QUOTE(LosMediasBlancas @ Oct 6, 2005 -> 12:41 AM) Even better news for today, rain from 5 to midnight. Ok who started the rain dance?

Ok so Wells faced us once this season, giving up 5R, 3ER with 0BB's and 5K's in 6.2IP. But here is some good news, Wells away from Fenway this season, 5.56 ERA with a .327 BAA. Unfortunately he's much better in night games with a 3.86 ERA. He's had a 4.45 ERA since August though, so he hasn't been in great touch. The key to hitting him, get runners on. He doesn't walk a lot of guys, but with runners on, he has a 8.54 ERA, with RISP a 10.76 ERA, and a 22.24 ERA with RISP with 2 outs. Looking at his pitch count, get on him early. For his 1st 45 pitches, he has an ERA of about 5.70. For the next 30 pitches however, that comes down to about 2.1. Mark's just gotta keep the form from his last 2 games going into today's game. 10-2 at home with a 2.48 ERA is an excellent stat to look at. Looking at his starts against the Red Sox though, he has a 5/3 BB/K ratio in 2 games. Not good enough at all. Compared to a team like Cleveland where that stat is 29/6 for a K/BB ratio (2.45 ERA against them), my thoughts for Mark Buerhle having success tonight is simple. Strike out some hitters.

Another top 5 bust for Matt Millen.

I always liked Leighton better for some reason. He won't make it in Buffalo however with Biron, Ryan Miller and Mika Noronen in front of him.

So I'd be guessing in the off-season, if the Bulls miss out on Peja, they'd want a hard nosed defensive center. Someone like Kelvin Cato perhaps........

QUOTE(YASNY @ Oct 5, 2005 -> 05:49 PM) You are underestimating David Wells. He's still a solid, crafty, post season experienced lefty. In my opinion, this is Boston's best pitching matchup in the series. They lose this one, they are in real trouble. Lucky for us we hit lefties better then righties. And you're right YAS, Boston needs to win this game more than us. I can't see them coming back with the other pitching they've got from a 0-2 deficit, but I'm definitely not going to write them off here and now.

QUOTE(nitetrain8601 @ Oct 5, 2005 -> 05:37 AM) That was quick. Well it makes sense since I heard FLA wants a latin manager. Joey Cora may get an interview depending on how long Larry Beinfest is willing to wait.

Is he Juan's brother?

Amazing noise from the crowd, and it's definitely gonna make a difference thru the playoffs, especially since we have Home Field Advantage. Nice pics there Steve.

QUOTE(whitesoxfan99 @ Oct 5, 2005 -> 03:08 PM) Actually, Eddy probably is one of the best centers in the NBA. But that is more of an indictment of the quality of C play in the NBA than Curry's production up to this point. He wouldn't be in the top 5, maybe the top 10. But I'm not a fan of Curry, so others may put him in the top 5 around the league.

QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ Oct 5, 2005 -> 09:49 AM) Umm...check the records, that Bulls team wasn't a winner...this one is. Winning is the only reason those players weren't in Chicago. If it were this team during that off-season Tmac would of signed here immediately. Well considering T-Mac grew up in Orlando, I still would have thought he would have signed with the Magic, even if they had the same record as the Bulls. Were Chicago even that interested in Hill? Jerry Krause wasn't the most liked GM at the time either.

QUOTE(knightni @ Oct 5, 2005 -> 12:56 PM) Thomas could be dealt for a PF/C. Deng is the starting SF on the Bulls. Who would want to trade for Tim Thomas?

QUOTE(qwerty @ Oct 5, 2005 -> 09:36 AM) Gonna be funny when wallace rapes a team for a near max contract ( probally will be a max contract). Supply and demand, to put it simply. If only we didn't include him in the Grant Hill deal.
-
QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ Oct 5, 2005 -> 01:26 AM) If the Bulls want a guy and Charlotte and Orlando are bidding this time around, 90% of the players (for a similar price) will be coming to Chicago. That didn't happen a few years ago with Grant Hill and Tracy McGrady. Players will always be interested in coming to a team in Florida because there's no state income tax. But we'd have no room for Peja anyways with Hill and Turkloglu there already. Ben Wallace however........

QUOTE(qwerty @ Oct 5, 2005 -> 09:00 AM) Almost as much as you. Wondering when you were going to come back with that.

Berman really likes the Bears doesn't he.
-
Looking at the lineup, Gooch, Dye and Crede with no hits today, so we've got them to get going as well. Can't complain about the offense at all though.
-
Good to see Jose's family in attendance.

QUOTE(fathom @ Oct 5, 2005 -> 08:25 AM) I think he's done for the year cause Padres won't win enough games for him to pitch again. Yep, 3 and out for them.

CB - "If only the Bears could score like this". That's mean.

So is this what 2000 was like?
