I think you're thinking about the season as a whole. Pretty sure he went hitless in his first 50 AB's or so - got a lot of comparison's to Ventura because of it.

Hawk being a fan of the team is what I miss the most. For Stoney and Benetti, it's a paycheck. Hawk was relatable because he suffered through the same shit we did as fans and you could hear it in his voice. That's not to say Hawk was perfect, but I'd rather have a fan of the team I'm watching announce games. I think that's the one thing from Benetti that I can't quite get used to is how his emotion seems so forced. I like some of the analytics he brings to the game, but I'm not sold on him.

I would probably say Sale personally.

Agreed. Anderson is important, but I don't think anyone is looking at him as a key cog in the rebuild. He's a very solid complementary guy, but not a player on the same level/expectation as Eloy/Yoan. If he could be a .250 20/20 guy out of the 8 hole, I think we'd all be able to live with that.

Nope. The Twins chose to remove him from the 40, which required him to go on waivers. He still had options though.

Watching these first two games. I don't think MLB fully realizes how much longer games are going to be with the 3 batter minimum rule. Rebuilding teams' games are going to total 4 hours easy.

Wasn't there rumors that he had some serious personal issues going on around the time that were being kept hush-hush? I thought I remember hearing something about his kid or something along the lines of that.

Vast majority of people also consider him a future reliever, even though the Sox keep starting him (and there's nothing wrong with that development path). You don't see many relievers ranked in the Top 30.
