QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Oct 11, 2005 -> 11:44 PM) The Jaime Burke fan club is going to be P.I.S.S.E.D. at this thread And I'd say the Ben Davis fan club too, but I don't really know if he has one.

QUOTE(YASNY @ Oct 11, 2005 -> 06:23 PM) There is always a chance he just wants to get the hell away from the Bronx Zoo. Doubtful, but who knows? Perhaps but I doubt it. Playing for the Yankees only increases his profile and makes him bigger in Japan. The only other team I could possibly see him at is Seattle.
-
And Jason, you can actually stand up and start cheering like me if someone other than Miggy Olivo hits a 3 run homer ok (no Angels included).
-
Matsui's been the Yankees best clutch hitter in the middle of that lineup over the past 3 seasons. I can't see them getting rid of him, especially when poor pitching and defense were the main problems for them in the series.
-
Ok so JC's on the hill, you know the deal there, been our best pitcher in the 2nd half. In 2 games against the Angels this season, 0-1 with a 3.46 ERA, but a good stat here, only a .188 BAA. So they had trouble hitting him this season. Now as for Paul Byrd, in the 1 game he pitched against us, he won, but gave up 5ER in 6IP with 2HR's. Other good news, he's worse in night games, with his ERA .3 higher than in day games. Unfortunately lefties hit him way better, so the likes of Pods, A.J and Carl are going to have to produce for us. He's also terrible with RISP with 2 outs, so hopefully we get that situation to arise quite a bit. Byrd also has a G/F ratio of 0.89, another good sign for us since at the Cell we'll have plenty of chances to hit the long ball against him.

QUOTE(Kalapse @ Oct 11, 2005 -> 02:35 PM) I absolutely love Troy Polamalu, line him up at SS, FS, LB, DE, he dominates at every spot on the field. I wanted him in the '03 draft instead of Haynes. He'd look damn good next to Mike Brown Make some nice plays against the Chargers did he? Was a nailbiter tonight. -
QUOTE(greg775 @ Oct 11, 2005 -> 02:30 PM) We got to find a way to beat a guy like Byrd. He ain't Don Drysdale but he could beat us. The good news is, Byrd's a flyball pitcher, so he's very prone to giving up the longball. We've just got to take advantage.

QUOTE(SoxFan101 @ Oct 11, 2005 -> 06:58 AM) I still think in the draft next year if we end up with a top 10 pick get a stud CB, than try to get a difference maker at the TE position... doesnt have to be Tony G, Gates, or Crumpler but a guy like Written or something around that. Than spend the 3,4, and 5 round picks on OL depth. Than only f/a that needs to be brought in is someone to take Hunter Hillenmeyer's spot and are team will be complete. We will have the depth at QB position with Orton a year under his belt and Rex healthy so that problem should take care of itself next season. But yeah id say the 3 major holes on our team is a stud CB, OLB, and TE. Maybe bring in a decent WR to compete for the 2-3 spot but I believe in Bradley and that he will step up his game. Than since our backups on the O-Line are like Q-Mitchell, and that St. Clair or whatver guy from Miami we could take some players there. I think Garza will be a starter next year and Brown will retire. And after that first series Garza really looked good out there and Metcalf has looked good at the other guard spot too. You can definitely still get a stud TE after round 1. Witten was a 3rd round pick, who slipped and he was only 20 in his 1st season. And really over the past few seasons, they have been used a lot more in the passing attack for a lot of offenses.
-
I still like the Vikings. If the O-Line can do a better job, they've got enough talent offensively to produce more than what they've done so far.

QUOTE(Tony82087 @ Oct 11, 2005 -> 01:45 AM) Just picked him up in Fantasy. Not like I need it, right Dabby..... How can I have a week better than 10 other players in our fantasy league, yet you have to have an insane week?
-
QUOTE(Credepopsup @ Oct 11, 2005 -> 07:21 AM) I took those guys a round or two early because I got stiffed in a roto league draft, a few days before our draft, when I waited too long. The players I had targeted, were Swift and Pryzbilla, but DBAHO took Pryzbilla 3 picks before mine. I also narrowly missed Donyell Marshall, and I missed Raja Bell by one pick too - That pissed me off. Yeah I'm hoping Pryziblla's motivated enough in a contract year to show that last season's 2nd half was no fluke. If it wasn't, he can be a top 5 big man possibly. And I grabbed Marhshall as well, debating b/w him and Grant Hill at the time, but Marshall's drains more 3's, and in a starter's spot alongside LeBron, he'll definitely have some good value this season. Really annoyed Hammer grabbed Dwight Howard though, and refuses to trade him.

I'm devatstated....... Where's Kevin Walker!!!!!!

Wow 7, that's gotta be like a record surely. May you all have a good one!!!

QUOTE(Chisoxrd5 @ Oct 11, 2005 -> 12:16 AM) All because he took the ball away from Randy Moss... Football's version of a one hit wonder Suddenly with Tillman struggling, Vasher already being moved into a starter's role when he's probably not ready, and Jerry Azumah who's not good enough to be a starter, Chicago's CB's don't look all that good. But they've got plenty of time to turn it around still. And oh yeah, Antonio Bryant's a good one, when he ain't runnin his mouth.
-
I wonder about the reaction this would have gotten in the midst of our "losing" streak against teams like the Royals. But that was a great post YAS, how long did you spend workin on it?
-
I would have asked him if a Dingo ate his baby.
-
QUOTE(SSH2005 @ Oct 10, 2005 -> 07:09 PM) Where have you been? Tillman has been getting burned every game. He's the most overrated player on the Bears. And wasn't he ranked in Dan Pompei's top 100 players in the NFL in the pre-season as well. Oh boy.

QUOTE(SoxFan101 @ Oct 10, 2005 -> 01:36 PM) Lol he is looking good for you guys really good... Although I dont think the Bills are missing him 2 much lol... I think they can be good with Holcomb running the show. Yeah Holcombe did look pretty good today actually, the Bills just need him to manage the game and not turn the ball over. As for Bledsoe, protect him, and he'll produce. Helps when he's got a TE the caliber of Jason Witten and his all time favorite WR Terry Glenn as well. Oh, and I'm never going to tip against New England again after they've lost a game, no matter who they're playing. -
Also have to look at the FA's the Bears have signed over Angelo's tenure as well. It's all good soxfan1 to put down every Bears player that's been drafted that's still on the roster (and so they should be), but how many actualy playmakers or difference makers are on that list?

QUOTE(WilliamTell @ Oct 10, 2005 -> 07:33 AM) Philly can come back easily, I should know..... Not today, Willy, not today. And wite, you think Buffalo may want Drew Bledsoe back at the moment? -
Bump, draft starts in 10min.
-
Orton 4.5 Y/A and Benson 5 carriers for 6 yards. Ouch, not a good day at all, and I even tipped you guys.

QUOTE(Frankensteiner @ Oct 10, 2005 -> 12:59 AM) I still don't mind letting Paulie walk if he receives a ridiculous contract offer from some other team. And I won't have a problem with Dye/Gload-Anderson as long as we can improve the DH spot by signing a good hitter to replace Everett. I'd like us to make a push for Brian Giles because he'll likely get a smaller contract than Konerko (both in terms of length and money). Giles is likely to get at least 4 years @30M this off-season. For a 34 year old hitter, I doubt the Sox will make a serious run at him. Probably head back to San Diego, or maybe go to Atlanta to join his brother.
-
I just hope for a Yankee win (can't believe I'm actually saying this, because I probably hate the Yankees the most out of any MLB team), so that the Angels have to use Colon in game 5.
-
QUOTE(whitesoxfan13 @ Oct 10, 2005 -> 12:52 AM) We need Paulie. Funny how at the ASB, 2/3rd's of the Soxtalk Population would have definitely disagreed with that statement. And that's because of the BA/RISP stat. The end all to be all with him, it seemed.
