  1. It is about the money to the extent that it relates to the salary cap, but beyond that it really isn't about the money. Irsay forces Peyton back to the Colts by paying him the $28M, which nobody in their right mind thinks he should do. Once that decision is made, Peyton has no good reason to come back to the Colts voluntarily at any price, because he only has 3-4 years left and the Colts are 2-3 years away from contending.
  2. Why are teams always dumb enough to trade with the Patriots? It's pretty clear by now that they come out on top with every single trade they make.
  3. I've never heard of an 11th team in the discussion. There are ten teams in the discussion. After USF's win last night, I think nine of them are in for sure and Seton Hall is the team that will have to sweat on Sunday.
  4. Don't the Patriots have 2 first round picks every year?
  5. "Good Enough" by Cyndi Lauper from the Goonies soundtrack is in my head, and I swear I haven't heard the song in quite a while.
  6. Last time I flew into LGA I took a cab to midtown and it was around $35, but that was a while ago and I'd bet it's more expensive now.
  7. Depends on how you value time and convenience in relation to expense. Take cab entire distance = fastest & most convenient but most expensive Take cab to midtown and then E or R train = moderate time, convenience and expense Take the 33 bus to Jackson Heights and then E or R train = least convenient and least expensive but most time-consuming
  8. With no bids being "stolen" by mid-majors thus far and such a soft bubble, I think UConn and WVU are already in, USF needs one more win, and Seton Hall might need one more win.
  9. Anybody ever played in Tunica? My wife and I are going there for vacation in a couple weeks.
  10. Valpo got pounded last night, so no Drew vs Drew first round matchup (which is what Lunardi had in his brackets yesterday).
  11. I wonder if the NFL would consider this serious enough to take the unprecedented step of 'Calipari'ing the Saints and vacating their wins during that period.
  12. 14. I pee in my own shower, but I won't do it in anybody else's.
  15. But for the first few years after the Cubs last won the WS, those jokes were hilarious!
  16. Some teams that fail the eye test will get into the tournament, unless they cut the tournament back to 58 teams.
  17. MLBN: New York vs Philadelphia
  18. There is time for a 2-2-1 series if you don't insist on having a day off for travel.
  19. This has been my issue with Sox TV/radio broadcasting, especially recently: Play-by-play and analyst are two different jobs, requiring two different skillsets, yet the Sox seem to treat them as if they're the exact same job. A PBP guy is a professional broadcaster. He describes the action objectively and keeps the broadcast flowing. An analyst is an expert who provides insights and opinions on what is going on in the game and with the team. The Sox have effectively filled all four of their TV/radio spots with analysts. I don't dislike any of the four, but two of them are doing jobs for which they are neither qualified nor competent.
  20. Everything I've seen says that NU is in as long as they beat Minnesota and don't lose by too much to Michigan.

  22. Just like people with Kevin Butler jerseys could just buy a 'C' to place over the 'B'
  23. I'll have to keep that in mind next time I get up to Chicago. One of the downsides to having small children is that the trips to Chicago have been much less frequent.
  24. I miss Bennigan's. Loved their Monte Cristo.
  25. OK, so two towns in the northern part of my county, each about 15 miles away from me, are mostly leveled. An entire school complex was demolished. I have several friends in the areas that were hit and all were very lucky to sustain only minor damage. Very weird to see your neck of the woods all over the national news for a couple days. Our house does not have a basement and we are debating finding somewhere else to go the next time the tornadoes come. Oh, and if Jim Cantore ever comes to your town, you better get the f**k out!
