Lance Lynn locked up 2 years 38 mill + club option
CWSpalehoseCWS replied to soxfan49's topic in Pale Hose Talk
Love this. Solidifies the rotation for the near future. Lynn was born to play on the South Side. -
ReyLo skipped at AAA: Spot start? Hug watch? stayed tuned

Considering Bryce Ball just got Pederson, Adolfo should definitely be enough to get Escobar. Although being out of options might be a tough sell to a team considering he's still only in AA. -

So do we want to add to this speculation? Micker Adolfo is not playing for the Barons tonight... -
He's supposed to be pretty good with an average arm, but very quick reaction skills. I've always envisioned his future as a quality backup catcher.

I believe the Sox have a rule in place for pitchers that if they exceed a certain number of pitches in 1 inning they are removed. Lambert had 39 yesterday. -

Totally wondering the same thing. He easily could play tonight and make a start Monday. I’d be pretty shocked if he was involved in a deal, I can’t imagine he has much of any trade value right now. -

Fangraphs Farm System Rankings (7/9/21)
CWSpalehoseCWS replied to FriendlyNorthsider's topic in FutureSox Board
Agreed. I respect Longenhagen‘s analysis on a lot of things, but he always come across as more bullish and opinionated that most. I’m not arguing the Sox have a bottom tier system right now, but to think it’s the worst and put Burdi #2 seems wrong. -
Exactly. Play the hot hand. Goodwin has been a nice addition this year.
-
Thats true, I just have a hard time believing the Sox will suddenly turn to that strategy when historically they haven’t used it as a way to acquire players.
-
Escobar just continues to make too much sense taking into account the other areas in need of an upgrade. I still think we see the Sox get a catcher (Tucker Barnhart) and 1-2 arms. I don't see a deep enough farm to do all that and land a big ticket guy.
-
People can make fun for the Orioles and Pirates but the Rockies have to be the most delusional and poorly run franchise ever. I honestly don’t think we’ll ever see that team win anything.

7/5 White Sox @ Twins 6:00 CT
CWSpalehoseCWS replied to Greg Hibbard's topic in 2021 Season in Review
I hate the way they've utilized him this year. I can't see him as a starter ever at this rate. -
With the Rockies not having a GM and looking at the Arenado deal, they might have what it takes to pull it off. I'd be shocked if it happened though.
-
I never said that's what I would give up for him. I think Fraizer is over-performing this year when you include his whole career, but the guy is arguably one of the hotter trade chips this year. The Pirates would be stupid to not begin all conversations with top guys. For the Sox to get him, they are totally going to have to overpay. I'm perfectly fine with getting Escobar.

Burger Called Up, Eaton Activated, Burdi/Yermin Optioned
CWSpalehoseCWS replied to DirtySox's topic in Pale Hose Talk
Yermin absolutely the right call. This team needs guys with positional flexibility right now. Hopefully Yermin can figure it out, because he such a fun player to watch when he’s on. -
First Locastro, now this. Arizona starting to blow it up.
-
I immediately thought Yermin. He's been struggling and offers little defensive value. Sheets at least can attempt RF and competent 1B. Would not surprise me one bit.
-
.187/.243/.254 with a .497 OPS
-
It was pretty obvious he had an issue with his hand or arm. Stone called it. He's been inconsistent as much as anyone in the bullpen, but I wouldn't put his implosion completely on his ability tonight.
