to how Eaton was the 1st time around. I don't think they signed him to hit single digit HR's. My expectation is we see him return to form with what he's done in the past.
  15. He's your 2023 version of Nick Ciuffo. If we see him next season something went terribly wrong.
  16. Sheets with an occasional start would not be the end of the world. The 2005 Sox survived with Ross Gload in the OF on Sundays.
  17. If you’re going to follow any “insider” NBB is the one to follow. He has connections.
  18. You’re more than welcome to ignore it. No one is forcing you to read through this thread.
  19. Now imagine if Moncada bounces back. He essentially is your 6-spot hitter.
  20. Jansen is good. Biggio is YUCK.
